Bastion of Thunder is now the new HotZone.

These are the only safe Charmables in the zone.
At least in my meter of 'safe' .
They Don't summon, but they do run 'almost' SoW speed.
Theyre well-spaced and there are no wanderers.

At Level 69 I get 9% AA exp per kill.
About 19% with Infusion of the Faithful popped.

Can kill about 3-4 Mobs before my Charm ends, & then waste the pet.
I'm doing about 15% Regular Experience per hour here.
Keep in mind I'm in a Hell-Level ( 69 ).

Remember, 9% AA exp per Kill for a better reference.

Yes the healers are annoying, what's more annoying is Charming a caster, since they'll Chain-nuke ( which does less damage than melee, and breaks your root )

If you get a caster, don't slow the next Mob, let it rip up your pet, Kill the pet after the fight and get a new One.

Once you get a Warrior just rip up the whole yard . When Charm breaks simply run a good distance and use a Fast-casting ( focus effects ) root ( or Mez ) & re-charm.

soloing them as a chanter is doable, but not enjoyable, because when charm breaks, you better have a plan, because they move somewhat quickly, and you cant run because of adds.

otherwise, they are easy. still perfer hero shrine for CoD though.

I decided to try these guys when I noticed they didn't summon. They are soloable but the heals are a pain in the ass. For necros root, snare, load up long lasting lower DPS DoTs, then load up higher end DPS DoTs (FP, BoT, Horror) then chain nuke and repeat high DPS dots as required ;P Once you have space kite the buggars with a stabber pet.

Even then the healing is a hassle and you may find yourself having to lather rinse and repeat. With BA4, AE4, good nukes and good FT they are doable but i'm not yet convinced they make a good exp spot for people that can do them - fun for a change though and not many can say they have soloed in BoT :)

Went there for the first time this week (Dec 2003) and our group (all level 62) camped the Stormriders for a while.

Every one conned blue to me - so in the 90 mins that we were there not one was level 62. (With the new targetting ring now working, this is true of every mob I tanked, ie all of them).

The one attempt we made at a Wake of Tranquility wouldnt work as the mob was too high (WoT works to level 60 - so therefore that Stormrider was level 61).

Druid was able to use a high level harmonise effectively on the two that spawn close together.

These creatures have relatively low hp and not special DPS - they compare with Cactii in Plane of Storms. They also have a very low aggro radius making pulling and engaging them simple and safe.

The Stormwatchers will assist if you pull close to one - so dont.

Other comments regarding gate and healing (they cast complete heal in around 5 seconds) are correct - if you pull them away from their spawn point, expect 1 / 4 to gate.

The XP on these was simply amazing at 62.

Stormriders as far as i know, dont summon, however get to close to the golems things are a very bad move, the caster type of stormriders always try to gate out at 20% and also every now and then heals themselves..

solo'd some on my 65 160aa wizard. I went for a stormwater who turned out to have a summoning capability. Zoned out with 94% of my health left- the stormriders are easy, themselves, with telekin SOS draught of ro. also dropped the blood which tradeskillers seemed very eager to get.

All drop from these mobs. Some are casters (CH a lot, cleric line o spells). Seem to have uber dps, but low hps.

Well my whole time there last night.. I got 5 Ethereal Parchments..and 2 Spectral parchments from winning rolls on the loot.. I was only there for like 4 maybe 5 hours at the most.. dinged 4 aa's and also half way through my 5th now..
