Banded is a nice newbie set of armor. There are thirteen (13) pieces in the set (Belt, Boots, Bracer [2], Cloak, Gauntlets, Gorget, Helm, Leggings, Mail, Mantle, Mask, Sleeves). The whole set of armor will give you +91 to your armor class (thats with 2 bracers). When I first started EQ banded was really popular and would sell for 2pp per ac point. This was pre-bazaar. Now you can get various piece in the bazaar for fairly cheap from those trying to up their blacksmithing skills.

I am getting this tonight. COntacted someone to get it smithed for me... I am getting the full set for 80pp. If you buy a full set dont pay more than 80pp!!

Kludaen, are you single-handedly trying to ruin the market for blacksmiths? The going rate almost everywhere on every server for banded is 1pp per AC, thats 91pp for a full set, sometimes more if you make your smith trek across the globe in search of small or large molds. Please don't quote prices on this kind of stuff like that UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!!

Banded still goes for 1pp/AC on Tunare at least. I've had a number of people ask me to make pieces and I've sold a couple sets. Is there better stuff? Gods yes. Does that mean I'm going to sell a suit of banded for 60pp? Hell no.
I too use it to level up so I can make cultural. I sell virtually everything to vendors. This doesn't mean I'm going to sell at a loss/break even to players just because they think it's a fair price. If I can't make a profit to cover my time, and I can't get skill raises (only cloaks, gloves & legs now), what's the point? I sold a set to a guildmate for cost, which was 49pp with 1 failure. Don't expect people to take the time to make a suit of banded for your twinks for 11pp profit.

Well, Fannyar, perhaps you shouldn't quote prices unless YOU know what you're talking about. The banded market has gone down permanently because of the large amounts of better stuff in the hands of players. Why buy banded for 1pp per AC when you could get something better for not too much more? I saw a full set of medium banded (all pieces) for 60pp last night in the Qeynos area (an area that almost always has inflated prices, do to its "backwater" location). Banded is something used mostly to help smiths improve their skill so that they can make fine steel plate (which isn't really worth its price, but you pay for style sometimes). Banded was 1pp per AC two years ago. Its value is certainly far less now, regardless of the cost to make it. My druid is currently working on his smithing skill, and I sell banded to the merchants, and they only pay out 2-3gp per AC for it, and I count myself lucky to be getting that. No player in his/her right mind would pay 1pp per AC for it.
