Drayen Blackguard  

this npc gives no positive or negative faction for killing it

I went to the mountains to kill some Hill Giant. I had read about this guy and the Gale Weaver Shield quest and was curious. I ask a ranger in zone if he had Blackguard on his tracker. I then asked if he and his group, of mid thirties friends, would like to help me kill him in exchange for temperance. On the way to the bandit camp some of my new group members started asking why a level 50 cleric needed help killing a bandit. When we got to the camp I pacified Blackguard and started killing the rest of the bandit. They all went down with one or two swings of my Soul Stripper. I started to worry that I had recruited help for no reason and was going to look like an idiot. Thankfully Mr. Drayen Blackguard did not disappoint. He resisted most of the spells we through at him and six of us meleed him for eight minutes before he started to run at 20% health. “Holy Hit Points” was the quote of the day. Any way I got the idle, they got Temp and Blackguard got his.

Drayen Blackguard /loc in Rathe Mountains is pos 3060 pos 1218 in the Bandit Camp inside the southern tent. He hits between 40-139 and hits slow. Cannot be snared, or rooted. I'm a level 62 druid I kited him around and threw Wildfire on him about 12 times, so he's got about 12-15k HP, and yes I soloed him. He seems to have high magic resist because my stun/nuke spell wouldn't land, but low fire resist. Hope this helps anyone that needs his piece for the uber Shield =)

This guy just wasted my group while we were looking for tarsuk, the group was a 35 ranger a 51 warrior and 51 cleric.

He is not 45th he is 50th and has alot of hit points. He hits for about 80 to 110 points of damage.
