Confirmed, he splits at 50% into two Anival the Blades, both at 100% health.
Another mob that splits into two. I thought when he died, but no death message so it's probably before death. The post below says 50 percent.

Take the 1st set of stairs to the right after you zone in.
Go to the big room at the end of the long hallway. He was in the NW corner for me.
The clicky door in this room took me to the little room back by the stairs at the zone-in

Is the split harder then the orginal ? Seemed to be the case.
Worse then the trash mobs that split.
The original stood there and died. Didn't seem to be too bad at all. I saw zero hits on me. But as an 84 necro it's not going to be bad. I was a little worried after they split on me.
It turned out ok but I could tell the two were really pounding. It's hard to give you data, my pet got most of the agro and I don't think I'm showing damage to my pet. The biggest hits on me were 500-600 hp.
Sorry I don't have good data, but I think the split mobs were tougher for sure.

just took him out today 1/15/07 w/ 71 and 73 mage and a 70 clr. :-)
Took him down with 13k tank and other lower level guildies in 6man group. Split in 2 at 50% so ae taunt rampage to keep agro and switched mobs during fight to bazu n proc anger on em. Easy really but no nice drops >(

This mob also drops Ornate Chain Leggings, dropped June 29th, 2004.
did with 12 and no clerics ( pick up raid ) was me 65 shaman 4druids 2wars and 5encs belt and gem drops all and all it was fun :P

Does he have a chance to drop ornate chain leggings? Or is it just silk, plate, and leather?

for ornate leather leggings it would be much easier to camp Laef Windfall (65) in BoT.

Anvil:
Quads max 855, AE Rampages when single, after the split doesn't AE rampage ( for us he hasn't ).
He and his splits cannot be slowed.
He splits between 70% and 20% ( I'm thinking it might even be a "proc" like rampage, since it does vary ).

He is slowable with Malosinia and Tash, single version and splits. Does not mitigate slow.
