Was able to defeat this with at 61 cleric and a 65 mage during Planes of Power on Coirnav. Mage was time geared cleric was group geared. Boss had mitigation, mage had a willsapper and proc a slow at the start of the fight which lasted the duration. Mage ended the fight with about 40% mana and the cleric with about same.
Solo kill by 65 Beast on Phinigel with furthest expansion open being LDoN. Raid geared, 500AA. Pet died, ended at like 30%hp and OOM. Bring lots of potions! Resisted slow 2/4 times. Never did resist the AE (was at 303 disease resist), but one cast of Abolish Disease cleared it.
Just to post info to inform those that are working into the castle for whatever reason (bst 1.5) this guy was taken down quite easily with a 71 beastlord. I'm not a raider, but am equipped with full Blackburrow armor and the like, was buffed at the time around 16k hp, 11k mana, 2.2k ac.
I just 3 boxed Gryme with a 72 Cleric, 72 pally and a 65 Bst and we killed him easily. I looted the key on my Bst and killed to the door. when I click on the door with the key in my cursor all i get is " That item cannot be dropped, traded, or sold. " Do i need to do some kind of quest before i loot the key to activate the key?
I just killed him and tried holding the key and clicking on the door, key in inventory and clicking on the door, holding key and key in inventory and clicking U and the door does not open. WTF.
Decided to attempt him solo the other night to get inside castle for my Beastlord epic 1.5 ground spawn. I am level 70 with about 150 AA's and 7250 hit points unbuffed. First off, Gryme is FULLY slowable now. I received no partial or mostly slowed message. Slow stuck first try. I used 2 veteran reward AA's during the fight; Steadfast Servant and Infusion of the Faithful. Infusion bumped resists over 500 and it didn't help much, his spells were on me I believe the whole fight. They were also on pet, had to heal him every so often. I also brought along heal over time potions for when the Servant was snoozing. Besides self buffs, I had Oak, Brells and KEI. Pet had toys. It was definitely a fun fight. Be sure to stop attacking during enrage while pet beats him from behind. I ended the fight at about 60% health and 15% mana. I looted the key and started fighting my way in. After a half dozen kills I left my pet to fight 2 Cleric mobs while I invised up and tried to sneak past the spider. The guards near the spider spotted me so I bolted for the roaring grass. I easily snatched up the little bag and eventually died once the mobs stopped casting and they all started swinging instead. This piece allowed me to do a lot of turn-ins and running around. Only a few more fights to go =).
Just pulled him on my 65 Necro thinking respawns were due for a charm kill. Pulled him with Embracing and it stuck first try, but root took 3 tries and Slow took 2 to take on the first go. Root broke a lot waiting for a charmable mob to pop, but it was pretty easy as far as that went. The dot was also not too large of a range, and after rooting you could sit outside its range and never get hit if careful. I wasn't careful enough so I got hit and had to use Saryrn's kiss. Unmentioned tid-bit...he Summons. Fd'd him off and going to go at him again once a charmable mob finally spawns...we'll see how it goes.
Upon taking him on with a hasted Guardian of the Crypt, I found that he is quite easy. I snared both him and the Guardian, then rooted him and charmed the guardian. I then set my pet guarding slightly away from me for safety and proceeded to get on my horse and chain slow him. It took 6 tries to get a slow to stick. After that, I hasted my pet and sent him in. I cast Saryrn's Kiss to recover some hp and then just let pet at him. I started the fight at 50% mana, so I didn't quite make it through. This would be a very easy fight if I had any defensive AA or maxed out ToL. I realized my pet was going to bite it when he hit 50% and Gryme was at like 65%. That was when I used Mend Companion and started Chaining Touch of Death. I got off around 10 pet heals, none of them crits (have ToL1), and it came down to around 10% hp on both...then he enraged.
Not a bad fight, but I was too lom to Mujaki tank him at that point with my leet 2500 hp at the time. So, he wasted my charm pet on enrage, summoned me, and raped me a new one.
I think I could have gotten him at FM, and my necro only has like 30 AA and 1900 hp unbuffed. Happy Hunting Necros!
70 Necro and 70 Beast dropped him. Pulled with Necro slow, took first time, mostly successful. FD'd and let Beast pet tank, Necro pet aid. His DoT was annoying, but nothing to get worked up about. Only problem we had was his enrage kicked up and dropped our pets before we knew what was going on... though he was low enough that a few LTs later and he was done for. Anyway, was a fun fight and we nabbed that Beast epic piece. Good luck to you all and have fun!
67 Beastlord, 68 Cleric, 65 Druid, 65 Bard. He is slowable, 65% level 65 Beastlord slow "mostly" stuck. Didn't even debuff. Hit for 695 max, AOE was a bit of a problem even with bard resists running.
I just duo'd Gryme with my 66 Druid and 66 Beastlord and found that he is now SLOWABLE. He barely mitigates it (Your spell was MOSTLY successful), so he is a much easier mark nowadays. Might be unintentional or a bug, but made my retrieving of the Wild Grass much easier
Just did this guy with 1 necro (me), 1 enc (me) and a paladin. charmed 2 of his door guards and went at it... just for fun. He really is not that bad. we did win.
Killed Gryme today at about 8pm in raid, then came back later at 3am to see what was up in the castle. He indeed was up and i tried soloing him and got him down to 80% then gated (enchanter with pet). So his spawn time would seem to be somewhere under 8 hours.
Hehehe....the AE is 200 hps a tick. Fun mob. Killed him tonite with 5 people (65 ench, 65 pally, 65 SK, 58 cleric, 50 necro). Wasnt easy but felt great to watch him drop!! He only had key on him.
after doing a few grummus raids with my 55 cleric, i have found that gryme spawns in maybe 3 hours, or less. its really short respawn, but he doesnt drop anything but the key to get into castle.
61 Shaman Here. Did this Guy Twice now and the MA's scream like mad to have the DOT Removed. I had thought Disinfecting Aura worked but had been told by a few of the other Shaman in attendance it did not. They are lower level than I am, but not by much and I did not thing Level factored into it with this Spell anyway.
Stench of Decay adds 36 disease counters, so Abolish Disease (Shaman 49, Beastlord 63) is the only cure that works in one cast. Disinfecting Aura would require two casts. Counteract Disease, five casts.
