I just got my 55 cleric bot flagged to try and duo these things. Turns out it's a piece of cake. The bst is not uber geared at all, 6200 hp buffed and about 100 aa's. I complete heal at 60% to be safe, and haven't had any problems so far. They do resist slow sometimes, but that's what protective spirit disc is for =)

Went and did the alt access quest tonight and got a group in here. In about 2 hrs we had 4 ornate patterns drop ( chain and leather i think ). These guys do summon but if your fast its ok.

They have lots of HP btw...Thats why its nto as good as PoE xp. It's about the same per kill in zone on average but the time it takes is a bit longer per kill. Ornate is a rarity anymore. I have been in groups lately moving from entrance all the way to jiva's tower and a few switchbacks into it, and havent seen any ornate drop. Then one time the first 2 mobs we killed both dropped ornate leather wristbands. It's the luck of the draw.

i can kill it solo with my 65 shaman.
As soon as you zone into Sol Ro's tower, there are 2 roamers that pass infront of you and then 2 guarding the arches to the left and right. Then 2 more guarding the stairs, then 2 more at the top of the stairs. So there are plenty of mobs to keep a group busy.
A group of 5 or 6 can do these just fine. All you need is a tank with 6k+ unbuffed hp's, A druid or cleric for healing, a sham or chanty for debuff + slow, and DPS.
Need to be able to tank these mobs unslowed until they are slowed and need to have good agro in order for the healer not to get agro. Also, if you can't split these on pull, you need to be able to tank 2 of them till both slowed AND keep agro off healer and slower (it can be done, I did it easy).
HUGE agro radius. Lull or FD split because they wont come single. I slowed them with my Truncheon of Doom so they aren't super resistant. They hit for 600's to low 100's (no disc). They dont rampage, flurry or cast spells. If you can take Kriger's in BoT, then you can take these even easier, which is why you can take 2 of them slowed without much trouble at all.
Our group did just fine and only had 1 death on a slow resist.

A cleric would have been nice to fill the last spot, but we did it without one... Killed about 10 or more of these and no ornate drops at all. Got a few EP's and gems is all.

I know this is an old post, and I just really want to brag, but I 2boxed this with a 67 shaman and a 66 mage. Pulled with slow and sent in pets and ran around till pet got aggro. Not too difficult, used Q 2x on mage pet and Spirit of Leopard, and went down fairly easily. Not too tough as long as you can get singles. Accidently pulled 2 once and went down in seconds.

I three box the SolRo loop with Monk/Shaman/Cleric.
If you've advanced enough to be flagged for SolRo Tower, the yard trash well be no big challenge.

Not necessarily true on the tank. Being a 65 Pally with 5.5k unbuffed I tank these just fine. Usual group is Pally/Wiz/Monk/BST/CLR/DRU. Not as great exp as Earth, but no rampages, and decent drops.
I trioed these on my 64 war with about 5.8khp unbuffed.

yes these things summon
no you really dont need a raid to kill these but a 6 man group could do it (slower,healer,mezzer,2dps,1tank)
