Ruins of KunarkObviously this is NOT an item that any mage would want. Not even a mage that was pre-kunark, when the epics (and Ixi) were made. So the most I can come up with is that it is for a quest. But WHAT quest?!
I dropped Ixi with a friend while I was in BW trying to find that darned Nezzy. We had just 1 group and he went down easy. No one died. But this dropped off him. And, since I was the only MAG/WIZ there, they let me have it. So it's currently collecting dust in my bank. Im sure as soon as I destroy it, some quest will magically appear saying its for a Mana Regen 548 item quest that takes 20 minutes to finish.
If anyone has any info on this, let the rest of us know, please. :D

I got this item the other day after we droped Ixiblat. I really dont understand why a Wiz/Mag would want this item - least of all any Wiz/Mag high enough to be on the raid that takes down Ixiblat.

No, 2 characters can't handle Ixiblat Fer. We did him with 4 groups, average level about 55 and still lost people. He has a decent AE, enrages at the end and hits damn hard.
As far as the wurms for burning embers go - expect to be there a while. Camped it 5 hours for only one drop.

Dont be so sure... I've done ixi with 3 peeps, Shammy, SK and cleric. I'm pretty sure that he would still be a easy kill with only shammy/sk

That being said, anyone have any information on Ixiblat Fer? I have been helping a Mage friend work on getting his Epic Piece from the named wurms, and I think if we could handle this mob, he might be happy with a new belt as well. (Better to fight a mob than to just sit there killing PH and praying) BTW the Epic Wurms, dont drop the piece everytime....sux but we killed each one (Naza..something and A..something...both had insane spelled names) and neither of them dropped. **Groans** but the exp is decent at 55.
