Hi, they are Steel Casings and he ALWAYS has them in stock. No need to kill him. Please don't kill him, he's needed for his Tinkering parts!

Anyone know his respawn time? There were some peeps in here PL'ing and pulling the entire zone, and of course he was killed just before I could get to him. Thanks.

I think I answered their question on the EQ forums and it had to do with having Only show the items I can use checked and not being a Frg or Gnm.

It was a bug, or the mobs were hidden behind zone-out.

He normally is in one of the towers down the right path. Someone trained him and everything near him to the zone.

ok here's the details.
Yes it is safe to camp in the building he is in. You just might need to be able to gate to get back out safely.

He spawns in the first build going to the left from zone in loc +1500 +975.

The only way to reach him is to fight you way in. All mobs see invis. I even tried casting harmshield and running with Sow then casting FD once inside building. However I died halfway through the cast. Don't try it unless you just like wasting your time getting a rez.

His inventory is:
Steel casings - 41p 9g 9s 9c
cork - 1c
Cured Leather Tubing - 7g 3s 4c
Mana Battery class one - 10p 4g 9s 9c
Mana Battery class two - 20p 9g 9s 9c
Mana Battery class three - 31p 4g 9s 9c
Mana Battery class four - 41p 9g 9s 9c
Mana Battery cass five - 52p 4g 9s 9c
Mana Battery class six - 104p 9g 9s 9c
Water Flask - 1s
Vial of Gases - 1p 4s 9c
Static Orb - 1p 1g 2c
First days in Innovation - 1p 4s 9c
The Clockworks press on - 1p 4s 9c
Desperation in the junkyard - 1p 4s 9c
Cheirometrc Lockpick Study - 1p 4s 9c
On Advanced Fireworks 1p 1g 2c
Deluxe tool box - 1p 1g 2c
Perpetual Pumps (book) - 1p 1g 2c

I'm presently in the building Anizok is in. I'm an SK, level 62. Made it in without getting hit once. I just had a sow on, invised up (not every mob sees invis, just most), and ran like hell. The trick is to not run straight through the various packs of clockworks. If you do, you'll get hit a lot, stunned and die. Weave through them, after all with sow they're running slower than you so you can afford the extra bit of distance you have to run. Once I ran up the steps, I cast Death Peace, and waited for my enemies to forget me. Closest clockwork was probably 200+ feet (or whatever units they use) away from me.

Also, go to the RIGHT, not the left to get to him. If you go left, you have to weave through all sorts of the maze, and probably have to create a bigger train, and a higher chance of dying.

Anyways, hope this helps somebody :)

Is it safe to bind at him so that I could come back and buy or do I need to fight my way in every time I want to buy stuff?

Not safe. The safe area in the room is very small,
and mobs will agro through the wall.
I would only suggest binding here if you are a necro
with FD at the ready (and a very good combo of
computer and internet speed) but not even then -
zone-in lag would kill you.

I have a gnomish friend who needed to get steel casings, so I volunteered. I am a cleric. I got the best run speed buff I could beg, then started running to the shop and DA'd on the way to avoid dieing. Once there, I had enough time left on DA to purchase about 30 or so before DA faded and I died.

Then just wait for corpse to pop to graveyard and rez. Repeat as needed. This method takes very little time and no assistance from anybody.

The Nitram's Collection quest listed above gives the details... Basically, helping this guy out with that quest leads to your raid "escorting" him along the corridors of junk to where the mechanical dragon waits. He powers it up, it goes berserk, and you have to kill it without letting it kill the Gnome. After the kill, everyone Hails him to receive their flag.

[Wed Oct 23 05:29:59 2002] You say, 'Hail, Nitram Anizok'
[Wed Oct 23 05:29:59 2002] Nitram Anizok says 'Oh my hello! It has been such a long time since I have had visitors. Have you come to learn of [advanced tinkering] as well?'
[Wed Oct 23 05:30:02 2002] You say, 'what advanced tinkering'
[Wed Oct 23 05:30:02 2002] Nitram Anizok says 'Aye, I advanced to this plane due to my work on tinkering back in Ak`Anon. A grand city it is, but my abilities were compromised with the materials I had to work with there. My body and soul has come to rest here, forever coming up with new ideas. You should be aware though that this plane is not how it was when I arrived. Much [construction] has taken place.'
[Wed Oct 23 05:30:07 2002] You say, 'what construction'
[Wed Oct 23 05:30:07 2002] Nitram Anizok says 'When I first arrived I started creating smaller things. As time went on my inventions became more and more focused and impressive. I started building steam powered clockwork to help me gather materials. I had gone too far giving them the ability to learn and with a built in desire of self perpetuation. They began to integrate themselves with the clockwork that already existed within the factory that you can see if you step outside. I once worked within the factory with a kind and fair gnome, Meldrath. Now that he has gone missing the clockworks seem to be working towards a more devious goal. The clockwork out here in the junkyard have been discarded due to their malfunction or replacement by a more efficient series. Needless to say their [instinct for survival] has not been lost.'
[Wed Oct 23 05:30:10 2002] You say, 'what instinct for survival?'
[Wed Oct 23 05:30:10 2002] Nitram Anizok says 'The clockwork have become increasingly aggressive because of their desperation for spare parts. I have to defend myself anytime I head out to find parts for my tinkering. I fear for my safety with what is being built in the factory. I have started to build myself my own means of defense. It is nearly completed but I need an odd combination of batteries to start it up. I should have planned more carefully for it to use simple mana batteries.'

Sorry I couldn't get further with the conversation, the servers where coming down and the group I was in had to get outa there. Anyone have a clue has to what this guy is talking about? What batteries does he need and such?

My guild happened by this little guy while exploring PoI. We were clearing mobs in the area when all the sudden he started fighting our mob. Crazy little gnome then went on to aggroing 3 or 4 more mobs when he was finally put down.
