Plane of Time Version: For event information, see this quest entry. Tallon Zek drops three items from his loot table.

Plane of Tactics Version: Max hit ~1,000; does not summon; shadowsteps himself around the room. Most of his damage output is from spells. Due to the "Tallon's Balance" debuff he casts, you will need to buff resists to ~450 before being able to resist many of his spell attacks.

Rathe Council Chambers Version: A chest with loot spawns after the Zek Brothers event.

In the Sepulcher of Order: Part of the event "The Triune God" (see this quest entry for the group version and this quest entry for the raid version).

Out of boredom.. I walked my 70 gimp ranger (am3 / eq ) up to Tallon's room.

When you stand by the south wall of his room and infusion of the faithful + autofire he only lands Tallon's Balance on you and that is negated by the infusion.
Just stay out of his hitbox (which will end up happening anyway if you hug the wall) and he will cast away at you and shadowstep about the room. Very easy fight

Easily Soloed by shaman, just make sure you have a clicker in first slot for his dispell.

I had Anguish gear back then.

i tired soloing this fellar, a 75 wizard with 468being my loweest resist unbuffed 538 selfbuffed , and self buffed.12.5khp <-- he chomped through me! being that was the first time i ever saw this guy. i was quite satified with getiting him to 64%=)_ /splat
2nd trie /splat aftr 50% on my third try my buddy had loged his cleric for the flag and had to Ch me /pout ~ hes dead and droped all/all neck w/ +3 regen int caster earring w/ spell haste V 4 specs + 1glymph + 2arrows

listen to what everyone has been saying get 450+ resist you have a 50/50 chance of resisting his little tricks once he gets that debuff on
~i donno have any vets , but if youhave em do use'em and he'll be way to easy~
the posts on get 450 resist stats~ LIES LIES people where just talking to look good~ if you buff them he'll debuff them thats what his innates do
my strat again at 468 smallest stat i had 50/50 chance of resist~ necro could esily LT off his bolt but i cant so this is what i did

Has to be the most one sided fight on everquest, period.
Did with Am3/Eq Ranger. Make sure all resists are 450 or higher.
What you do is go to top of the stairs next to the clicky door that brings you back to zone in and shoot arrows at him.
He doesn't summon, he will just shadow step around the room casting
his barbs. With right resists his barbs do 0 dmg.
I did /Autofire, afk'ed and watched episode of Simpsons,
came back didn't lose 1 hp entire fight according to Yalp.
And he had about 29 mins on corpse.

To be honest anything with Ranged Dps, Rangers, Wizards, Shamans any NON-Melee can solo this guy. Just use casting range and keep ur resists about 400's. He'll just port around the room and cast his barbs which won't do any dmg because you'll resist them everytime.

I tried to do this as a druid using DoTs.
It would be very easy and doable if it werent for one major problem.
I encountered one minor problem that was easily fixed. I kept getting hit by his resist debuff AE, so I would have to sit behind the stairs' wall after dotting. Secondly, the biggest problem, is that he would lose agro even though the dots were constantly kept up. This happened around 90%, he would be back to 100% in a few rounds. Not sure what to do to prevent this. It may be that the constant shooting by a ranger keeps agro and makes this strategy possible.

I don't care what he drops. I want him dead along with his minions. Tried him twice, killed him twice only to have most mellee dead by the end of the burn down and his minions rush in and wipe out all the casters that remain after Tallon dies. Invariably he somehow winds up making his way down the Hall to the repops. How do we control his minions. They can be mezzed, can they be charmed to help fight? Could groups 10, 11, and 12 be geared for off Tanking those mobs only? I want to finally make it to RZ for once. Any help from a successful RZ raid?

1. PAL or SK MT and ST.
2. His AEs are nasty, especially Barb of Tallon after Tallon's Balance debuff the raid. Yet, Barb of Tallon is target based with short range. Thus, except MT and ST, all other melee use range weapons only.
3. Spread out the raid, his arrows hit for 2K+.
4. Charm pets help a lot.

I held an open raid and downed this guy tonight, the Key is handling Tallon, Good tank would be a Paladin so when he shadowsteps the pally can stun to keep aggro, Keep Tallon Facing one direction and the raid behind him to avoid the nasty AoEs, Nuke at 75% burn at 15% and spam heal the tank is the best advice i can give

I am a 58 wizard, and I TLed people out after they took him down last night. I say that THEY took him down, because he consistently resisted everything I threw at him, even lures. I attempted all three types of lures (Fire, Magic, Cold), and none worked.

You need VZ and TZ flags for EPs, I think of PoP progression as 5 "lines". Agnarr Line, RZTW Line, MM Line, Saryn Line, and Bertox Line.

--Kill Maenical Behemoth in PoInnovation.

--Kill Aerin Darr in Plane of Valor.
--Do the 3 Trials in Halls of Honor.
--Kill Mithaniel Marr in Temple of Marr.
-Saryn Line-
--Do Hedge Maze event in PoNightmare.
--Kill Terris Thule in Lair of Terris Thule.
--Kill Keeper of Sorrows.
--Kill Saryn.
-Bertox Line-
--Kill Grummus in PoDisease.
--Do Caprin event in Crypt of Decay.

When you can zone into HoHa by lvl 62, AD is no longer required. AD has no impact whatsoever on HoHb.

If you don't get AD, you still have to get gimped into HoHb. The 62-and-over rule doesn't apply there.

85% rule is not an option for everybody. Indeed, attempting to use it can be hazardous.

Recently an open raiding community of which I am part tried to raid Terris Thule using 85% rule. It was a disaster. Over 20 unflagged people showed up and only a few of those reported themselves as unflagged. With over 20 of 50 people stranded outside the gates, the raid was a no-go.

Personally I intend to do the entire PoP progression, even if I don't have to.

The way to do that correctly is to have everyone who is flagged zone into the target zone unraided, and then form the raid inside the zone. Once you have at least 60 people in the raid, you can send someone out to invite up to 12 piggies, who can then zone in.

We took this fool down on Fennin Ro just earlier. Was an easy 40 person job. avg raid lvl was 63. he dropped 2 arrows, 3 specs, visor, and bow. was a little mad i got slowed during the whole duration of my TS disc. *sighs* such is the life of a ranger.

Tallon Zek is in fact lvl 73
Vallon Zek too in its initial form, during its event he pops as lvl 70 forms

Dont you hate when people log on to these sites and Post a bunch of BS that we all read and go oh wow TALLON ZEK looks like Genghis Khan and he wears a sexy dress that is NICE how do we do the Encounter: Well I made a SN just to share some info on mobs for all to enjoy!

Tallon Zek Encounter is very easy to do with 12 people! Yes 12 not 40 not 60 not a full raid force! 12 people! Not TIME GEARED Barely Elemental Geared I'm talking about people who play their class with high potential and skill!

First off you have a Main Tank with average HP of 8k + ... Next You have 3 Clerics with average to well equipped Mana pool and know how to do raid heals! Max Heal Range is a must... Next You take 4 Enchanters with TD3 + Mage Gear + High Charisma and have them bring 4 Command of Druzzil Pets ( Ogres Warriors / Shadow knights work the Best )... OMG YOUR USING PETS ya you noobs out there Enchanter Pets > DPS than you can imagine think of the mobs you can kill 100 times faster if you used pets Learn your class and play it well... Next You have a Druid + Shamman These are the spot healers for your pets + buffers ( Yes Raid Buff Pets ) and Last of all I used 2 Mages for extra DPS + Mage Equipment..

Encounter is Pretty Easy Have MT fix agro on himself when he ports back off pets and have them behind so they aren't runnin through the AE each time he fires on the MT ...Have enchanters help with Runes on Pets + Tank ... as well as use glamorous visage on clerics / mages to reduce agro.. you can also use haunting visage on Main tank to increase agro... The Charmed Pets cut through this mob faster than you can say abracadabra! I've done this numerous times farming him! Clerics were all at around 40-50 percent Mana when encounter was done... no one died..

I hope this helps Strategy wise: for those of you who wish to do this without a guild / full raid thank you!

Dude, your totally stupid and I am guessing you have never fought TZek. If you had you would know that if you went with 4 charmed pets you would get smoked by the pets before TZ could have his way with you. AoE dispell, unresistable, go to Drunder sometime, several mobs in here do this effect. Then you can post your dreamed up theory of how to snake this guy with your 11 buddies.

Charmed pets have far more hp than any 2 warriors they dont need heals. They dont get hit in such an encounter except in riposte. They do however get the charm dispelled which not only will happen with TZ AoE but with the mobs on the way up. The warriors and SK's will break charm far more often the sentries.

Did this guy last night for the first time. Fairly straight forward fight. Doesn't melee for much at all, usually casting spells more than anything. Hits for about 830 according to the tank. The room down the stairs from his room is just outside his Range. He's leashed in the room so he wont chase you to your raid. Inside his room there is one mob on each corner you'll have to clear. The far left back one is by far the hardest. Suggest a DA class to tag that one. Cast DMF or some form of levitation. He WILL throw you around like a rag doll for a very long distance...usually the opposing wall. About every 15 seconds or so he'll Teleport to one of 4 pads in his room, you can't see the pads but they are there. Have a clicky item hot keyed for the fight because he'll dispell you everytime you go flying.

We didn't have many casters with us so the fight took a little longer. We had 2 room spawns by the time we were done. Our Pally didn't die till TZ was at about 40% then an SK took over. I highly recomend one of those 2 classes tank him for stunning/snare agro purposes. Unless your warriors have several agro proc weapons. Dropped Earring and Bow for us. Good luck!

*Edit* We didn't have any of our MTs on so that's why we had Pally/SK tank him.

Okay, my guild killed Tallon and Vallon Zek last night. I got the flags from the Astral Projection that pop'd after the mobs were dead. Tonight I'll go talk with the librarian and see what happens. In case anyone knows what these flags are for, please follow up to this post. I'm guessing that they are the same flags needed to enter the elemental planes (i.e. the same as given by Rallos Zek).

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you need Vallon Zek and Talon Zek flags before you can get Rallos Zek flag.

Vallon Zek and Talon Zek are part of the requirements for entry into Tower of Solusek Ro as well.

You still need Rallos Zek flag to enter the elemental planes water, earth, and air. You need flag from Solusek kill as well to enter plane of fire.

Actually, you don't need Tallon and Vallon before you can get rallos flag. I have 3 pop flags: mauvin trials (pov/pos), aiding askr (bot), and RZ kill.

Would have had MM flag but for some reason using raid to get into HoHb wouldn't work.

you need tallon and vallon for rallos flag: this means you can kill everyone else for elemental access but if you don't kill TZ or VZ you don't get access. RZ is a checklist flag until you kill them both. Trust me, i did RZ first and it was a checklist flag, didn't become a character flag until after i killed VZ, (already had TZ).

Raid will work to get into HoHb, i also did that flagging in the wrong order, but was raided in until i got my last trial (RD gets done too quick).

I think you're confusing "needing flag A to get flag B" with "you can't progress without flag A or flag B." Hail Rallos Zek's Planar Projection to get the flag.

It's a checklist flag until you do VZ and TZ, but you do HAVE the RZ flag, and no one can remove it.

If you needed VZ/TZ to get RZ, then hailing RZ's planar projection would do nothing until you're done with VZ/TZ.

You DO however need VZ/TZ and RZ (amongst MANY others) to progress along in the planes.

I can sit LFG for trials in PoT for longer than I care to mention on my 58 monk or 57 Necro and not get any responces.

Aerin'Dar, Manaetic Behemoth, Grummus all killed to community raids on Tholuxe Paells.

Somewhat zergish, because on open raids you always get the people unwilling to listen to instructions, the people who sit in the corner and hide until they can ninjaloot something or piggyback a flag. But you still need tactics. Kinda hard to zerg AD or MB without any strategy.

All Character flag mobs (except MM) have been killed by community raids on bristlebane now. The competion for some spawns is such that you have to do what you can to get flagged.

The lack of "zerg" and open raids in pop is a good thing. First off, dont bother with trials til you are 60, pre 60 in PoV/S and you are wasting your time you wont find a group. The mobs in tier 2 make the tier one mobs look like cannon fodder that you could tank. Secondly, the fact that it takes some sort of organization to get higher up means that there are still a few safe places to hunt that idiots cant get to yet.

um, would you discount the potential that access to tier 2 and up doesnt mean that a person isn't an idiot, just that they had friends/guildmates. Getting flagged doesn't imply amazing ability.

I've helped get a level 52 main, untwinked, cleric flaged for pos/PoV and then had her be the only healer in my group, guess what, she did fine. Not like PoV is hard.

Clerics usually are the exception to minimum level requirements for any zone. Cleric CH is the best heal spell, and you don't have to worry about resists or anything. This unlike a <lv60 tank, which would get the crap beat out of him, or a <lv60 caster which would get alot more resists, or a <lv60 melee that would not do that much damage to be efficient. Generally speaking, PoV *is* hard for someone with average gear under lv60, if someone like that does ok in PoV the group could probably do without him/her anyway (ie. the rest of the group makes it possible).

yeah, mob's can go above lvl 65... there are a number of mobs at lvl 70 (most of the high end velious, luclin bosses, PoP bosses as well). if i remember correctly, Fennin Ro is lvl 75. i was gonna go solo him yesterday but rather i fear kited moss snakes in E.C. =)

if you ppl remember that big tournament on one of the PvP server (i htink it was Rallos Zek server, but not positive) Verant released a pic of Rallos Zek awarded the tournament winner, and he looked much different than the pic from PoP.
