Went and charmed a skellie with my necro and hasted, bard pulled both to zone in radir first then tawro(took some time, and believe he used some AA skills). with my 54 beast pet and skellie tanking with 75% shammie slow these guys went down pretty easily. Got this rod of tawro for my 40 cleric too yay. :) Well was a nice surprise what seemed like another boring prayer for moktor drops :P. They both had alot of hps had to watch aggro too since charmed pet had trouble keeping them on him. generally just cast saryn's until they were abit low then nuked

Got one a couple of months ago using it now but as soon as I get epic. It will just sit in the bank

I think some people in the following posts are confusing Umbral (now) with Umbral (at first)....when Luclin first came out, Luclin was a mid lvl gimp zone....they then re-vamped it much higher / harder to what it is now...and yes the resists and stats are kewl...just not as good as epic and a decent sheild...

This item relpaced my SBS and my Dark Ember. I play on a real server Sullon Zek so the saves are great to have for all the time as opposed to you bloobie poons out there who whip out your resist gear for caster mobs. In anycase it has a UBAR graphic as well if you wanna see come to SZ and send me a tell... JONAH 55 Drood

Clerics seem to have a real hard on for melee so I suppose this will be popular along with that silly sunbeam staff from itraer.

i really have to agree with you fyrewalker. it makes no sense to have a lower lvl but newer zone drop better items than older but higher zones. this is the same kind of thing with the epic there are easier to get yet better weapons out there... you have to ask, "what is VI thinking when they do this?" the idea that they can change the loot that comes off mobs is a really good one maybe somebody should tell verant thats a possibility out there

After viewing the different items for different slots I've found that NOTHING of any real value drops out of the mainlands anymore. It's Luclin this Velious that... Even Kunark items are under-par. Verant may want to think about going back to it's roots and making more decent drops in the mainlands for 30+ people. Nobody groups in Velious unless it's a guild, and Luclin (even though my comp is way above recommended stats) still runs like crap.

It seems that Verant are working on it, with Cazic having been upgraded plus all the newbie zone quests (admitadly not uber gear but a change to wanting to twink). Overall though this is true, mainly to encourage people to buy the new expanisons. If verant brought out a new expansion and said sorry guys, the loot in the old world is still ten times better, we just thought this new zone looked good.
Nice. Better than the Staff of the Earthcrafters off a GOD. Wonderful thought Verant, but try retroactively improving weapons to match the new crap that drops from easier zones.
Either they have changed the mob that drop this, or you are mistaken.
We have killed CT quite a few times already and not once have we seen Earthcrafter drop from him. Although, we have seen it drop once from the Golem.
And, for your information. Umbral is not what I call an easy zone. In fact, Umbral is far harder than Fear and higher level.
Fear and Hate are just any other zones now. We go up there for exp and twinking our secondary characters that are lvl 46+

Maybe it's not as challenging cause you are a better player than the first few times you went :) and cause you have better gear? First time I wen to hate I died like 4 times. Now I hardly ever die. Still pretty good stuff that drops there though.
USED to drop off of a god, now drops off the golems in fear. I think Caz can still drop it, dunno, never been there when he died.

There is an INT-caster 2hb which drops there with the same dmg/delay so it could be called a comparable version. Sadly the int casters get screwed because their big stick doesnt have any saves on it compared to the 15 on all for this ...

The int casters dont really get screwed with their version of this staff. The Int one has +25 int/cha. Dont think either are going to be that popular. They really dont come close to epics.
