To the goober that thinks AGI is not important. Doesn't realize there is two components to Defense. Damage Mitigation and Damage Avoidance. Monks get Block and Dodge. Which is Damage Avoidance. AGI greatly impacts these two abilities. So yes AC is great to have. But its not the only defense in town. As far as damage output. /duel What an idiot.

Ugh, I hate that people still think this. Agility does NOT help you dodge/block any better. All agility does is give you a minor AC increase (around 1ac per 6 agility, if your agi is over 100). Don't believe me? There's been multiple articles written, and many posts about this. I actually signed up for an account to post, just because of this agi post.

You also didn't mention that Agi. increases Defense skills faster. So lets see....Uhh block, dodge, ect are Defense skills, Uhh, doesn't that help them?
Agi and Dex are VERY important in bringing up Your Offense/Defense, so anyone that states "They are worthless" which I hear so often, likely is maxing theirs out at the END of their level, or a level behind, while I'm maxing mine in the first BuB.

you're right on one aspect of agility it does not make you Neo on the matrix,.. however you neglected to reaserch a little further into agility ,... It also effects Movement... yes movement,,. ever wonder why you move slower the more you carry,.. your agility decreases the more you carry, hence slower movement.. so while a strength and spirit of wolf let you move while encumbred,. adding an agiliy buff would be just as effective...

Monks are damage dealers, not great at tanking. But you already knew that. What you probably didnt know is most monks like to up their agility thinking they'll become Bruce Lee or something not realizing that you get about 1 ac for every 6 agi or so (changes when you reach a number divisible by 25 or go above 200). Let me tell you: monks are damage dealers and pullers. Its what you do best, so focus on that. A whopping 8 ac 15 str will help considerably and for only .5 wt this item will be great for you monks out there.

However, i do have 1 question: is this item better than and FBSS -=[FOR SHADOWKNIGHTS]=-? I'm wielding an argent defender atm and i cant make up my mind, +15 str will push my str up to..uhhh...dammit i hate math...192 nautrally. That's ********* However 21% haste will help me from hurting from the 49 delay on my weapon so much and help me get off some of my self-buff lifetap procs more often. So which should i buy next time i visit nfp? Or should i save up for SCHW? I'm level 39 so aquiring some SCHW would take some time.

Haste always comes first, but I'd advise holding off the FBSS and save up for the silver chitin handwraps instead. Now you can use that and your TBB. :)

Hmm... the str will also increase your attack score which will help with landing hits. Balance between number of swings and number of actual hits. Anyone have data on atack score relative to strength increases.
My chanter is actually looking at this belt. It's a tasty chunk of strength.

If you just can't win a battle, a Tank's job is to taunt the mobs to permit to others to go to safety. WHEN they are safe you can run, but that is unlikely.

Monks are not the best meleers, tanks regular weapons at lvl 60 should do at least 200-300 dmg with double attack and such, delay makes it faster, instead of waiting every 5 seconds to kick for 300 and do small hunks of damage in between. Plus most of those weapons that hit for 200-300 also do mad procs which make up for alot. So yeah monks are good... unless they are lvl 60.

Rogues and monks deal more damage than warriors do my friend. Lots more. Our role as tanks is to do just that- take the beating for others and deal a little damage too.

sigh, I don't know which monks you have been playing with but you are either simply making things up or have been around some sad monks. This post is almost as stupid as it is unnecessary, please refrain from monk bashing in a thread regarding an item, either you like it or you don't. post the value of the item not the value of a character class.

Small hunks my ***
Monks aquire dual wield at level one, and therefore are able to use it more than any other class. At level 46, I have dual wield maxxed, meaning that i use my offhand 78% of the time. I have a goranga spiked club, damage/delay 12/23, and am using my fist in my off hand, 13/31. Throw in a SCHW and an average regular kick of about 80-90 every 6 seconds, and i'd like to see a similarly equipped and leveled warrior do that much damage.

So there I was, hanging out in the room before ***/Sup with my group, waiting for ***/Sup to open up and deciding what we wanted to do in the meantime.

Along runs a little gnome rogue with the Supplier on him. Little gnome isn't doing too well, and before I can ask "Do you need help?", he dies, leaving us to finish off the supplier, which we did with ease.

"What does he drop?", the other SK in the group asks. "Thick Banded Belt," I say, "but very rarely." Whack, whack, down goes Ghoul Supplier.

I bend down to loot, and - hello! - there it is, the TBB. I go ahead and loot it, nobody else in the group wants it, and so it's mine by default. Woot!

Then we spent the next 4 hours camping ***/Sup.

Well, if you think of it like this... FBSS has 21% haste, that (assuming you are a pure melee) makes you do 21% more damage. 15 extra str doesnt do that for you.

First off.. this isnt worth 3k, if you want the price, click the blue letters that say Pricing Info and look at them.... Its worth about 1k now, maybe a little more.
Anyways, I've had so many outfits you would think I'm playing for the wrong team (shhhh), and STR does not do that much for you. The most obvious thing is the better wieght, and that litterally is the most obvious. For every about 10 str you have it adds like 1 or 2 dmg, pretty cruddy really, my main being a pally, I'd probobly take sta/str equally just for extra HPs. Haste is rabid though. 2 ways to look at it, A) Cuts ##/100 off of your weapon's delay, or B) Reverse it and it adds ##% to your weapon's damage (of course its really taking off delay but the ratio ends up beign the same.) FBSS is 21%, that would be just about 1/5, so either your weapons do 121% damage or cut 1/5 off your delay, either way you can see its alot better then 1 or 2 damage. I doubt anybody is going to read this, but I spanked your grandpa with a paddle, cya!?

#Urfaust, Posted: Jun 14 2002 at 6:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This guy must have lost his mind, I will take, have taken and will remain to take the TBB over FBSS. The FBSS sucks, I have duels many of warriors with FBSS, and I had TBB and I have beaten all of them. We basically had the same weapons also. You must also think more on the line of AC. What do warriors need? STR, and AC. And a Pally c'mon who uses a pally, they suck, they are only good to save the caster with their Layhands. Pally's blow, I have played quite a few Chars and of all of them, I refuse to play a Pally. So back to the point, Warriors, tanks, need AC and STR, the FBSS what's it's ac? Oh that's right 0, and whats the str +? Oh once again, NONE, so it all proves the point that the FBSS is worthless compared to the TBB. That's why the TBB sells for more still.

hmm lemme think u r obviously not very clever if u think 15 str makes up for 21% haste u will hit for maybe 1 or 2 more dmg with tbb with fbss u will hit more times with the weapon u r using and i would think that ur dmg output should be better than 1 or 2 dmg but if you couldn`t grasp this idea i think u might have traded ur weapon for some 5dmg 40dly weapon seeing as u do not notice the obvious even if all the information is right infront of u

First of all you are obviously a newb. Although i do agree wit TBB being bttr than FBSS. Pallies do not suck. I found the ability to tank and heal a great plus. Over all any well equiped pally could take down a warrior easily. i have done it myself. Beaten a lvl 38 warrior at lvl 33. a 48warrir at lvl 46 and a 58 warrior at lvl 59. So if you say pallies suck OK. cuz when ur in a duel and the pally stuns and roots yer *** and backs off to heal him self all the way back up, youll be standing there at half hp,rooted waiting to be owned. BUT for the TBB. I camped it last week and we got 2 within 3 hours. No assasin pops. No bag drops. just 2 suppliers. If you really wanna take this easily just get a chanter to Aoe mez as soon as u get in room. If your a pally you dont really need a healer cuz ull probly be proccing enuf to kill them and if ur taking damage just back off and heal. i camped this at 32, with a few other peple 35-40 and soloed it at 49. As for frenzy, i never bothered cuz i like my TBB better. ill wait for the silver chitin gauntlets.

Ok not to be rude but people who say this class beats that class due to duels doesn't undesrstand the point of EQ. A tanks purpose is to maintain agro and absorb damage. A warrior does this much better than a pally because they hit faster with dual wield generally. I don't agree with the guy flaming pallies either...if you don't like a class that you have played you probably weren't playing em right. I think all classes have their uses but the true value of a PC is the ability of a player to use their skills to the best end for the group. Also if I were you I'd keep both items...use the FBSS when you are a secondary tank and use the TBB when you are the main tank.

I am a lvl 46 Shadow Knight. I have the SCHW and the TBB. It is a better combo than anything I can afford. After all you gain 18 AC, 18 Str, and have 22% haste, Plus the other stats of the SCHW.

This beats out just about any Glove/FBSS combo.

i might be missing something... but i seem to recall that the amount of haste available on any haste item is determined by your lvl ranging from 2% at lvl 1 to 50% at lvl 49... there is a very large difference between 21% and 50%

I've been camping Raster off and on for a couple days now with my 55 monk alt, and if ***/sup isn't camped, I'll head over there to pop those guys. Helps keep my live faction up so I don't get swamped by greenies when I camp at Raster spawn point. I've seen and killed assasin 4 times now, got the dirk 3 out of 4, and I've seen supplier 3 times now, has dropped belt every time. I tell you though, I'd trade it all for just one Raster sighting...

I've put in over 28 hours on this camp, and no TBB. ::cry::

The Ghoul Supplier spawns in the middle of the wall, opposite the ladder, in the space between the two groups of barrels. There are two other spawn points in the room: A random ghoul frog (to the left after you come up the ladder), and the Ghoul Assassin (to the right).

Both the Supplier and the Assassin have placeholders, and are rare spawns.

The Thick Banded Belt is most certainly the rare drop from the Supplier. His common drop is the Light Burlap Sack (I've watched several rot).

The Assassin drops the Mask of Deception commonly (camping this room means you'll get a LOT of tells from rogues/bards, asking for looting rights to this mask). His rare drop is the Serrated Bone Dirk. If he's carrying the dirk, you will see it in his primary hand.

The spawn time for this dungeon is almost exactly 28 minutes, although a friend noted last night that the spawn seems to be a "little delayed" when either the Assassin or Supplier is going to spawn. Not sure if that was just a timing error or coincidence, but it's interesting to note.

Between spawns, you can pull frogs from the surrounding area quite easily. The pathing here is quite good, and you'll notice a handy thing: Once the puller returns up the ladder to the room, there will be a brief delay, and then *POOF* the frog will appear directly on top of the puller. The puller should use this to best advantage by positioning themselves in the best spot for others to fight the mob. Remember to Snare/Root the frogs, though, because when they run they'll jump down the ladder and head for the bridge (with the gargoyles, wizards, and knights).

One other thing: VERY rarely, a fourth spawn will happen in this room, and it will be a Basilisk (although a tough level 30ish one). Not sure how the heck that happens, but I've seen it happen twice.

I was soloing in LGuk at level 32 (thank you Luclin for such a fine line of undead spells) when some desperate group in *** Sup needed a melee to round out their group and I was the only one in the zone that wasn't already in another farm group. Well, I IU'ed myself and ran to the room where there were at least 20 people sitting around, waiting for spawns.

One high level cleric (level 60 I believe) was rezzing and buffing everyone there for the right to loot the first dirk to drop. Needless to say, Mr. Sup spawns and everyone jumps on it. Cleric lands the final blow (and most damage), and announces that the TBB is available to the highest roller.

I rolled an 89 and won... out of a room full of people 40+. There were some in the room that said that I didn't deserve it and tried to ninja my precious cargo. Eventually it was given to me anyway.

I was in LGuk just trying to get some EXP (I levelled that night too, hehe), and ended up with this fine waist item. Sometimes it pays to be the luckiest summabeech paladin this side of Kaladim.

At lvl 50 i could solo ***/sup as a monk, who aren't the best solo, this story is obviously fabricated by somebody with down syndrome. At least make your false stories believable. TBB is not as rare as some people make it sound, after about 5-6 hours straight i got 2 and a light burlap sack, and tons of the rogue masks and dirks dropped too. And I should also add that the dirks suck ***, there is no way a 60 cleric is going to sit there buffing people to get it. So sick of people and their lame lies.

who the **** shoved a bug up yer ***? saying that it was fabricated by someone with down syndrome, jesus, at the beginning he said about 20 peeps in the room, and later said 40+, he was referring to level, second off, i have to agree with taangle, the cleric prolly camped the dirk for an alt, and since it isnt lore, he/she could get a couple dirks to sell. and how you got 2 tbb's is just pure luck, the drops are random ya never know when something's gonna drop (unless you have show-EQ), THIRD, monks ARE the best melee in the game, i know all ya flamers are gonna say tanks are, but ever seen a monk land a thunderous kick for 300+ damage? and they hit for 30-50 each while quading? ultimate melee shiat there, but anyway back to the point, no one hates him, everyone hates you, i bet yer the facking moron of the server, n00b/EBayer and ****** offer of everyone, get killed

First off, make sure of what you were reading. He said he was in a room of about 20 people, 19 ain't too far from that. And he said they were people 40+, not 40+ people. I'm thinking in terms of level here. Secondly, since the dirk is a Rogue only item, unless I'm reading it wrong, it sounds like the cleric was camping it for an alt. And since it also seems to be a fairly common rare drop (yes I know thats a contradiction) it'd be something I'd want for an alt character. Jaysus, lighten up.

I got lucky. It only took my 47th Necro two 4 hour sessions to get the supplier to drop this baby. It is a very nice belt. And with the new Luclin undead spells, camping Lower Guk has just become MUCH easier. When a Froggie Ghoul pops up, just send pet, cast undead slow, darkness, undead nuke, undead nuke, and then sit to med while your pet mops up.

It's good being a necro sometimes.

Took me two tries to get this UBER item...also got 3 light burlap sacks for my teammates (got mine my first try). At the same time we pulled the sage, executioner and evil eye to get their drops as well. Second times the charm...got this after the second spawn of the supplier, the assasin kept dropping only the mask and i was grouped with a wizard, 2 warriors and me a paladin so no one was able to benefit from it. Hehehe...never give up hope the paladin who was trained out of the camp site said he camped for over 8 hrs with no TBB. Lucky me I got it since the rest of my teammates got an FBSS already so I was the only one lacking but with this belt and its +15str increase I can hit for over 120 now with my ACG. HOORAH!!!

Ok, heres the deal. The TBB is an uber rare drop. NBG only applies in guk groups if its stated at the form of the group. If the group already existed then its your job to find out loot before joining.

Everything in guk can be camped by a group of low to mid 40s if they group is balanced right. IE, don't try to take frenzy with a 4 lvl 40 tanks and a drood or shammy healer and a nuker.. the healer will go oom, the nuker will aggro suicide, and everyone will die. No fun at all.

Guk is a great zone, not a zone for inexperienced players though, so if you're planning on going, go with someone thats been before, and take a map of your own, so when people tell you about reference points, you know what the look like.

Ok... now I'm hearing very conflicting prices for this on Rallos. Someone told me 1.2-1.5k for it. Was he trying to lowball me or is this what the belt really sells for now?

Easily 5-6k on Vaz; FBSS 6-8k

And almost a year later (not sure how I ended up on this old post hehe) TBB is 1800-2kish and FBSS is usually 3k; 2-3k during prime time bazaar hot competition hours and sometimes higher.

It wouldn't surprise me. Lots of things are like that on Rallos. For instance, FBSS only goes for ~3.5k instead of ~8k that you would find on most other servers.

High level druid's do NOT need TBB!

You're level 53 and have a Str buff for how many points? Something along the lines of 45? You can teleport to within 10 seconds of the Rivervale bank in Misty Thicket and gate back to your dungeon after selling. I play a druid alternate and realize that druids dont have alot of strength but at your level encumbrance is not a problem for you and if it were it'd benefit you 10 times more to get the suppliers common drop which is a weight reduction bag. What you want is the cash you're gonna get for selling it or to twink it down to your newbie tank.

This in itself isnt an argument against you farming it and if camps are open AND nobody that is the appropriate level to get EXP there wants it then you should certainly go for it. However, I'm not for a single person using up a camp that is made for a full group. Get yourself to Sebilis or somewhere and loot something thats worth twice as much!

Whether you are entitled to camp it under traditional rules and whether its ethically correct for you to do so to the detriment of others are two different questions.

I haven't farmed, as of yet, but I have solod different mobs, for my own items. There is no reason NOT to farm items. I presently am a lvl 52 enc, and have gone into MM. There was no way I could have done that alone at any time, and on my server it's usually dead in there.

Yeah, its okay for a guild to claim a spot and set up pharm detail on that spot. I enjoy a game where parts of it are "owned" by certain people and if I want to adventure there I have to wait for my turn, which will never come. I like being yelled at for KSing because I got agroed while walking through a dungeon and killed the mob to keep myself from dying. I enjoy having to shout "camp check" in every place I go to so as not to interrupt anyone's all important pharm camp. Yes, these are the things we all enjoy.

GRRRRRRR I had a 50/50 shot at the belt too...Assassin spawned 7 times in the same time, and dropped mask 5 times, and Serrated Bone Dirk twice. The supplier conned white to my group's level 36 enchanter....so he is 36 I guess. Fights like 41-44 tho GRR. Oh well, I dinged 42, and made 3 yellow bubs into 43 so it isn't a total loss hehe =P

NBG = Need Before Greed

It means, if your a right class and havent got this item, you can have it without roll... neat rules. Don't cheat..

NBG is ok in some situation for example when you are raiding dungeon with large group 10-15 ppl and you plan to get lots of items.... but in a secluded group.... no way....

If your group is camping *** SUP room and after
3 hours the Assasin drops a SBD everyone has equal chance of getting it... cos despite the fact the Rouge in the group can use it.... everyone else can sell it and in tern buy the Items they need.

If NBG was the common looting method the economy of EQ would go down the drain... WestCommons would be empty with no one auctioning for items

And Rooms that needed Certain classes to control eg. Chanter when the mob doesnt drop anything a chanter can use... (just doing it for money) would be a whole lot more difficult... cos no Chanter is gonna want to hunt there.

NBG can be really nice. Most Raids I have been on, have used NBG. The reason I like NBG so much, Hunting in CT Ravenscaled arms droped. We had a rouge in the group who still had Patchwork arms. The Wiz and Druid both demanded it be randomed, while the other three non Rouges in the group wanted to give to the Rouge. But the Wiz and Druid (druid looted the arms) both said they were going to leave group unless we randomed. Druid also added he would take the arms with him. Everyone ended up rolling, and the Warrior won the random, and gave to the Rouge. Both Wiz and Druid ******* about him giving the arms to a group member who lost the random.

If you win a roll, you are free to give the item to whoever you want, if you would like to that is. Nobody has the right to tell you how to use your item after you win it :) I personally would go out of my way NOT to group with that druid again.

NBG is a rule necessitated only because EQ and sony/verant were too stupid to make so few items no drop, which causes twinking to be rampant. In a group where someone needs an item like those ravenscale I think you should have booted the druid for suggesting he would leave and take the arms as soon as he got his low roll off. what a couple of money grubbing freaks, just like wizards and druids usually are, like they can't make enough money porting around a little bit they gotta hog everything, quad kite, and farm low level dungeons too, kings of KSers too. thanks for the rant time.

P.S. I am so glad that they added a whole lot of real awesome no drop items on Luclin, its about friggin time!

Most uber guilds have black lists. And yes I would have added them to mines black list. Just remember, one day that "little" guy that you just stiffed will one day have his revenge. Because you never know, he may be the only one to help you in a bad situation. And if it were me, I'd tell'em no.

Don't know about anyone else but from the sounds of that instance I'd write down the names of the wiz & druid & not camp with them again, as well as posting 'em on guild page as an FYI for guildmates. It's fine if most everything is lotto'd in a group, but something class specific like Ravenscale is dropping, and there's a rogue with PW or similar still, give the poor guy/gal a break & let 'em have it. That's as bad as groups in Dalnir doing a lotto for Fighting Batons when there's a monk in the group who doesn't have any. (Yes there are non-twink monks without, Just not too many. I got my first one on a Dalnir raid not too long ago at 35.)

Well nbg mostly is for Class Specific items. Look for Fs stuff some raw-hide stuff NO NBG, thats just for MONEY. Like the ravenscale part, i would have as grp leader thrown them out or start a new grp without em. Every1 needs money (in this game), but if you are a pure caster lets say of level 38 and a item drops that is pure casters only, wouldn't u be ****** off if you were the only caster that could use the item and the Rog won the roll and sold it for Ph3wt Lw3t???

Yes i know you would. And no you wouldn't like it if some warrior won the roll infront of ur nose, while you are still using raw silk in that one spot. Also c'mon if ur Twinked As **** and that first time player still uses patchwork and doens't have all velium jewelry but just silver, wouldn't you like feel a LIL' bit sorry for him, JUST A LIL' BIT SORRY???

Hmm, do you think it's fair for Cobalt Gaunts to go to a shaman so she can twink her level 2 warrior with it? No.
Or how about camping FBSS and being told you can't roll on it even though you are the only person in the group who would make use of them?

The Supplier is lvl 36 - 38 (not sure which), hits in the 90s and can't be solo'd by a lvl 41 pal. It is NOT a lvl 30 mob as posted by Anon.

He does spawn by assassin though, common is the light burlap sack.

Well I had just joined an ***/sup group last night when he spawned, we killed him, and he dropped TBB. We run back up to the loft after various woots and hoorays, and I say "1000?" The other members say "No, the monk gets it, NBG"

=| I made a small case pointing out that a paladin had just as much need for such an item, but was pretty much told since they were all friends and I just joined up, and since monk was higher lvl (and some bs about how this is best monk belt in game laf), I didnt really put up much of a fight. I've just now woken up this morning, and I feel ripped off. Especially after I told a 52 monk friend about it and he laughed and said paladins need the belt more.

Anyway, just curious what anyone else thought about that. I do realize its 0.5 weight, etc, but to me that doesn't automatically default it as monk gear...

(ps... all this after losing a roll on fbss to a chanter =P)

I'm not going to state what classes should have this belt and which classes can't have it here, since that is an exercise in futility. NBG is tricky at best when you are in a pickup group since you can never be certain of the other members intent and honesty. I'd say that a monk should go with an fbss in his waste slot but on the other hand maybe the monk had chitin handwraps or CoF and wanted ac in that slot. Then you can start discussing how much need a monk with an 11k item in his hand slot has for this over a guy with leather and stuff but as I said, it's tricky.

The only way to do a dungeon like this if you want the items in it is of course with friends and guild mates. By level 40 you have met many players and should have made some friends. That of course depends on how you have acted in your previous groups. For instance, rolling on everything, everywhere, is not a good way to make friends. Personally, if I have a better or equivalent item I never roll on it. Never. If the group insists on rolling and I win, I give the item to the person who needs it. Simple, and it gains you a whole bunch of friends willing to come help you in situations like these. At level 49 I still didn't have a haste item so I came down LGuk to have a look at the FG. It took me a while to find him and when I did he wasn't camped. So, I took a look at the guild and asked a cleric to come with me. She had nothing better to do so she agreed. There were no chanters on and none on my friends list so I had to invite one from outside. 12 hours of camping and 2 belts dropped, one went to the chanter who immediatly picked up and left and one went to another melee who also left as soon as he got it. Tried again later in the week, and this time had a chanter friend come down, a level 55 cleric that I know and who's in my guild. I was level 50 and we had no trouble handling the spawn in there. A level 49 wizzard friend that I had met in KC asked me if he could join since he only had 3 blue bubs till level and of course we let him in. 2 hours and I had my belt and in the meantime we had alot of fun pulling like 6 mobs and letting the chanter and the wizz practice some AE killing. The wizz got his level, we stayed so that the people on the waiting list could invite some people to form a new group and not have to face a full pop and then we left.

Moral is, if you have acted well and basically been a nice person in your group life you should have friends willing to help you out. I have myself helped people camp stuff that I have no possible use of, just because I like them and want to help out. NBG works in many ways, one of them is gaining you friends. Druid vambraces drop in KC, of course you give it to the druid. Next time you are shouting for a port in WC he just might remember you and help you out. It's a give and take thing, if you never give, don't ever expect to receive.
RE: NBG
# Sep 02 2001 at 4:25 PM Rating: Decent
Need before greed, a wonderful concept. I just wish it WERE practiced more often. I've lost out on so many items I've needed to upgrade my armor that I've about given up on the whole game, and I was the only warrior in the group in quite a few situations. I don't CARE if some enchanter thinks he should roll for an item that is melee only, just because he was there. It's us tanks that keep his sorry **** alive when he nukes too soon and gets aggro. So what if he can't sell something to get an insane amount of plat, he's still alive at the end, because of the efforts of the TANKS. (the most underrated, over abused class in the game) We have the hardest epic, very few drops in the uber zones, and have to take all the damage in a fight. If the drop is for a caster, I don't even bother to roll, because they can help me kill the mob faster if they have better stats, but it's rare to find some who feel the same. (gets off the soapbox)

umm from a friend of mine (54 pali)pali epic is prolly the hardest one (rogue bein the easiest)i think warrior is inbetween(??) also you said in the end the warrior keeps the casters alive.... lol if everyone thought like you there would be no chanters for clarity, haste, or crowd control
no clerics for healing (tho you didnt mention clerics... im assuming you might be suggesting it since you gotta pull the aggro off them too) so in the end.... EVERYONE keeps EVERYONE ELSE ALIVE!
cant just say 1 class does all the work... yes warriors take the beating and they die alot but theyd die alot more without all the other classes around.. (not a high lv myself but its a minor thing called COMMON SENSE! that lead me to post this)

You got screwed bad and I'm sorry to hear it. It is a good idea to check loot rules in most locations but in your case things in guk are pretty standardized and who would have suspected that your group would pull that.

I do notice that lately with some newer players that are reaching high levels so fast and have so much nice stuff, they never paused to learn the ettiquette of the game. Therefore the world of Norrath is becoming more and more cut-throat.

As for two people monopolizing frenzy and not letting anyone else in...that is clearly BS!!! Is nothing sacred?

I agree, you should always ask a group when you first join to see if you want to stay or not. Always ask about loot orders, rolling drops, etc.. This should help you determine if you want to stay or not... You got ripped pal, but it sounds like you brought it on yourself...
RE: NBG

Yeah you got the shaft. Guk is in no way set up to be NBG dungeon. All the spawns are static, if your group is camping a certain area you know what will drop before hand. There's no mystery as to which mobs drop which items.

As for the chanter winning the fbss, that part I think is legitimate, he assumed just as much risk being in there as you did, just as you did with the TBB.
RE: NBG
# May 20 2001 at 10:16 AM Rating: Default
Let's just state the rule.

EVERYTHING in Lower Guk is /random. NO NBG!

Otherwise only casters would camp the AM and only melee would camp the Frenzy. And trust me, 6 good tanks vs the Frenzy spawn are pretty much toast.

In Lower Guk groups recently (with the nifty loot available other places) it has become more acceptable to have LESS then 6 person groups and put everyone else on waiting lists. You don't need 6 people in every spawn anymore, and there are other places to go for exp. (Saw one 2 person frenzy group, and they refused to make or keep a waiting list. Now that seems a LITTLE greedy...)

If there is a special circumstance (like a level 53 mage camping the Ghoul Sage) where they can solo the spawn, don't need to pull other green mobs, etc etc there has been a few cases of "you can group up, take all the trash mob loots, but _I_ get the next *nifty item* to drop and we aren't rolling on it" ... But that needs to be clearly stated when you join the group. And as always...

CHECK THE LOOT RULES FOR THE PICK UP GROUP BEFORE YOU KILL ANYTHING!! Period. End of story. You didn't check the party loot rules, too BAD! You have to abide by them anyway.

They alreayd have it worked out, however they should not let someone else in(non friend), who is there and is helping them not have a shot at it. Then people should start updating the pricing by putting down how much they paid or traded to get it. I've seen exactly one so far, and it went for 6500, so the price can vary quite a bit, depending on time, location, and server. On Tholuxe Paells, they go for about 5500-7000, whereas on Tallon Zek I've seen 'em as low as 3100.
