On aggro: Sea Captain Azobus cocks his head and says, 'You have some guts to mess with the likes of me. Perhaps I can find some work for you after I separate you from your skin!'

On death: Sea Captain Azobus's corpse gasps and hangs in the air a moment, before clattering to the ground in a pile of fragmented bone.

This captian guy doesnt like to spawn from the looks of it to me. I have been camping him for about 3 hours at a time for the past 3 nights and he has yet to show himself. I am not sure if im doing something wrong but i kill all the mobs right around the boat and he still wont pop. If someone has info that can help please post.

Thanks,

As Yanari says, he spawns inside the ship in the southeast corner of the beach. There are three fixed spawns inside the ship. Two are right near the east wall just inside. You can see them from outside. The third, where the Captain spawns, is deep inside the hull, almost in the prow.

His placeholders are "a maniacal zombie" (which looks like a zombie troll) and various skeletal sailors. The Captain is a little tougher than his placeholders (probably a few more HP), but not too bad.

It took quite a number of kills (I didn't count) of his placeholders before he finally spawned over probably 5-7 real-life hours, but when he finally did spawn he spawned twice in a row. He dropped the sleeves both times for us (44 Ranger and 41 Beastlord). Of course we were there for the Pauldrons.

The nice thing about this location is that you can clear your way to it fairly easily. Just hug the eastern wall. The "shipwrecked hatestorm sailor" standing against the wall doesn't aggro, and nothing paths there, so it's a good place to med while you recover. Then clear the two spawns near the entrance to the ship and you can med against the wall. Kill the PH when you're ready. There are two more static spawns south of the ship to keep you busy while you wait for the Captain.

My husband's toons have been spending quite a bit of time levelling on the beach in the last month or so. This ship is always in his hunting rotation. Captain Azubooboo (as we fondly call him) seems not to be spawning as often as he used to.

The maniacal zombie must have tipped him off that he was a marked man.
HELP - Spawn rate

I have been camping this mob in the spot where he spawns, assuming there is only one spot. I camped two days ago for 2.5 hours, and he spawned once. We typically clear the 3 mobs on the wall, and all other mobs within about a 100 yard radius (so inside and on the other side of the large boat hull).

Last night, I camped it for nearly 6 hours, and no sign of el capitan.

Then, yesterday went back, and camped him for about 15 minutes and he spawned. Then immediately spawned again after we killed him. So, seems to be random, just rare and I think I got lucky yesterday. Both times dropped the arms (which rock). Both times he spawned inside the hull of the ship, in the back. Good luck.

As you approach the beach from the lighthouse, stay on the left hand wall. Toward the back corner is a large shipwreck. He is inside. He does have placeholders. Keep killing them and eventually he will spawn. My experience has been that he is not a rare spawn, and the dull metallic sleeves seem to be his more common drop.
