My first respawn of the gloom nightmares today occurred 65 minutes after the first kill. Fortunately, they dropped the hide my SK needed, so I didn't get to time the second round.
with the game being not so populated I wish they would speed up the spawn time of the lower epic mobs. This waiting for over and hour for pops is crazy, especially with only 4 mobs on that ledge.
The mephits are headshotable just an FYI. Might make your trip through the tunnels easier if you bring a ranger. I got lucky and got my Gloom Nightmare Hide on the 4th horse I killed. Thank god I did not have to sit there for 1.5 hours for another spawn.
LOCATION. The Ledge they spawn on is at loc +1300, -475, +165. If you look towards the north of the map you see a set of tunnels, The entrance to those tunnels is underwater in the river that runs north/south up the middle of the zone, at the north of the river where it ends. Head into the tunnels and at the very first intersection head right (roughly SE) and follow that through the mephits until it comes back out into the open. That's the ledge with the nightmares spawn. L
Just thought i'd share that since in the other 2 dozen posts you only get vague hints and references to other posts heh.
Being a big beotch for me right now. Helping a friend go through his. I think I never camped a single spawn from the entire 1.0-2.0 for mine for more than maybe 30 minutes ea (been a few years but i think there were 2 items that weren't up when i went to get them and had to wait for a respawn.) This time around I've spent now over 20 hours collectively on the 1.5 prequest and up to this point of the 1.5. It's been HORRID!! ugh.
as MeMymy stated, pass through the mephit area (invis does not work) and emerge on to an open plateau where Vhaksiz in located. 4 gloom nightmares are spaced out around the area
One of the gloom nightmares while I was killing it decided to turn into a cliknar scout. Droped the hoof once dead but was still odd. Now to wait for respawns.
Well welcome to another long wait unless your a **Lucky Looter** went out with my 85 Wiz and 71 sk. Only way to get to camp was threw underwater tunnel. Had to go past alot of hobgoblins then at the crossroad went southeast there you get mephits (seem to drop diamonds alot) just keep going until you find green grass and 4 horses. If you are you will be lucky and get your drop if your like me you will be putting up another post here on alla. Now I do not suggest you DO NOT run off this hill be or be prepaired for another run threw the water and sadly you can not pull mobs to you from the hill top.. Thanks to the Invisible wall blocking you from going back up or seeing the mobs you can see down the hill. As far as the spawn timer goes it did seem like a long wait but seeing I had some time to kill on round 2 I broke out the stop watch and waited and waited 30m and waited some more now 60m the waiting continued and finally 79 min later I had a repop, Woot - Last thing b4 I go you might find Vhaksiz the Shade ( Raid Enocounter ) LoL maybe 5 years ago kill him and he will be gone for quite a bit.. GL to all you SK's on your on your 1.5/2.0/2.5's
these mobs are on top of the platform through the underwater entrance cave. Soloed with 100 percent health nearly the entire fight. about 12k unbuffed though, 2700 ac. They are in a circle around the undead raid mob, cant remember his name, starts with a v. I tried to solo him too but he probably has around 200k or 300k hitpoints, so i would have been there all day. he didnt hit too hard, but unslowed he hit for about 50 dps more than i lifetap for (consistantly with passive taps only). Problem i had with the glooms was their respawn time was FOREVER. I sat for about 40 min waiting for them to repop, becuase the 4 that were up didnt drop the hide i needed. I was beginning to think maybe the glooms were adds from the raid mob in the center and werent going to repop. Still havent logged back in to check
We killed one round of gloom nightmares without a hide, then waited for second round and a hide dropped on the first one we pulled. Time between death of first gloom on first round til wil pulled the last gloom of the second round was 1 hour and 18 minutes (i.e. 78 minutes, with all times taken from my log file).
I got the hide today, i 3boxed 67SK, 66 shamy and 65 monk... going through the cave i annoying, mobs respawn fast, so better have C, haste and victions.
After whiping halfway through, i just went in the cave with monk, FDed my way up to the platform. You can't attack horses from below the patform, but you can heal a player on it. I pulled mobs with monk, engaged, healed once with shamy to catch aggro, FDed monk... horse came down the cliff.
Tagged, slowed, tanked, killed... had to do that 4 times but i got my hide.
i was kiting the hobgoblins with my bard and as i ran across the river from the graveyard side with bard travel song on i saw one of these was unable to target him but was just kinda getting closer to have a look at him and bam he aggroed me from the top and ran down the hill after me to my kite area near the tree in the open spot by the hill. lol was like uhm hope he doesnt summon so i ran into the woods grabbed a couple nettling wraiths and charmed one put him on the steed... let him almost finish off wraith charmed second one. / rinse and repeat took me 4 wraiths but all in all not very long doing it that way and some pretty decent aa... nothing dropped for me though...
the nightmares no longer have their helmets, and they cant be targetted to pull off of the ledge anymore. Need to go through the cave to get them.

Done them repeatedly with my 60 Shammy and a 60 Pally friend on Tunare. Pull with slow or get pally to with a bow and slow as they run off of the plateau... let pally stun to get his attention, and that's all the stun does becuase he won't be stunned... debuff, DoT, occasionally had to re-apply slow if the fight was takin a while, kept my pet at the mobs backside, keep the pally alive... wash, rinse... repeat..I just wish the spawn rate was a bit faster.
Not rootable, not snareable, not stunnable, easily slowed (even without malo line), can be blinded in a pinch. Watch out for his enrage at about 10%, takes my pet out if it gets in the way every time. GOOD exp for a duo team :-)
Warrior mob. Enrage. Got aprox 40K hp. Hits for 544. Bashes and kicks like all warriors, around 160. Can be charmed and mezzed. Can't be stunned. Can't be rooted/snared. Run in run3 speed. Not very magic resistant or fire/cold.
Actually, that is not true. I have mezzed one before with sleep (63 chanter spell).. I do not know if Apathy (61) would land or not, I have never tried. I will attempt to charm with CoD later tonight, going to PL a friend off hedge mobs with it ;)
Have to say this mob is worth fighting just to see it. Nearly filled my tin pants as this beast with flaming hooves was running for me. I just wish the SK AA horse looked like this.
Hit hard initialy, but slow landed, the rest was history, probably an undercon for 62nd mob.
Just here to ramble on. I noticed that 2 of the glooms are impossible to cast on. At least for my 55 bard. And as you can see by my lvl these things have low resists to everything if I can solo them. I have a Selo's drum and it takes about 15 min to kill one...but for 3% xp for one kill, it's worth it hehe. When you pull the one at the SW corner that you have to use F9 to target he will run down the bank to the east and at about halfway down is a huge rock that he will step over. Just FYI. I hope it helps. BTW for you bards...don't get close lol It hurts hehe.
Actually, at 55 a bard, I have soloed all 3 of these. They just have high resists. Twist OCC of sound then fufils curtailing chant before CoFlame and CoFrost, that should tenderize their meat a little bit first with the -MR. O, and with DotB (Drums of the Beast) it takes me about 18 minutes to kite them, so Id like to know how you are doing it in 15. Anyways, anyone know if these guys are good for anything besides bragging about soloing them at 52 and up?
i r 64 chanter on VZ. i have been soloing these since i got beckon. tash and charm hobgoblin nearby, slap an AQ on him and then run up close to cliff to get aggro back off sick pet on him tash and slow horse. Great xp
Once again people, every PC takes hits differently than another PC the damage you take is based upon your AC and agility. So if some warrior says he got hit for 500 then hes telling the truth and the same mob hits a wizard for 800 then hes telling the truth people smell what i'm cooking, most of the time you can't pinpoint an exact DPS so everyone is right no one is wrong. Oh and i really like the way the mob looks very nice as are a lot of the PoN mobs. Out of the 3 i've killed one night had 2/3 parchment drops, hit up the hobbies also.
There are 4 spawns on the hill above the hobgoblins. The Shade guy is up above too. These have all been level 62 that I've seen. Out of the first four we killed, they dropped 3 parchments! Out of the next week and a half of hunting them only one dropped. Drops the bloody hoof for unknown quest frequently. I'd say average between 1 to 2 rounds. Drop either the hoof, parchment or nothing. Hits for around 543 max. Isn't very resistant to anything. Is immune to changes in run speed. The camp area is usually at the base of the front of the hill. You have to pull them with spells and usually have to use F9 for 3rd person view to see/target them. You'll have to have levitate. The far goblin side spawn is next to the cave opening. You have to clear 5 hobgoblin spawns to get to him. All the other spawns are free to pull. My method of pulling is to put on my extended range III bracer from Karnors, target one and cast snare (which will resist). Then run back to camp and in a couple seconds it will drop out of the tree in front of you. Have the chanter mez it (61 mez works), then the chanter or shaman can slow it and you can debuff it. Have the chanter cast mem blur or boggle so they don't get aggro when mez is broken. I would recommend having a tank stand next to the chanter because if mez doesn't stick they many times get aggro and die quickly. The tank can taunt it or if a pally/sk they have some great aggro spells. Once you kill all 4 spawns, start pulling gators, hobgoblins, nettling wraiths or run over to the guardians if they aren't camped because respawn is like 1 1/2 hours. :P The spawn closest to the camp area will aggro if you climb on the wall. Everything else has to be targeted and pulled. Hope this helps. All four parchments I've seen were ethereal. Aloha, Saulami
