This is part of the Hermit's Hideaway quest, which also requires the Glowing Sapphire Shard and the GLowing Ruby Shard -- all LoN loot rewards I must presume thus far....

ZI got the emerald and sapphire shards both came from loot cards in newest packs. one with a trophy and one with a picture so assume third there too

Friend got this (or one of same name and graphic). It says "Inspect this shard more closely" I told him to click it and he says he got the message that is is a set of three and to gather the other two.
Sounds like a hidden quest.
