She's not a raid mob.. Or at least when I went to visit her to kill her and conned her, she didn't show up as a raid mob.

I solo'd spider today with my lvl 68 magician (with 512 aa's) and a merc, was pretty simple and a fun fight, wasnt even close, dropped book i needed for quest.
Continued in, and fought the 4 clerics around the corner just passed the fake door, was a much longer and tougher fight, had to sic pet on 3 and pull one to the room where the spider was so he couldnt get healed.
Kept going to see if I could try grummus, but he was no where to be seen, so i jumped into the hole and ported me to crypt of decay.

73 Paladin soloed him this morning with healer merc. Merc spent most of its mana healing itself from the constant ramps.
Duoed her today with a 74 cleric tank and a 70 bst. She is perma rooted, i couldn't pull her out of the room. Her dots are easy to cure with RC (i only have 3 ranks and it got both dots). Was an easy fight with VoV cleric tank. The little ones got us because i forgot about them... by the time i was aware it was too late. Didn't get to loot. Oh well, was a fun fight... good times....

Outfitted in a mix of Anguish, DoN, and PoR.
took 25 minutes to get to it. got lazy and harmo'ed the trash after Gryme. Aramin doesn't assist his guards. Aramin himself took approximately 6 minutes. Hail of Arrows > spider babies.
dropped pulp, bracer of bile, and eth parch. Good times.

i just soloed him with my 75 cleric with only 670 AA but have 13.8k self buffed
Aye. Soloed him as a 75 anguish geareed necro and then just FD'd and let the little spiders despawn. Was fun.

70 Mag (8.9k) and 70 Clr (7k) duo'd this spider! Of course, the mag died right after ninja looting the loot :/ (I gated)

This was probably flagged as a raid encounter back when Planes of Power was released 4 or so years ago. Max level was 60 + general, arctype, and class AA's. Max gear was Vex Thal. So yeah it was a raid encounter back then. Too many people these days smash down old conent or old posts whithout realizing that every 2 expansions signifigantly trivialize post content, especially after 4-6 added AA sets and 5-10 levels.

Killing her with a group of 65-70 was easy. The adds at the end were difficult. Somehow we got 2 knights thrown in... So be careful not to aggro the knights.

Did this mob today 3 boxxing. 70 warrior, 70 cleric, 70 bard. Bard slow landed almost every time w/o any debuffs at all. Cleric ended up getting on rampage (oops), but that made no difference. Cleric ended fight at 80m. No book for my alt wizzie :(

No longer a raid mob...68 Pally, 67 Druid, 65 Shaman, and two 67 Beastlords...Mostly VexThal geared with some PoP mob pieces...times are surely changing. MA was 8.8K group buffed.
Owned him for the run into beastlord epic groundspawn.

Just did her with 11.2k war 12k hp ranger shammy cleric bst monk we mostely elemental and time gear ranger pretty uber god and time the fight is easy shes rooted and can debuff slow etc before u engage just hit aoe slow when shes dead on adds and ur in dropped book and staff for us

This mob is found in the castle in plane of disease, past gryme the crypt keeper.
He is perma-rooted so he can be slowed and debuffed before engaging, he has about 4 mobs in his room. 2 which seem to be exclusive to this room.
Aramin the spider guardian is fully slowable, he enrages and I believe he rampages, his AE's rarely go off, and he is A LOT easier then gryme(who supposedly guards the castle).
The signet of withering flesh is his most common drop. Book is most rare.

Has anyone tried the Color Cloud PBAoE stun on the little spiders yet? Or will/are they stunnable with other stuns?

Thay are STUN able my ENC friend used it and worked ... we went in with 65 SK, 59 Dru, 65 ENC, 65 Cleric, 61 Sham and 65 mage... And made it in and out w/o any problem.. ENC said thay wee immune to Mez but were able to stun them wile we Ninja looted and gated out

So sweet, notebook droped on the first run made at her, with a cleric, enchanter (me) and ranger friends. Killed Gryme on first attempt but wiped on spider. then killed spider on second attempt. ranger and cleric went down, I had to finish her off, looted the notebook and bracer then used vial of swirling smoke to escape the spiders =). Im SO HAPPY. YYYYYAAAAAYYYYYY

Why is this book 2nd to last and not last for phylactery quest? Don't the books get progressively harder to get?

Not really velks still takes about 2-3 groups of decently equipped people. Where as Aramin can be done with one group or less. This being that their isn't any good charmed dps around and velk isn't slowable
LOL A War friend and I (druid) did him. Velk is not often up because he is an easy 1 group.
velketor can be done with less then a group. My warrior tanked him with 3 people and most of his gear was bought from bazaar, nothing from vex thall or ep or anything like that..
Well, yah. I duoed Aramin with a War/Shm. Who knows, it might be soloable with OOW. Jus cant comment on Velks. I havent seen him umm... since mid velious?

Single grouped it with cleric, SK, rogue, chanter, ranger, shaman (all 65, but ranger 64); with about ntov-tier 1 quality gear.
On the way Gryme is a fun fight, but cleric had celestial regeneration, that helped a lot.

Took a raid of 72 to take out the queen (since Grum wasn't up). Whole zone was bugged it seemed. First the door wouldn't open with the key, then when we killed the queen, instead of something like 8 or maybe 12 spiders...22 poped!!! Then when my ML went to go loot a ring that dropped...it poofed..wtf lol.

A little tip that works with many key/door combinations, and is especially useful for jails with bars over them, as clicking on them (and on the door behind Gryme) doesn't seem to work.
Put the key on your cursor as you normally would, but instead of clicking on the door, just hold the cursor over the door and press the "U" (for Use) key. Works like a charm.

Also tried to proc Viral Decay on me. I don't know what it does as I resisted it all the time.

did them yesterday.. 40 peeps - 4 wizzies with ae (use jyll's for max targets, and try to keep them grouped) and there were down in about 20-30 secs. be sure to warn everyone and have your ae's memmed before you kill Aramin, it shouldnt be a problem then. )

We killed her 2 nights ago and yes, about 8 or so smaller spiders spawned and wiped us quickly. As they cannot be mezzed, it seems that the only way to defeat them is a good AE team with plenty of mana (AE stuns (not sure if the stun would be resisted) and nukes) or have a significantly sized zerg force that is well organized.
Those of you that have attempted Grumus, how did you manage to get past this spiders? My guess is force in numbers. =)

We did this spider with three groups. We used some kind of Pally/Chanter harmony on the guards behind her which worked well. She dropped a very nice ring, Signet of Withering Flesh.
My question is what her respawn time might be. Anyone know?

Well judging by the finished stone walls and another's comment on passing Aramin to reach Grummus, Aramin would have to spawn inside the castle. Since I haven't had a chance to kill her I don't have an exact loc but as soon as I do I'll post it if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Am 65th Shaman, and she conned red to me so either its a miscon or her levels need to be looked at again.
Also she is slowable, and we had 8 spiders pop rt after she died, all were Arachnae malevelers or seriouns.

HP : 150k hp
Doable with about 3 groups of 55+ players
And look out for the spiders that spawn after Aramin is dead, their wiped 30 people in about 30 seconds.

Hits kinda hard, 2 cleric rotation is enough for a good warrior. AEs a decently mean DOT. 3 minute fight with 12 people so guessing about 300khp, didnt parse. Buncha mean spiders spawn afterward that were hitting in 400s. Would suggest camping a cleric as Aramin dies if you are not a zerg force, they despawn faster than corpse rots. *shrug.*

150k hitpoints is much more accurate. We parsed just over 100k of melee damage and estimate the rest in spell damage. I can confirm that the baby spiders are rootable and unmezable, and yes, can kill everyone quickly =)

when u kill this spider 8-10 little ones spawn that hit for 300-475, so have AE team there ready to go.
