He attacked back. With a merc, a pet, and a Lvl. 53 Shaman, he was toast within less than a minute. Perhaps they have adjusted his HP. He did not respawn instantly.
Just to clear things up :) it took me 5 minutes to kill him he has EXACTLY 35568hp and in 5 minutes he did 202 damage to me
And he respawned instantly

I just watched a lvl 70 something kill this guy she assassinated him for 32147 and he dropped to like 7% was amazed.Then She just said wtf and left.

I was doing Quest for this guy and when I tried to click on one of the Mobs to Attack, i clicked him acciedently and he started hitting me, but i still attack the Trogs after that, DS killed him in about a minute...

62 rogue.. took me about 3 minutes to take him down.
Crazy amount of hps.
The earring he gives is pretty decent low level.
But probably just easier to do the quest rather than try to kill him.

went after him with a 53 monk. Hitting him for 150-180 stave of the eternal procing the stun 75 points and chill 50 points. After about 3 min I had him to 70% and couldn't believe his hp. Got him down to 40% and just gave up. He just has insane hp.

killed him with my 22 monk 2day no buffs took about 10mins 4 the kill

Wow this guy has a ton of HP. I hit for around 50 with the Claw of the Hunter and Poisonious Chill procs and it took me about 1 minute to take him down to 97%, although i did gain health when i was fighting him 
he's definately level 20. took him out in 6-7 mins on lvl 52 pally.

he cant be level 50...more like 20-30 maybe 10..hits for 15 max and has a TON of hp
Hailed the guy when I was a level 30 Beastlord . . . got the contract. Ran out of time to do the agreement, so put the contract in the inventory for later. Soon after, contract got shifted to the bank.
Later eventually came, walked the guy across NL, but oops no contract to give back as it was in the bank and I was pressed for time . . . again!!, so no cracker jack prize for me that day.
Found the contract just a bit ago rotting in the bank and figured, why not? Tried to turn in the contract for my cracker jack prize and he gave it right back to me, saying he had no use for it.
/sigh . . .
As a level 39, got the quest again and walked Lerin across NL . . . at the end gave him the =same= contract he wouldn't take before and . . . voila . . . experience and Jasper Kundan Earring.
Who sez that completing a quest just to complete it can't be fun.

I tried the quest once with a 30 monk, didnt work to well 2nd wave killed him and almost me, but then again im a poor kid and i didnt tweek the monk much

I believe that this guy is Lvl 20 (or atleast on the test server he is) I am guessing he has about 20k hps. He hits has hard as a lvl 20 max being 40ish. Killed him with a 25 mage/sk/cleric with ease, though it took about 45 mins to kill.
