Ok, I have been camping the Hungry Shark for about 3 days now. I was able to get the Head Chef to spawn numerous times. Yet, everytime he went down he dropped the necklace.(great for rangers by the way) Then last night after my KEI went down i was waiting for the respawn before i gated out. He spawned again. I managed to take him down with only 35% mana. Looted him and there it was the Sharkhide Shawl.
Its Shaman Only Great peice for a lower lvl Shammy still using quickness. I however am a 52 Mystic so this piece is past my time. Oh well it will make me some PPs.
I've camped this bugger for weeks on end. After killing him roughly 25 times, all I've seen from him are the ring and the necklace. Is the shawl even real? Ok, I've killed him at least 20 more times since my original post. No shawl EVER ! Either this no longer drops or it's a Stormhammer only item...?
Was up when I was checking my loot zones for nameds and he was up, easy kill but only dropped ring.Oh well, guess Sselen will have to get a different shoulder item.(btw, if u pull him to the corner with the hole in floor you can cast on him very easily.)
About the shawl.. you must be a shaman to use it i have the shawl now and it said race/class/ crap cant use it then i gave it to my 40 shaman and it said not he right lvl to use it.. Stupid camp i camped it for a whole lvl and got nothing out of it hopefuly it will sell then... Gkaz 54 Reaver of Povar
I've been spending most of my time in the dock area getting some AA xp and have killed the 2 chefs numerous(30) times without getting this guy to spawn. He seems to be more rare than say the named treasure sorter Neiben who I have seen plenty of times.
First, the bar he's in is the "The Hungry Shark" at loc -595 -575. There are 2 "a chef" in the bar's kitchen area.
Spawn time on every mob in the bar is 20 mins.
When I arrived, the bar was fully spawned. I killed 6 chefs (3 spawns) before this guy spawned the first time.
While there, I cleared the bar of all spawns, receiving all 4 medalions of service (perhaps 3 sets in all) for the brotherhood charm, and a bunch of other nodrop quest items:
A Map Legend A Compass Notation A faded, watermarked book A sharp glass shard
I also killed the shark under the bar a bunch of times - was suprised that a blue diamond dropped on him once.
In all, not a bad camp for loot and quest items...
Paindoom Lionsbane - 58 Ranger of Noble Dreams Painportation Airlines - 58 Druid of Noble Dreams
I have not fought this guy personally but from my experience in both Dulak and Gunthak EVERYTHING and I repeat EVERYTHING is underconned. Wheather based on the level suggested here or you normal CON msg. Just a word of advice!
I'm not totally sure I agree. I've solo'd a good bit in Gunthak as a level 38th, now 39th shaman. Yeah, mobs tend to be a bit more resistant here than some other equivalent zones, but it seems the xp takes that into account. All the stuff on the beach is dark blue con to me still and I solo non-stop. I'd consider myself moderately twinked. Love the YK zones, btw.
Also, my guess is this zone will out-do Karnor's for the "Best Trains" quite rapidly.
can anyone give specific info on this mob? how hard does he hit? Is he fast? lots of hp? could a 55 shammy solo him? Undercon, overcon... you get the idea. Apreciate any help
I'm a 57 Druid and I took him down without much difficulty today. He seems to be about right for his level. I'd estimate that he has maybe 3.5k hitpoints or so (based on the dots I cast on him: Winged Death x2, right clicky Drones of Doom x2, and about half of an epic dot). He is fast, but he only hit me two or three times (as I was running past him to re-root him) and all hits were for under 100 damage (but I believe he *can* double for 115, like Treasure Sorter Neiben can).
His PH seems to be 'a chef'. When I saw him on track I camoed, tracked him to the resturaunt (or tavern), went inside and targeted him, ran back out and pulled him with Ensnare (to a spot just in front of the building and a little to the east). He pathed right out the front door and brought no one with him. From there it was a simple matter of keeping him rooted and cooking him down. Like all mobs in this zone, he seems to break root frequently.
There was an iffy moment when I allowed him to chase me nearly into the path of a roaming Blackhand, but fortunately I didn't get *too* close. There were no adds.
He dropped the amulet, which I think is a really nice little item.
