65 Ranger / 65 Shaman Agnarr

My ranger is fairly decent around 10.5k HP and mostly time geared but with the shaman which was mostly planar but no time gear. Anyway, took around 4-minutes just the two of us and the shaman running out of mana. No casting by the Ranger so in theory, it could have lasted much longer. Partial slow and cripple - appeared to not be an issue. Ranger ended with 91% mana and shaman with 21%. He did CHeal like 3-4 times which were aggravating but not a big deal.... No idea what max hit was. In case someone missed the topic - we are only level 65 with LDON as the max expansion. Absolutely, no augments on either character have been achieved.

I had a vann militis or whatever pet, soloing this guy with my 65 chanter and a tier 1 cleric merc.

Only one of his adds is mezzable with my current mez and even then it only lasts 54 seconds, so i spent a lot of time trying root/mez them.

Had him down to about 20%, charm broke, recharmed, had him down to 2% and charm broke again and my cleric was oom and both adds were free.

Gonna go back and try him again tommorrow =)

Just killed him with shaman/wiz and tank/healer mercs. All level 66. Would have had my bard there and a second merc tank ubt I am at work on my laptop, can't run three accounts without a lot of heat.

Anyways, focus on the single add first, goes down quick with shaman meleeing after debuffs and adding panther. Gaukr can only be slowed with disease based slow so don't bother unless you have it (I don't yet, reroll on Mayong) and just start chaining level 66 and 64 fire rains until dead.

Dropped mask, ring of torden and rune, handed in by wizard and got Strike of Solusek.
Soloed him.

I just soloed Gaukr Sandstorm on the FV server. I am a 70sk with 204aa. I currently have 11.3k hp/ 2870 ac. This was an easy kill for me. I managed to resist a lot of his spells, and used my willsapper to partially slow him. He hit me for max of 607 and his highest nuke that landed was 1200 or so. He dropped the greaves mold.
Soloed him.

Gimp my ass
# May 10 2007 at 9:03 PM Rating: Decent
So after seeing all these posts about how this guy is all 'gimp' and stuff, and how he is so easy, I figured I could take him out no problem with my monk, who is geared with DoN GM gear and TSS droppable gear. Has a little over 9k hps with tenacity and over 1700 AC, don't remember exactly how much, and has 294 AA's. I boxed him with a 4500 mana pool cleric, Yea..i know that's gimp, but hey, so is this mob, right? Figured it woulden't be a problem. Just to be safe, I would use my Infusion vet AA to boost all my resistances up to being maxed out.

Lost the fight both times. He would hit me 2 and 3 times in a row with the 1500 dmg proc, never once resisted it, even with resistances amped up. And he also landed some regular melee hits for 1500, always would kill me with it. And he would heal himself around 50% (lowest I got him down to was about 25%), and would dispel me. Had the cleric Chain Chealing, and HoT'ing, and still got dropped both fights. Granted my monk is only level 66 right now, he was still blue, so I have concluded that anyone saying he is 'cake' or 'gimp' that is around my monks level is either rigged, hacking, or playing a class that really just needs a nerf, heheheh. Or maybe this guy has been tuned up a bit since all these posts. Maybe this guy is somewhat easy for some, especially for those that are level 75 and have top of the line gear, and thousands of AA's. But this guy being 'gimp' for anyone unlike that is just *********

I just attempted this guy solo. I am rather mediocre as a 71 SK with only 9250HP and 2150 AC unbuffed. I fought him for 8-10 min only to get him to a low of 35% or so. Parts of the fight were cake, others were pretty bad like when he would proc the 1500pt DD three times in a row. Tap tanking was working very well but he did two 1500's in a row then three in a row shortly after which put me to 20% (lifetaps running constantly at this point). I went to run and FD but he did a 1500DD, 488, 258 and 1500 kill shot. He healed him self at least twice for percentages unknown to me. I was at 38% mana when I died. Had I not chickened out there is a very slight chance I could have beat him, it would have taken a few crit blasts and or heals on lifetaps for this to occur. If I could manage to get a better 1hs rather than the two pieces of trash I have (was using the Malignorr's Sword) I could take him solo no problem. If my shaman were level 62 it would be cake to duo. If you are better geared or better aa'd (only 170 here) I wouldn't think you would have any trouble soloing this mob. You will need a way to single him, his two adds will aggro.

From what I could see from battle spam after my death he casts Reckoning, Annulled me (2 buff slots) and "Gaukr Sandstorm is Completely Healed"... talk about a PITA.

Genii

Killed with 70 War and 70 Druid

350+ average resists with MR being maxed at 541.
Tanked fine, max hit was around 650, and druid only needed to heal about three times.
his 1500 stun AE only hit for around 1250, and shook off stun every time.

Majorly resistand to magic/fire dots, so I just nuked with ancient cold nuke.
Was about a 10 minute fight with Druid ending up OoM from nuking him.

Heals at 50% and will keep healing until iether oom or dead.
And In my case, 2.0/offhand isnt enough DPS, but stun proc did help alot to get him down to around 15% by the time he ran out f mana =)

dropped a spectral parchment and a glyphed rune words.

This guy and all the other pad named's are not hard at all. A normal bot group that can kill krigers will most likely be able to kill any of the pad named's.

A friend and I can do all of the pad named's with me tanking (65 sk, no elemental gear), her (65 druid, ft 6 or so) and a boxed enchanter who will charm an elemental for the dps. Bit risky, but very fun lol

Did they make this guy easier?
# Jun 09 2004 at 11:40 AM Rating: Decent
Over the past month I have been in pick up groups at MS and have dropped this guy a half dozen times. I am a level 65 Cleric. The lowest my mana pool EVER got to was about 35%. We never have seemed to have any difficulty at all. In addition to watching the tank, I will also have my fast stun spell up, and watch for when the mob starts to cast a spell and stun him with it. Just seems reading all the posts below is suggesting this guy is a pretty difficult mob, which is why I am asking if he was made easier???
No cake walk but not imposible
# May 15 2004 at 3:10 PM Rating: Decent
My group took him no problem, I (64 pally 6.8k hp 1.4k ac) tanked him with a 64 cleric, 65 chanter, 65 ranger, 65 shammy, and a 65 wizzy. I chain stuned the whole time and landed mabey 2 of them the chanter landed a slow at about 80% and the shammy laned 1 at just under 50% but it was only partial. Cleric had about 1 ch left when he went down and all the rest of us were just about oom. All he droped was the ring and a SP, I felt cheated cuz I was the only one that didn't get an ornate that night but you win some you loose some, and I loose all of then ;)
Resistant
# May 12 2004 at 9:00 AM Rating: Decent
This mob is Very resistant. 65 Enchanter got 12 resists in a row before I (65 Paladin) went down. The only reason I died though is the Cleric was too busy chatting in group chat and didnt get the heal off in time. Had plenty of time though lol.... Anyway not a trivial encounter but a Shaman would be a bonus as they seem to have a better time of slowing him than Enchanters.

Took him.

It was an awesome fight

65 war , around 8kish hp, 62 druid (me, the healer), 65 shaman, 64 chanter, 65 rogue, and 65 ranger.

Chanter tashed, i kept chain quick healing the warr, Shammy died before he could get slow off, so Chanter slowed him. then just CHed, and quick healed when necesary. He did heal himself a few times, but he never CHed himself. I got my last CH off right as the warr hit 10 percent hp =) . I was then 00m, but he dropped a second or two after i went 00m. It was an awesome fight, and my friends were all saying we were going to wipe, but we did it! =)

He is definetly not that much magic resistant i can land just about every draught of thunder i throw his way which is magic based. Also ofcourse the lure spells work like a charm. But very easy to kill just make sure people know what they are doing.

Get a 1900+AC paly to tank him and the encounter becomes trivial slowed or not (though our shamy does usually get him on 3-4 shots, chanty even got him this last time). A charmed elemental thrown at him and little other dps is needed (went that way to finaly do him Paly, Shamy, Chanty only).

dunno if anyone has said this anywhere yet but this guy not only has the normal Jord DD Proc but he also can cast a debuff which he did to us and ended up debuffing the tanks Virt, well we were kinda dumb and tried to keep fighting instead of having the bard mez him and having the cleric recast virt on the tank... O wellz.

Forgot to mention, group was: 63 Cleric, 65 Mage, 65 SK, 61 Bst, 65 Brd.

Duoed this guy with My enchanter and a cleric friend using an Earth Elemental to tank. Gave Earth ele a full set of mage gear, Virtue, Speed of Vallon, and Night's Dark Terror. Easy kill, just make sure to spam /pet back off button on enrage. Thanks for the Ring of Torden, and wasting my time also.

Took him out with 65 cleric, 65 shammy, 65 SK(tank), all 3 well equipped, 65 ranger, 62 warrior and myself 63 Mage at the time. Cleric went oom at mob 20% health....had to use Divine arbitration to keep SK alive, lost count after 22 consecutive FBoTs. Btw, those heals are CH's, just does only approx 12% of his health due to the amount of HPs this dude has. Luckily SK's HT popped with mob at 3% and the rest of us oom. Critical HT ended it. Dropped only the ring.

# Dec 03 2003 at 1:30 PM Rating: Decent
Senwen he maybe a cleric mob as are all the wing bosses but that doesn't make him a punk. Franky he is by far the toughest wing boss. All wing bosses will cleric nuke at times and sometimes this guy will chain nukes. But that is not common. Frankly you got lucky. I have seen this guy cream an 8k warrior with a very unfortunate set of procs. Also this guy is the one least likely at the end of the fight to try to heal himself over and over. Generally he prefers to to bash his way through your tank.

He also drops "Eye of the Sandstorm" , shield with 35 AC, 15 sv all and some other stats. War pal sk rog.

He hits for 700+ and procs a dd that does 1500, he is unslowable unless you have malise + tashan.

He can be duo'ed with an enchanter and cleric.

Gaukr Sandstorm spawns in the Deepest South point on the lower level. He will have 2 guards that stand next to him, directly in front of the portal to the upper Courtyard.

He has a very high MR from what I've understood and is very difficult to slow. Partially slowable by enchanters, fully by shaman.
RE: Spawn Point

He's VERY hard to slow, and he's not fully slowable by a shaman. I was able to slow him partially today with malo, tash, and OOS all on.
