At lvl 69 (with few OoW spells yet) this was pretty easy. The only tricky thing was getting there and breaking the 3 room spawn but even that was no big deal. I charmed one of the scarabs outside of the room with Command of Druzzil and then just mezzed and killed the 3 in the room. As soon as the initial 3 mobs were down it was np with ft15 bla bla to have mana going. Spawn time is about 22 mins or so. Got the Yrendan Scarab at 3rd pop cycle. Was easy with charmed hasted pet. On to Vxed for the 3rd piece :)
Just took it down solo. I went directly to the camp with Pacification because some can see invis. Pacify and run pass them fast, you'll be fine.
At camp, charmed "a dread locust" and used the same pet for 4 hours. Buffed him, and haste on pet. Killing the 3 spawns for 4 hours. (Spawn time = 20 mins)
When named poped, mezzed it with "Bliss", debuffed him: slowed, crippled and stuff. Casted rune on pet and waited until mez breaks itself. Careful, that dide dispells tho and can fear. Was only feared once for few seconds. Be sure to have clean the hallway getting to there so you don't get adds in case of fear.
Pet engaged him and I started nuking at 90%, be sure to keep him rooted. Summoned me sometimes but back off asap to wall. Be sure to have a rune on you.
It was an easy kill with not many HP's with a charmed pet with haste. Locs were -1300, -850.
There were several brief planned zone outages yesterday, including poj, most OoO zones and a lot of other epic 1.5 zones. I went to PiJ to set up for the long horror camp, but found another group clearing their way to him. They were nice enough to let me tag along.
Yrendn was up, so they killed him, got the staff section and wished me best of luck. Yrendan popped as part of the respawns. That means twice in a row.
War caller Kaavi was also up after the outages. First time I have seen him after several spawn checks.
Sony did say they had examined the first Epics and sought to remove the bottlenecks. Maybe the /feedbacks on how horrible a bottleneck this was made them realise and change it?
Good luck getting him, hopefully it's not a 40 hour camp anymore!
We went on the night of October 1st. We cleared the room the first time around and the beetle popped on respawn. Resisted tash so I(sk) took a decent amount of damage until it was slowed. Popped leechcurse and then HT and that was that. Dropped breastplate along with staff piece. Loc was approx -1300, -850. G'luck
12 hours and 24 min at camp before we got it to spawn, 20min respawn on all the 3 spawns in the room. It's the SE corner of the caves when you get to the split at the SE corner take a right. It is that SSE room.... Long.. boring... bring a book
Did it with me (67 chanter) and a 65 shaman, both well geared, mob pop'd in the left of the room others said it only pop'd in the right i'm sure it's anywhere there is an open spot for it to pop, much like camping Frenzied in Lguk.
It appears to be any of the three spawn points in that room. My camp experience was within 2-3 hours and by the sound of it I was fortunate. Kinda reminds me of camping for the ring of the ancients in OoT.
Sorry cant help with spawn time, it was up when I go there. I paced the two in room then pulled the namer. It tashed then feared me. I ran down the hall and picked up 3 golems. Thank GOD for ER. and fast mez. I was at 180 tashed and still got feared =(. hope this helps
I cleared back to this camp (close to -1300 and -850) with a group then they left me (67 chanter) with my cleric (65.) The yrendan scarab pops in one of the three static scarab spawns. There is a split, one leads to the scarabs and the other to worms so it's easy to determine. While waiting for pop I was charming one and killing the other while allowing my charm pet to whither so I can nuke it dead when done.
When the yrendan popped I mezzed it and the one beside it. Charmed the third. While mezzed I tashed, slowed, crippled and rooted it. Reapplied mez and hasted my pet while keeping the third scarab mezzed.
Make sure you have your MR up as the scarab will attempt to fear you (it's an enchanter after all, heheh.) Basically pet it to death while I and my cleric nuked it down. Looted the scarab and gated it out. I know of some chanters that solo'd this mob and it wouldn't be that difficult. Just getting there is a pain.
Mine dropped the breastplate which I turned in for 7k tribute.
Did him today overkill with my 57 shammy - 65 mage - and 65 cleric! max hit was 500ish is and ench type Dropped Boots and Carapace About location didnt remember but its the dead end where you will find 3 or 4 beetles in the room and he can be paci. to be sure for single pull.
Had a group with 65 War, 65 Shammy, 63 Cleric and 63 War. Tried to pacy the 3 bugs in room including Yrendan, but Yrendan won't be pacy'ed. Pacy'ed other bugs in room and tried to pull Yrendan single. Well Yrendan and another bug came. The 63 Warrior offtanked aggro on the add. The 65 Warrior was repeatedly hit for 400+ and died within 20 seconds. Too fast for a CH to land. The rest of the group tried engaging but wiped quickly. The bug casts and seems to be an enchanter class.
Bug is found in the far back of caves where there are two dead end rooms around -1300, -850. This bug was up directly after a server restart.
Don't underestimate this bug - not as easy as previous posts say it is. Will try him again with a couple more people in group next time. =)
Not much tougher than the other scarabs in this area, it spawned for my group near loc -1100, -1000. This is a cave at then end of a tunnel in the hidden tunnels behind the aforementioned ghost dwarf, who is not undead and regular invis works fine on. It did hit for a bit more than the other bugs, maybe 400-500 max hit. My group, which was more than adequate, was:
60 War 57 SK 60 Shammy 63 Necro 65 Cleric
Defensive + Slow = Easy kill
It dropped the Rigid Beetle Carapace, an Etheral Parchment, and a crystalized cloudy eyes.
we did it the other night with a duo of a 65 chanter with charmed pet & a 57 druid dotting the heck out of it. It went down so fast it seemed like an undercon.
