Was looking for the closest enemy to nexus that was 45 today to level up my defensive skills at level 60 on Oakwynd, and can confirm I fought a level 45 Vampyre Bat, so 46 is not the minimum level. Most bats were 47 though.

just have to say that i agree with u, as a shaman i enjoy taking on hard mobs when i get bored, wait till ur into ur 60's and you can have fun in the planes without worring. :)
When I fight in Maiden's Eye, I usually take Gorangas with a guild group (47 chanter), but yesterday we tried the Coterie houses. Vampire bats all around, never seen one not blue. But these guys have MAJOR resists, wihtoiut tash, a Red Goranga Hunter can be mezzed first time usually (as long as its in the range of Entrance), every one of these resisted mez without tash. So be careful when pulling these to not get too many, your chanter wont be too heppy )

These things love taking you buy surprise...especially when you've pulled what you really want. They have a ton of HP, and I have never seen them drop ANY decent loot, just giant bat wings and furs. Their EXP output doesn't seem worth the effort at all. I avoid them if at all possible.

Difficult to believe the level is 48, they do not ven budge for DD of 500 hp damage.
Be cqrefull with these guys in numbers, they can take on a whole grp of 50 plus
