As Grove pointed out, these are used in recipes to create your gear. Looking above you'll see a bunch of recipes attached to this item, your gear is in those recipes.

This dropped item makes tier three of House of Thule armor. Here is how:
You need a one-use container called Shroud of Dreams purchased from Zande Vorich in zone Ferrott the Dream.
There are two versions of the recipe.
One - in the container put the Ambiguous Remnant piece you looted with a piece of tier two Recondite armor you already have that matches the designated armor slot. Combine.
Two - in the container put the (1) Ambiguous Remnant piece you looted with (2) a piece of Nebulous armor you buy from Ginale Vaultseeker (near Zande Vorich) which matches the body slot of the Ambiguous Remnant and (3) a bottle of coalescing agent for your class purchased from Zande Vorich. Combine.
