The Stats are nice If you don't have an Epic.

The Effect which lowers your agro by 200 is of no use to a Wizard.

Ice comet, 1020 - 200 = 820
Sunstrike 1615 - 200 = 1415
Hsgara's Wrath 2000 - 200 = 1800

820 is STILL alot of agro. Consider that it's a Proc and not "clickery" any wizard waiting around for it to proc is asking for a REZ.

At 60 lvl I can drop over 4k in under 30 seconds so If it procs ONCE in 30 seconds My agro drops to 3,800, Say it with me "Any Clerics in the zone rezing?".

Honestly, all jokes aside if Rangers "Jolt" lowers agro by 500, somewhere around 4-5 times more damage then they can hit for, it should be lowering Wizard agro by a few K.

Not too sure what the value of Enchanter Agro is for Mezing and stunning so it could possibly be of help but as a Proc it just doesn't cut it.

If your a Necro or Mage and your in melle range for ANY reason you should be considering a different line of work.

Now hang on just a dang minute. I'm a mage and I'm in aggro range constantly. And tankin it quite often. The reason for this is that I WANT to be there, and I'll tell ya why.

In a group on an overpull it's damn easy to catch aggro. If yer cleric overheals, you're all in deep trouble. Because of that on an overpull I'll often overnuke a mob that's giving one of the other casters or healers trouble to make it aggro me and then tank/cast on it till the main tank can peel it offa me.

And before ya get hostile, trust me. This situation comes up a LOT. I want the aggro because I can usually hold out till someone can peel, and with a high def/ac and channel I can usually still nuke it.

Also, casters get some mighty neat procing weapons. Have an orb of tash currently, so with a couple rounds mele, I can drop a 44 tash and mala on mobs pretty quickly, and that kills pretty darn much any resist they have.

Mages get some mighty neat AC/Regen self buffs too and between havin the aggro on the primary healer or the aggro on me, I'd rather be takin the hits every time.

Even if I die, which hasn't happened from doing this yet, the group might make it out because of the time it gains them. And granted, it requires a lotta nerve, but with proper equip and buffs casters CAN take a bit of damage without folding. Now granted, I'm only lvl 43 currently, so this probably won't work as well post 50, however my point is that casters can, do, and probably should mele occasionally.

Now, this IS situational, and I do agree that casters probably shouldn't be wading in to tank when they should be casting. Knowing when to do it requires knowing it's limits as a tatic.

That's in groups, soloing I end up tanking a LOT, simply because something will always aggro you over your pet, and if your pet gets low on health ya can hop in and mele till you can channel a pet heal or a nuke through, or it starts running. Again though, it's situational.

That being said, Back to the item. Usually the only time I get aggro is when I want it, and any necros worth their salt outta be about the same, with wizzys the nuke's are a bit too powerful to make the proc on this weap useful as you pointed out.

So, even if one of these things dropped I'd prolly pass on the roll in favor of a chanter, due to the cha and int on it and the fact that they're prolly more likely to find the proc useful.

To sum up, I'm in mele range and meleing quite often, and have lived through many an overpull because of it. And I am quite happy with my current line of work, as are most of the people I end up grouping with.

...But then of course, I do have a widespread reputation for being totally out of my mind.

As a chanter, this would be great in combination with illusion werewolf and swift like the wind, particularly in situations where chain stunning is required, ie. not on raids where many mobs are immune to stun. Lowering aggro while allowing you to keep on fluxing without running in and out, what a concept.
