kruz:

40% haste does not bring your delay down to 10.6 on your fists -- what it does it give you 40% more swings in a given period of time.

To figure out what the delay would be, use this:

Step One - Add 100 to the Haste Percentage.

100 + 40 = 140

Step Two - Divide the previous result (140) into 100.

100 / 140 = .71

Step Three - Multiply the previous result (.71) by the weapon Delay.

.71 * 28 = 19.88

Fists would have a ratio of .7

With Celestial Fists:

.71 * 16 = 11.36

CFs have a ratio of .79

So not only do they have a better ratio, but a much lower delay. Lower delay means more applications of the fixed damage bonus, giving the CFs a significant edge over just fists.

errr ummm no. go back to algebra plz. first off- you saying that delay and #of attacks in a given amount of time are different, thats wrong, its the same exact thing, one just sounds fancier. second of all that formula is pathetic. you've added way too many steps and just confused people. It's really quite simple.

Delay= 16 divided by 1.4= 11.428571... which is your new delay. Take 11.42 divided by 9 and you get 1.268...

i think 1.268 and .79 are quite different numbers when considering ratio...

in any event back to what people really want to know. you will attack every 1.142 seconds if you have celestial fists on and have its effect activated.

HOPEFULLY, this is just SLIGHTLY less confusing than his nonsense that makes no sense at all

EDIT: i guess that was a bit confusing. I used the following formula. DELAY/ 1.(%HASTE)= NEW DELAY

I calculate haste a different way ad it is much easier....
we have a 10/30 weapon with 20%haste...
formula
<weapon delay>/1.<haste percent>=delay with haste
so...
30/1.20=25

EDIT: And if it doesn't get the propper haste which i think it does, it gets it perdy close.
