Rod of Mystical Transvergance
Decrease Hit Points (HP) by 450
Increase Mana by 360

Effect: Shield of Auras
Increase Absorb Damage by 300
Increase All Resists by 5
Increase Mana by 2 per tick

So when you click Mod Rod it take 150 real life from you +300 Damage Absord from Effect on Shield.
Does this count towards the worn FT cap?
# Feb 09 2004 at 9:05 AM Rating: Decent
Quick clarification question: If this is a FT2 clickie-buff, then it doesn't count towards the FT15 worn cap? So with this I could max my worn FT at 15 and then have this so as to make my FT17?
RE: Does this count towards the worn FT cap?
# Mar 03 2004 at 12:38 PM Rating: Decent
The Mana Regeneration effect on the proc has nothing to do with Flowing Thought, it is wholly separate.

So to answer your question, yes, you can have FT15 + this for 17 Regen per tick. It also stacks with many other spells too.

Indeed, that is why the wizard epic is a clicky.

It does not stack with force shield.

being a clicky, its usually advantageous to just use this instead of force shield since its still 2/mana a tick regen plus added saves, Force shield is 750 hp rune, and if im pulling ill keep it memmed, but for all other intended purposes the convenience of having this as a clicky is priceless

not with barrier of force

my guild kills him quite often now so if i get it ill update here and tell you whether it stacks with rune arcane rune or spell shield.

Honestly i hope that it does but i think it wont

I just got the shield from AL after 5 kills of it dropping other items. Grats me. About the stacking, this DOES stack with ANY rune that DOESNT have an FT effect on it. This means that it DOES stack with rune 6, arcane rune and the bedlam line of enchanter buffs, but NOT with the wizzy epic, spellshield (the wizzy dmg absorber with FT effect i mean by this!).

The effect also DOES NOT stack with the beast lord line of buffs (spiritual purity etc)

Hope this helps everyone like it has me :)

I got it last night and it stacked with Spiritual Dominion. Which I'm thankfull for since i can't use my epic buff with that spell line. I love the rune aspect of epic buff and i hate giving it up for more mana just in case i get summoned. While not as good as the barrior of force any little bit helps.

Someone actually calling MAGE on an item??? This has GOT to be a first.

Been wandering around these boards for over a year now. This is the first time I have ever seen someone say Mage item. I LOVE YOU GUYS!

Makes me feel all tingly about modding the clerics =D

Post Mod Rod nerf, this shield is maybe best for enchanters now, since they get hit the most and have no self only mana regen spells. Mages should not be taking damage except AoE damage, however mages are the only class that can use that don't get a rune spell.

Necros and wizzies really should not get this item before enchanters and magicians, since the effect will not stack with wiz epic, or the 750 point componentless rune with 2 mana per tick that necro/wiz get.

Yes indeedy , enchanters get no SELF ONLY mana regen spells. Wizzies have familiars, mages have 60th buff, necros have liche, clerics .. well they have 58 spell but doesnt stack with druid potn, shammys have canni, druids have mask spells.. enchs have Jack All for self mana regen. So in a raid, they have the least regen of the caster/healers around since *everyone* is wearing KEI/VOQ and they have nothing to add to it.

RE: Ye gods!
# Aug 21 2003 at 3:30 PM Rating: Decent
You forget that necros cannot use KEI/VOQ. Therefore our extra little 2m per tick from forceshield is all we get. HOWEVER, I don't feel that the extra mana regen is what makes this shield valuable. It is the rune that makes it valuable. As mages are the only Int casters that do not get rune spells of any kind, I think it's only fair that they get the first shot at it.

I'm not all for "This should go to this class!" However, you must admit, a mage would get much more use out of this than you would. Either you can have an additional 2m per tick regen (Mind you there are MUCH better clicky mana regen items out, in VT and the planes) or a mage can get his first taste of a 300+ rune. I'm all for fair shots at loot, but you do see that its usefulness to you is limited, whereas to a mage it would be godly.

That's all I've got to say...

My god, morons everywhere.

Necros "cannot" use clarity line spells when they, by their own decision, use the lich/skel form hp ==> mana spells. Why? because they get BETTER MANA REGEN out of using their own as opposed to getting clarity. Furthermore, Gift of Brilliance stacks with skel form and the self only manashield, giving an extra 2 mana regen per tick for some totally UBER mana regen, better than any other class.

Enchanters don't get any self only mana regen BUFFS, but we (yes, I am one) do get theft of thought and scryer's trespass, which I can assure you are better mana regen than anyone else out there gets if you are in a position to use them. Just for clarification.

Mages may not have any form of rune shield and I'm not saying that I wouldn't congratulate from the bottom of my heart a mage getting this item, but it is a simple fact of life that enchanters NEED runes far far more than mages do. A skilled mage will almost never get aggro. A skilled enchanter will get aggro routinely, it's part of the danger of being an enchanter, and it's things like arcane rune and this happy happy shield that mitigate that danger.

So, my verdict? Best for enchanters, next best for mages, slightly useful for necros, and virtually useless (unless you just need the stats) for wizards.

An enchanter cares because as stated while everyone else has some form of kei as well as their selfbuff, enchanters only have kei. so they realy are getting the least amount of mana back of the arcane and maybe divine as well.

As a wizzy when i'm Raid buffed for maximum mana regen i have Clarvoyance, Oak, Familiar and bst crk. my famialir gives me about an additional 6 mana regen. thats 6 more than an enchanter would in same situation. that is why not having a self buff is important.

Now granted i just won this last night, and I'm extremely happy i did. that's an additional 2 mana i can get while having a rune and use bst crk. So While i already have a rune (that doesnt stack with bst crk) and i have self mana buffs, Every little bit of extra mana i get helps. so theres no way i would not have rolled for this.

any guild who lets their non-magicians loot this item before all their magicians have one, is a guild who is so inept and unorganized, i highly doubt they could manage to take down al at all.
therefore this discussion is pointless ;)
#REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2002 at 3:43 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) A mage would not necessarily make the best use of this item. Summoning mod 2's to use costs mana itself, and would be very inefficient. Any caster who has a manarobe or manastone would make better use of this than a mage strictly mod-rodding it.
RE: Wrong...
# May 11 2002 at 9:47 PM Rating: Excellent
Summoning a TRod costs the average mage with spec conj about 350mana. It returns 660. Now lets see, 4.5 seconds to summon the rod, 10.5 seconds total spent putting up the shield to soak the damage 3 times. 300ish mana recovered in 15ish seconds, which is 2.5 ticks. Show me another class that can consistently recover 120 mana per tick and I'll agree with you.

Not to mention wizzies can rune themselves with epic, chanters can do it with spells, and necros don't exactly need help with mana regen.

I own a mana robe and will likely give it to one of my guild members because I'm more efficient at generating mana by self rodding. The Shield of Auras would turn a mage into a highly effective mana generator.

It is necro usable, does not affect the FT calculation, stacks with most mana regens except Force Shield. Some overlook the extra resists (5 each for 25 total) that the clicky effect provides. One has to wear it to make the clicky available and right after a rez this is one of the first spells I use to add a HP buffer and add to regen.

My only problem is you cannot add this to a character on Allakhazam. It does not show up as a necro item even though the description shows it is necro useable.

OK, 'Very' wasn't terribly helpful.
He hits between 264 and 664 and since his minions flurry I'd be very surprised if he doesn't.
He has a large radius AE that is hard to resist, is a DoT for 180000 (!) Hit Points in 1500 ticks and drains 1500 mana. It also adds 9 curse counters, so you need RGC to cure it. He's only level 65 though...how many HPs can he possibly have? :)

He doesn't flurry from memory but he rampages ALOT. He also has alot of hitpoints, probably 500k+ (maybe closer to 800k). His curse is very nasty and casters tend to come out 2nd best versus it. If your guild doesn't have many players with RGC, then don't even think about this guy.

Stacking Bugged
# Mar 07 2002 at 4:15 AM Rating: Decent
The stacking of the effect is most likely bugged. Its an upgrade to "Boon of Recovery" (on the Orb of Lost Souls, has 150hp rune and 2mana regen) which stacks with clarity but not with Transon's Phantasmal Protection. This one doesnt stack with clarity but stacks with TPP.
Still pretty nice to use with mod rod 2 (about 80mana/tick regen without taking any dmg).
Disappointing
# Mar 06 2002 at 1:53 AM Rating: Decent
Sorry to disappoint all those folks who were looking foward to this, but the shield currently has no graphic, and the effect does not stack with any clarity or runes higher than rune III. So basically I suspect it would not stack with the wizard epic either (though I have not tested it). The stats on this are very nice, but the effect has serious stacking issues that make it all but useless save to perhaps necromancers and mages.
