are you all talking about the same Scourge Hobgoblin ive been camping? he is easy for a 64 mage easy solo exp just Heal WoX once then nuke once and can sit there and watch him die
Not sure but they cast a very nasty poison dot that has put a damper on me several times. Last time i managed to mem my remove poison song, started healing song, went unconcious , revived played song and zoned with 5% health. Very nasty but not that high in poison counters.
Of course he summons as already mentioned. Got to love having fading memories and highsun.

Yep I can also confirm he will summon you to the gobbie camp after he gates, and you will die.

fought this guy and had some weird stuff happen. at the time, group consisted of level 62 bst, 59 druid, 57 druid, and me, 53 chanter. we had this guy trained onto us along with a couple of bloodravens, we root parked the ravens, and i was able to slow his guy first attempt after tashing. Pets proceded to tear him to pieces, and about 20 secs later, he poofed, no corpse, nothing. not sure what he hit for, but i can tell you this, 3 charmed pets and a bst pet shredded this guy, he got pwned so bad i felt sorry for him, till he poofed, then i felt sorry for me!!

He's a gater, which is probably what happened. Not sure where you were when trained, as he is found outside the entrance to the Hobgoblin caves, but you are lucky he didn't return with the other 2 Hobgoblins at his spawn point.

Can someone give me a bit more detail about how this guy is killed?
Ive come up against him 3 times so far. First time he raped the whole group in a minute cos we werent prepared for slow.
2nd and 3rd time we were able to deal with him but none of the people could stun him (not sure about pallys) and he gated, so we then had to zone out.
So, to date, ive yet to actually kill the sucker.

I've tried this guy 5 or 10 times so far, and every single time he gated. Our last attempt we had a pally, cleric, 2 chanters a necro and a wizzy. Necro and I mana sieved/mind wracked the whole fight as did the other chanter once he got it slowed and he still gated! I swear this thing has unlimited mana... I guess you have to fight him where he can see his bind point.

Have your enchanter chain-mez them. It will interrupt their gates.
After 5-10 attempts, I'm sure you know this but just in case.....if he does gate, have your group camp/zone immediately as he'll summon you one by one to kill you off or come back with friends.

He uses an area affect slow also
Not that this guy isn't bad enough but he cheats! Our group was at the Gloom Nightmare pull spot and some guy trained a Scourge and about 5 regular hobgoblins on us. I used Exodus (instant succor) to take us to the graveyard. Succor is SUPPOSED to be just like zoning and clear aggro. Our chanter had ran to the little grave zone out and zoned and came back in. Not a minute after we were all together again the scourge summoned us all! That is total BS! They try gating when low and succeed a lot since stuns don't work (except for one pally one I think). If it gates, immediately zone or succor or he will summon you one by one and kill your whole group.

Dropped a BD and Ethereal Parchment for us last night. Had two spawn back to back, 1st dropped nothing, 2nd had all the loot.

Yes, he does gate and summons. That killed our war, but our SK re-pulled him and we killed him the second time. He was slowable and is not too hard, as long as he does not gate...

This guy is NASTY ! He ripped our 55 Monk and 56 Enchanter in half in seconds, then killed a bunch more ppl in and around the Graveyard. He also summons, so watch out.
