The level listed here is way high. I'm gonna guess these top out at 35th. Order of power from weakest to strongest is Diseased, Escaped, Feral, Savage.
They drop 3 types of Mushrooms: Clarifying (Clarity), Penicilin (Group heal) and Invigorating (Cleric HP buff). I have killed hundreds and have never seen Primordial Substance drop, whatever that is.
(Just checked Primordial Substance and it's been edited off of what drops it. Primordial drops from mid 50s mobs.)
No DoT "cancels regen". None of them. DoT's are Damage over Time. If each tick you do more damage than something regens you start to kill it. This does not cancel the regen, it mearly does mroe damage than the regen rate.
Many times my druid gets hit with a DOT that is more powerful then his current regen spell and it will completly cancel the regen. The regen goes away permanently until the DOT dies and I can recast regen.
These con dark blue at level 40 and 41. They hit VERY hard as posted AND the regen rate IS insane. Casters in my opinion have a better chance than melee against these, Melee can't hit fast enough or hard enough to take one of these down. Casters can nuke, but it's a near thing, the mana you have to go through to kill it is about 3 times as much as any other mob on the beach. Pet classes with a healer works. For rest it is bad news.
Did these guys get nerfed? If so, It sounds like a good thing. I've been fighting them and other stuff in the tunnel in a small group: 38 Pally, 37 Mage and 42 Enchie. We have decent gear, but are not super twinks. We didn't have any major problems with these guys. (The broken skull mystics that ocassionally wander the tunnel are much worse.) The enchie was able to handle adds, and the pally and mage pet can take them out one at a time easily. I agree that they are hard to root or snare and have pretty high magic resistance. That does make them a poor target for a solo druid when combined with cramped quaters for kiting. (They are a bit tougher than the other similar level mobs, but not what's been posted here.) I've watched a quite a few trains go by. The flowers can keep up with the drogmors so I don't think they have too much extra run speed. None of the ones we saw were higher than 37 by the way.
I have to agree with you. I (a lvl 43 Ranger) was grouped with a lvl 38 Shammy, and we had absolutely no problem with these. They do resist a lot, but I had no real difficulty taking these out (of course, the shammy haste spell and DoTs may have negated the regen rate). They were dark blue to me (I don't know what they conned to the shammy), and I would guess they are in the mid-30's.
They drop mushrooms with spell effects, clarity, a HP buff & a healing one. All are lore & rare drop, will continue to camp to see if they drop any others. The ones ive been camping are by the castle steps btw.
I think that all mobs in the area have a chance to drop those mushrooms. I have seen an actual shroom drop them as well, at least the clarity one, which kind of makes sense. Anyway my
The biggest danger about these is their AWESOME regen rate. Not only these, but all drogmars. As a 52 druid, I tried kiting 4 (green to dark blue), and was able to kill ONE before I had to gate. This was with KEI, FT1, Maxxed Wis, AND a mount...
These are at the best spot in this zone for kiting. There is a (fairly) open area just outside the fort. There are also some mushrooms that spawn there (haven't tried 'em yet.. prolly taste like portabello). Kiting the Drogmars is practically impossible solo, unless you can chain nuke like a fully automatic missile laincher (/drool).
Between the pirate town (the one near Dulak's zone), and the crest of the hill where these spawn, there is an area that would be good for kiting pirates, if you could run the fine line between the pirates' and the lizards' agro radius. The lizards' agro radius is not huge, but it is difficult to tell where it is, because you can't see them until you are right on top of them.
They drop some sort of fungal compost regularly... Not a meal, not good at vendor, don't know of any quests for it, so either it's garbage, or it's tradeskill fodder.
To be extremely specific on the lizards' regen rate, they all get back 10% HP per tick. That means in 1 minute, they can go from 1% to full. If you kite them, and get even one single spell interrupt, gate. If you group them, and your tank falls, evac. They look weak, but are no joke.
One more note. For a dark blue lizard at 52, I got a half a blue bub of xp 8)

Well I don't know about you guys, but I think they outrun a bard w/ selo accelerando lol.. No kidding, I had him snared and I was sowed and He was still outrunning me.. Tough to root and snare, resisted a couple times
I Just killed one. Like all the other mobs in this zone, root breaks often. I just snared it, rooted it, and dotted, BUT, i also had 4 other mobs on me, it was the last to die.
I died because of one of these. THese hit for 120+ and to me, very hard. I died and had my corpse delivered to me by a 54 SK who also was attacked by one of em. He came back with 1/2 hp, and then proceeded to zone. Don't be fooled by lvl...
Not only do they hit hard, but some of the drogs regen like crazy. I was whacking on drog (not sure which one sorry) with a 56 cleric healing me. I was hitting for an average of 100 - 120 with my Black Acrylia halberd and didn't even take a dent out of this guy until the cleric went oom.
These are WAY underconned and more so than I have ever seen in EQ before. They make the trip back to the fort almost impossible without invis.
