You must confuse them with the predatory creepers which are snareable.
These here are most definitely not - not in 20+ hours of camping any mob that was sanreable with loathsome in name :p.

Great XP

These bad boys are fun to hunt we are using a ranger to harmony pull them and I tag em on Inc... They hit for 300-400 and have great AC and tons of HP -- They also put a FD touch on ye that makes ye have to sit and stand to get back up and get into teh fight. Other than that they are terrific to hunt and the Gargoyles that sit on teh towers next to them are great in between spawn times. Just a few notes if you go past the creeper and predator tree (ala - they share teh same spawn point) Be very careful the trees next to them are spider traps and will drop 3-4 spiders on ye at the drop of a hat. so stay near the city in most cases and dont go beyond the tree where these babys spawn and you will set yourself up for a great XP night. One other note only pull the Gargoyles from the towers on each end near the gate and through the gate. If you tag one on the side your in for at least 1 to 2 adds. Good luck!

Many Many EXPS to ye all!

Ruggs

I can Single pull all the gargs off the walls, from east to west, not only the corners. If you have a chanter in group, you can pull the ones inside too, or a good root person, two will come, then the third one will be a single on the next pull. For the ones on the walls, you just have to be far enough back, with a good bow, it's not a problem...
For the spiders...Chanter, ranger, high lvl cleric, all can help pull these spiders, and with a good group, they are punks. XP is decent up to about lvl 60ish, maybe 61, then it slows down in PoN, no matter what you fighting...

- They are always 60, always
- They can be harmonied(39 harm), slowed(lowest slower at camp was 54),stuned, CAN NOT BE snared or rooted
- don't appear to summon
- share spawn point with preditory Creepers
- get assisted by any other creature they pass
- proc Paralysis (FD proc) - click sit to clear FD
- don't cast but I think a chanter claimed doing a mana sieve on one.
- junk loots: luminous spider eye, silken strand
- good loot: nighmare arachnid silk about 50% average, Etherial parchement 1/20ish
- Enrage at 15 to 19% health
- can be mezzed but haven't seen any chanter lower than 61 do it. a 58 chanter COULD NOT mez them
- at level 60/61 they seem to award about 1 1/2 - 2 AA points per kill in a full group.
- they don't run on low health
- they are very ugly those with arachnaphobia should not hunt them

1 1/2-2AA points per kill, so killing just 3 or four mobs would make you a baron from even if you started the night with no AA at all, somehow that doesn't seem very likely to me, can I get a verification?

Haha, months ago I read that with a slanted eyebrow as well. Now that I'm in this exp range I realize he meant 1.5-2% AA exp per kill (probably a bit less now with the planes being a bit lower on the bonus exp, I'll head there tonight to confirm).

I realize this is an old topic, but depending on your level, AAs can fly ... At 65, my Druid gets 3% or so in HoH and BoT sometimes.

Aye depends on lvl and what you fight, my Necro solos HoH and gets 5% a kill, even with pet doing a lot of the damage...I sincerely doubt that in a group fighting these mobs (the lower lvl ones by the Gargs) you will get that kinda AA, but maybe the ones over the river, they are the lvl 60+ mobs aye, aa should be good there.

My 63 bard chant kites these and the predatory creepers. Gets 5-6% AA per kill. Takes about 6 minutes to kill one though. Once I get more aa's should take less.

These bad boys often drop warriors, paladins, rangers, clerics, druids, wizards, enchanters, mages, shaman, rogues, and pets of all types. They also drop necros and monks if they couldn't FD in time. Those are the more common drops.

But these guys have been known to also drop parchments every now and then. The parchment drop rates are better than the wraiths, but it's still pretty uncommon.

These guys are just damn nasty. They hit fast, they hit hard, and they will chase you down with their near SOW speed. They also cannot be snared or rooted so pray hard that your puller only brings brings back one at a time. Just two of them can kill a level 60 spell caster in less than 10 seconds. And if you get one chasing you while you're running for the zone, you'll only die tired.

Like I said, nasty stuff.

Loathsome are unsnare/rootable, predatory are snare rootable. Do not summon, but hit hard and fast, like most pop mobs.

These will proc FD on you too, not always a bad thing, esp if youre a chanter getting beat on.

Just wanted to let you know that the Loathsome Creepers are slowable, actually landed first time on about 20 that we tried.

These spiders as well as Predatory Creepers spawn in set, non roaming places below the cliff underneath the Werewolves to the far right of the zone. They are certainly 1 grouperable, but are NO joke. As a 62 enchanter, I can mezz them, which I highly recommend when you pull. Mezz, slow, taunt, then break. These spiders can hit for around 450 to 508 and they HURT. Either these or the Predatories are unsnarable, don't remember which, though it doesn't matter cuz they necer run. They drop the Nightmare bow silks, and an occasional ethereal parchments, which as you may know are used to acquire level 61 and 62 spells.
