When you have this quiver on you and you have endless quiver do you need to have an arrow in the quiver in addition to having an arrow in your ammo slot?

Yes, and if you have 1 in ammo slot and 1 in quiver, it also makes autofire faster

Prescient Fleeting Quiver is once again 90% weight reduction.
nerf?

So with this nerf does that make fleeting quiver better? This would make no sense as it takes twice as much mats. to make this one...

Would be interested in confirmation if anyone knows - assuming the WR change made this mostly obsolete?

The January 11, 2012 patch changed the weight reduction(haste) on this item from 90% to 39%.

I wonder if that will have an effect on Ranger dps?

Not sure if there is a trivial level to use this. None listed on the item. My 84 Warrior can use it.
Behold the one true formula!
# Jul 23 2010 at 11:28 PM Rating: Decent
I have run many hours of parses on quiver haste recently, and as far as I can tell quiver haste is equal to one quarter of weight reduction as multiplicatave delay reduction. It is definitely not additive haste like worn/spell/v3; it provides more benefit at higher haste levels.

My parses fit this formula within a couple thousandths of a second:
((Bow Delay * 10) * (1 - (Weight Reduction / 400))) / Haste

If anyone has parses showing otherwise I would love to see them. It is obscene how many unverified variations of quiver haste formulas there are, each which is defended as the one true formula with no supporting proof. I tried every formula that I had ever read and none of them fit the data from my parses. Between this thread and the other quiver threads I want to tear my eyes out from all the misinformation by blind faith.

Bear in mind when you are parsing bow delay that the /autofire command has inherent delay and will skew your results if you do not factor this in.

***Also as of the date of this post, this quiver does absolutely nothing in many/most situations. If the result of the formula I posted above is below 1.0 with your bow delay, haste and quiver weight reduction combination, quiver haste has no effect at all. For example a 25 delay bow with haste higher than 213% will cause Fleeting Quiver to have no effect. If you have a 30 delay bow or higher(which is somewhat uncommon today), Prescient Fleeting Quiver will work at all haste levels. I am currently using a Jeweled Quiver of the Hand(35% WR) with my 25 delay bow because it is significantly faster than Fleeting or Prescient Fleeting Quiver at 216% and 225% haste. I don't guarantee the formula 100% without being able to see the code, but it has held true in over 100 parse variations I have run with different quivers, delays and hastes. The developers are aware of the issue and working on a fix.

Link to the thread discussing quiver haste and my parses at http://www.eqoutrider.net/eqforums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=5204

Feel free to pick apart my parses, or see if your own personal formula fits! Let me know if you find a winner! Just don't argue if you can't back it up.

Just got my quiver, majorly happy over my normal Fleeting Quiver. The 90% WR equates to 30% bow haste (WR/3), of course there are a kabillion different takes on this but thats been the law on quiver WR since the game started so...

The additional 4 slots are a blessing if you use spells such as Heartshear or Enraging Shot, an exta 400 casts before it's time to head back to the fletching merchant.

As for the ultra rare HQ Lion Skins, I am more likely to hope they keep it this way. The Fleeting Quiver was always something a bit higher due to how hard it was to get the skin, and this is double so. I've been farming NK for the last few years any downtime I get, working to get skins so I could equip up and coming rangers in our guild with FQ. In all that time I believe I've seen about 20 skins drop, and I was lucky I had 4 hiding on a mule that I had forgot about.

For rangers this is an excellent and very special piece of equipment, I would really hate to see them increase the drop rate of the skin so much that this quiver becomes bazaar trash.

This is true, if it was too easy to get it would become baz trash fast. I spent a couple hours there a day for 4 days to get my skins. Its not hard to get them it just takes investing your time which will help keep people from farming them like crazy, unless they have no life at all.

The downfall is i can see some people getting nasty over other people in the zone after the same thing but at lvl 85 everything dies in one hit so whoever fires first its their mob. As long as everyones killing the trash mobs to make the highland lions spawn who cares.

It just came out not long before this post so lots of people competing over the lions atm but it'll die down fast. Besides it actually made it a little less boring, like racing with archery. Load the range 170 arrows and 250 bow and a fast horse and charge!

Aye, its been quite entertaining on my druid out here last few days.................. Charm Animal, preferably a Highland Lion, most fun for the $$, followed by Pet Guard ( this spot ) run back a ways..... Tree Form...... then sit back and chuckle when the charging rangers come up and try to kill it...... then they realize its a pet and start looking around....ROFL... fun times for a druid.

You must scribe the scroll labeled "On Quivers" bought from the Useful Automated vendor in Brell's Rest before you can make this. As of the date on this post, the baz token lady will not accept this to trade for a bag token.

Vial of Distilled Mana
Fleeting Quiver Pattern
2 X's HQ Lion Skin
Griffon Feathers
Aviak Egg oil
Cosgrove Powder
Putrescent Fungal Spores

Trivial at 355.

Back to North Karana to faarm HQ Lion skins....

Aparaently they just didn't have the item up pre-patch on drinal. Looks like the item you need to get is "On Quivers" or some such scroll.

Which book has the recipe? And do you need to have progressed to a certain point for it to show up on the vendor?
How do you get it?

I think we can all agree its an upgrade, question is how do you get one? Hoping tradeskills because if its from a high end UF raid most of us are out of luck.

Unless I am mistaken, 90% weight reduction will reduce the delay by 9 on a bow.
Example: 35/24 Blackborrow Hunting Bow would become effectively a 35/15 bow with this quiver vs 35/18 one has with the normal fleeting quiver.
An increase of +20% to DPS over the Fleeting Quiver before any haste from other item/spell/song effects or
an increase of +60% to DPS over no quiver before any haste from other item/spell/song effects.

In 2 minutes (120 seconds) using the Blackborrow Hunting bow:

Raw (no quiver or additional haste effect): 50 arrows
Fleeting Quiver (Quiver only): 66 arrows
Prescient Fleeting Quiver (Quiver only): 80 arrows

Raw+Swiftwind (only Swiftwind's 40%): 70 arrows
FQ+Swiftwind (only Swiftwind's 40%): 93 arrows
PFQ+Swiftwind (only Swiftwind's 40%): 112 arrows

Above are estimates only; if someone would be kind enough to varify with a 24 delay bow by parsing :)
Results may vary, the lower the delay of the bow. The greater the effective haste difference.
2 minutes and the Blackborrow Hunting Bow were selected to make the math easier.

The Prescient Fleeting Quiver's 4 extra slots over the Fleeting Quiver, allows for nearly double selection of arrows (9 slots vs 5 slots)to be available with out having to use up extra inventory slots on class 3 silver tipped arrows (Heartshot spell line regent).

The new archer must have item?
a good bow, Fleeting Quiver, blessed arrows, HoA spell line, EQ, AM3 and Vine Lash Cascade were the archery kit.
Now Prescient Fleeting Quiver has been added to the self respecting archer kit.
I wonder how much of a PITA item it will be to obtain. (drop or quest data please)
I hunted for HQ lion skins for weeks to supply enough for 4 tailoring attempts.

(please don't flame, just correct my math or assumptions if I am in error).

The quiver looks awesome, and it will be nice to have an upgrade quiver from my ranger alt.

I think the Wt Reduction is % Haste vs points of improvement
(for example, 100% Wt Reduction/Haste = 100% speed up = twice the speed, so the 35/24 would become 35/12 with a 100% WR/Haste, and approx 35/13.2 with 90% WR/Haste)

LOL . going to force me to test this with my Warrior, so I can see the arrows used up over time

My testing, although not as thorough as I wanted, as I still wanted to test it on a 20ish delay bow to confirm. Anyway, it appeared to be WR%/3 = bow haste, rather than WR%/10 = delay reduction. Scions are good NPCs to test on, as they take no damage, and don't aggro, but will take the bow hits as Invulnerable.

If I ever get around to getting a Wind Saber on a toon for the 22 delay, I'll retest it vs. more common 36-48 delay bows, and it should be definite one way or the other then, as the higher delay bows figured using the WR%/10 = delay reduction, ends up being very close to the same haste as WR%/3, but the difference was enough on my last tests to indicate it was more likely the WR%/10.

Your tests are almost certainly correct if you think about it. If it were a WR%/10 delay reduction, that would make Bow of the Destroyer (10/17) an 8 delay weapon. Add 70% haste from enchanter haste, and it's about a 5 delay weapon. It would be tons more useful for a lower delay weapon than for a higher delay weapon.

Either way, it's very clearly an upgrade, and prices of the skins have risen to over 70k each on my server, and competition in North Karana is fierce. Unlike posters above, I hope they DO increase the drop rate slightly, or allow the skins to drop from other lions besides the highland lions exclusively.
