Large Modulation Rod better known as the "Death Stick" is ok to use only if you have over 23,000 hit points, otherwise you are looking for a rez.
The fact that other items and spells with much less potent effects have detailed in-game descriptions telling players the exact stats affected and by how much and this item doesn't indicates either sloppy development or sinister intention on the part of Sony programmers.
Or maybe the intent is to teach players never to click on anything without knowing in advance what it does!

I don't care to die a dozen times, trying to figure out just how many HP's these sticks transfer into mana. Does anyone happen to know? My chars are in the mid-80's, and I hate losing a whole boatload of buffs.

I got hit with 230000 hit points... sucked...

It just did it and got single hit for 23K not 230K. Regardless, that toon only had 8Khp so it was a "Loading Home Point" situation.

Put one of each in your house. You cannot ever get one again.
Find the Name of the spell and type it into blocked spell List

or
Large Modulating Shard

There must be a way that Melee Classes can block this. Does anyone know what the Spell Block Entry is?
I concur...Im a Necro and find these things on my cursor VERY ANNOYING!!! what is the spell block command for this, pls?

OMG I want to Duel every stinking mage on the damn server. I hate these things, I get them every 5 minutes. To block this one that comes from an AA ability, open your blocked spell list and type "large modulating shard"
