I had to stand in his room and clear out the trash mobs three times before a duplicate Paffa spawned that was targetable/killable for the purpose of the Lxanvom raid conqueror achievement.

I had to take down the puslings around him and wait a few minutes before I could target him. After a few minutes, I brought out my merc and went in. A lvl 65 Enchanter managed to slow him and land a dot and some nukes. During the fight, a few more puslings popped (I'm not sure if it was timing or if he spawned them), so I just turned my attention to them and went back to Banord. All of this was done with a level 81 Ranger and 65 Enchanter (Enchanter was just there for a PL).

Simple fight for a 75 ranger - headshot all the pulslings down easy, so you just need to focus on Paffa himself. I resisted all his casts so I don't know how it would have gone with some resist failures, but I didn't even have to pop any activated AA's such as weapon shield. I just chain nuked him with the fast ranger nukes whilst melee'ing. Fight only lasted a couple of mins.

I have 900 aa's.... his hardest hit on me was in the region of 495

OK all here is an overview of how me and my guild did it. We only had about 15 poeple on riad average level 64, it was a bit hard but we did it. When you first zone in have enchanters Dire Charm the little rats that spawn randomly around zin.

Once you are fully buffed head hug the left wall (do not go into the room next to his then med / buff up, because they can repop at the last few waves) to start the event you just have to enter his room, every 4 minutes or so 5 puslings will spawn. 2 enchanters would be good to mez 4 of them and have everyone else assist on MT. This continues for 3 waves then on the 4th wave he becomes targatable.

At this point I would send pets in on these guys and taunt them ( do not hit ) and have enchanters mezz them all, then go in and kill him. He is easy enough, hits for 900 max, quad worse case, slowable. He has very little hp so just do as much dps as possible before next respawn. once you kill him all the other guys die.

Sorry if I repeat stuff already on this forum :) good luck all.
1-group tactic

This guy can be 1-grouped pretty easily even without full elemental geared people if you do it right.

My group was:
65 Ranger
65 Cleric
65 Cleric
65 Enchanter
65 Enchanter
65 Warrior

One of the clerics I'll admit is pretty well geared and EP, the other is decently equipped and non-EP. Same goes for the chanters. Warrior was about 9.8K buffed. I'm VT geared.

What we did was clear to Paffa and kill the little guys from his room up until he became Overlord Banord Paffa. Once that happened, we got 2 puslings, I (ranger) snared them both and chanters charmed. Now, for his guards in his room, I went in with WS, aggroed all of the puslings, and ran them all the way by zoneline and clicked the CoDb chair. Now, I'm in CoDb with about 6 little puslings running after me, but aside from the Spectre of Corruption, there's nothing in there but space to kite. So, kiter has all the puslings down there and kites them in circles. With Paffa, warrior discs furious on Paffa for hard aggro then goes defensive immediately after. Chanters send pets, tash, cripple, probably slow (not sure *shrug* I'm just a kiter :-P), and clerics run a tight spam heal.

All in all, even with a break or two in charm, chanters can recharm quickly and the fight goes smoothly.

I don't know if the puslings can be charmed by a necro or not, but if they can, substitute one chanter for a necro and you've got yourself a pusling pet AND sweet necro DPS, plus a guy to take the gloves :-).

I'm on FV where this stuff is droppable, so I farm this guy when the opportunity presents itself. Hope this helps you guys out.

EDIT - Forgot to add, we usually get him down in 4 minutes (sometimes less), and that's about the time where the second wave of puslings come. When that happens, chanters I mez 'em. Oh, and if any unmezzables pop on second wave, chanter be ready to chain rune the cleric that gets aggro :-D

Slowable: Yes
Rampage: slowly
Dunno about Hps or Max hit...he was a relatively easy fight. It was the adds that hurt. You will get pops during the fight. Just have a good CC team and you are all set.

FYI if you kill Paffa with adds up, they despawn. so no after killing.

Location: Zin into CoD and go to the first 4-way. Turn left and go straight down that hallway. You can't miss his room.

Currently, our guilds are planning to take down Paffa every time he's up since he's just so darn easy. Tactics for him are straightforward, quick, and don't require any complex planning.

Our group was complete overkill, because we weren't actually sure what to expect at first. 30 people, average Raid Level 63 (lots of flagged lower levels along with us). Really, 2 groups of average 63-65 should be able to handle this with the appropriate tactics. Just use what I list below on a more streamlined scale.

Key is to get Dire Charmed pets, and insure you have at least 2 Crowd Control and 2 adept healers. There are three easily obtained Dire Charmable MOBS from the zone in, just keep killing yard trash until the charmable mobs pop, and those who can use them have them in tow. Once that is taken care of, buff up in the entry way, and quickly clear a path to where the Paffa 'event' starts.

Once the event starts, it is pure DPS. We would pull the mobs, mez them and drop them one by one to concentrate firepower. We had MORE than enough time between spawns due to sheer numbers, but seriously, 2 groups should be more than adequate DPS to give you time between spawns, assuming you have DCed MOBs.

As mentioned in previous posts, the key is to swarm Paffa the moment he can be targetted. Paffa is a beast in Melee, so the Main Tank absolutely, positively must Incite, then pop Furious. Once he pops Furious, thats 12 seconds where he can grab aggro and not worry about damage. The 2 Healers should be set up so one is Complete Healing, the other Spot Healing. Once Furious burns and the Main Tank hits Defensive, it's all a matter of DPS. If another spawn comes in, the Crowd Control should be able to handle it (with perhaps the exception of one or two MOBs that cannot be mezzed, and those can then be handled by the aforementioned Dire Charmed pets).

3 groups, with only 1 DC pet, was MORE than enough, so depending on the makeup and gear, 2 groups should certainly be possible.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 23 2003 at 7:43 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Paffa becomes targetable as soon as the 4th wave pops, pull them, mez them, debuff paffa, engage paffa (he's perma-rooted), kill paffa (while keeping the 4th wave mez'd) and the mez'd mobs will despawn upon Paffa's demise.

I just assisted in taking this mob down, and he conned yellow to me at 65, so his levellisted is incorrect, unless he has a varying range. He dropped a spectral, etherial, and the veil.

66 is indeed correct - he's yellow to lvl 64 and 65 people. We also killed him last night, and I got the Veil (on AB).

As soon as he becomes targettable, focus your attacks on him, because the moment he dies, the adds in his room despawn. Mez or offtank the last wave rather than trying to clear them.

Post above was wrong for me.. maybe event change, I dunno..
How it was :

First, Paffa got 5 guard, not 4.
when u enter the room an emote will tell you that the timer is started.
U got 4mins to clean the 5 mobs, before 5 more pops, Paffa still untargetable.
After the firts wave off adds, 5 more will pop 4 mins later, clean them, Paffa still untargetable.
(that is 5 base mobs + 2 waves of 5).
after 4mins, Paffa become targetable (name change to Overlord Banord Paffa), and he pop a last wave of 5, mez them and kill banord.
I'm not sure if he pop 5 more 4mins after he become targetable, but he should be dead by this time.
Don't fight in his room, sometimes (maybe when too close ?) Banord (the untargetable version) will hit you while you fight his guards...
Hope this help.

Paffa is quite simple actually. Clear the room before his and set up your camp there. Let the puller proceed to his room. Paffa is not targetable at this point.

Pull out of the 4 mobs in Paffa's room and kill them. This will start a timer and every three minutes or so a new wave of 4 mobs will spawn. After you have killed three of these waves, Paffa becomes targetable. Head in and knock him over. If you are too slow you will get cought by the next wave so if you are low on DPS, bring a mezzer and offtank.

Paffa has only around 40,000 HP. He hits for around 900, rampages slowly and has a single target proc which stuns for 10 seconds or so but does no damage beside that. Paffa is perma-rooted.

Piece of cake.

Yes, he has very low hp. So we just had everyone go all out on him when he became targetted and had the chanters mez any waves of adds that he called.
