What is the point of +2 mana when by the time you can get this stuff, your spells take 45+ mana to cast (except for snare and maybe healing). +2 mana is a waste, now +10 on a few pieces would make it worth on there. Same with the dex, grotesque alloy can be gotten in a group around 30 and has 6ac +7dex +2 or 3agi +5svM, MUCH better.

Sadly the risk vs. reward strategy of variant seems off here, considering that there are better masks if you just do a little research, groutesque (sp?) alloy comes to mind off the top of my head.

If I had to sum this item up in 2 words, I'd have to say "This Sucks". At level 45, you should have better items than this.....and let me just say that this ain't an easy quest to do at 45 either.

Name one item that is better than this and attainable by yourself (as in, not purchased) at 45. Can't? Didn't think so. I suppose it's *possible* to get in a group and win a mushroom veil at 45, but that's not a common drop, which means you can go out and easily get it.
This mask is slightly better than cougarskin. Probably not worth doing since cougarskin is such an easy quest, but this item is not worse than what the average ranger is wearing at 45. It isn't better either.
I gotta wonder, is this like some sort of "I'm better than you because I have gear far beyond my level" thing? I just assume most people posting were totally twinked out by friends and have no idea of where good come from.

you could try going for the horned beetle nask 6ac +4str +3sta +6 vs magic +6 vs poison, it drops in hollowshade moor from a named beetle "gorehorn"

What I'm saying is that with the effort to do this quest, it's not worth it. Which means that it sucks. And, thank you very much, but everything I have on my Character I've gotten for myself....whether it's buying it, questing it, or waiting for the darn things to drop...I did it all myself. It's something I'm proud to say I did and would do over again if I started another character.

I realized after posting that I needed to change my Signature...the level on there was wrong.
