Tolan's DW Bracer summons 100 arrows

Major woot! Tolan's Bracer now summons a stack of 100 arrows per cast. I used Bloody Ancille's Pouch up until this time for one major factor...cast time. But now, how the worm has turned. Ancille's is still 20 arrows per cast while bracer is 100.

Ancille's Pouch:

Cast time: 5 seconds
Arrows: 20
Time to summon 100 arrows: 25 seconds
Component: Purified Crystal
Component cost: 10pp per stack
Arrow damage: 1 Range: 50

Tolan's DW Bracer

Cast time: 15 seconds
Arrows: 100
Time to summon 100 arrows: 15 seconds
Component: NONE
Arrow damage: 3 Range: 50

So now, the bracer summons a stack of arrows (100) more quickly, is component free and arrows do 3 times the damage.

The only drawback is the "Temporary" status of bracer arrows. No biggie. Just summon what you think you'll need. If you run out, no biggie, summon more. If you have some left over, no biggie, summon more when you log back in.

Of course you can't use the bracer until level 45, so Ancille's pouch will serve until then. But since the bracer now summons a stack of 100, the bracer now becomes desirable from level 45 until you get EQ.

info.

cant use it till level 45,
normally sells for 9k-20k on BB server,
is a piece of crap imho but thats just my style...
i didnt use my bow much except for keeping up
skill and paying that much for it was outta the
question back then, just used a Bloody Ancille's Pouch till i got EQ and now i only need 1 arrow.
Plus the Cast time is poo....

55 Outrider here with maxed archery (for my level) and now that i'm forced to use silver and serrated arrows, it costs me a fortune to keep myself stocked up. so i want one of these for when i am either short on plat or run out of ammo while in a group. but 25k on Mith Marr! HOLY MOLY! I'll have to find where to camp to get one cause no way can i afford that.

I bought one of these today on FV for 18k (ouch) only to discover that I cant use it - my ranger is lvl 34!! I wish to heck they would put a minimum level on the description for these things. Also have the Tolan's Helm which I cant use yet. This site says I have to wait until I am 54. Pease tell me it ain't so!! What is the lowest level I could expect to be able to use both the helm and the bracer?

I also bought at an unusable lvl...43!! It finally started to proc. @45..and it is sweet !!!

It isn't a proc. It is a spell, there is a difference, a proc is a combat effect.

Yup.... same thing happened to me. Just got my level 46 this week and pulled this out of the bank and dusted it off. Its a long cast time but its made life sooooo much easier! Now those Snow Griffins that were invincible to my old regular arrows are going to pay! : o

Theres nothing worse the shelling out big plat for something only to find out you have to wait 15 more levels to use it!! In MOST casses you can look it up here to find that out but not ALL cases as this one proves.

Hang tight this one is worth the wait!

Happy hunting!!

Spent 13 hours camping Brogg with my 62 chanter and a 65 druid. After 10 hours Brogg finally spawned and I was drooling finally my ranger is going to have one. Carefully reaching to pick up my bracer what I do I find a friggin shield whats a shield going to do for a damage dealing, bow carrying Ranger. Bahh was ready to log and quit EQ forever LOL. Made the rounds of our camp pickler commander and disco and back and wow there is Brogg again. Got the bracer this time and the next round popped again and another bracer. This is a long camp and typical of EQ days may go by where a mob doesn't spawn or he may spawn 20 times in a row.

The option currently for non Rangers would be https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=23257 . However it does use a reagent that you can purchase at the Ldon Adventurer camps.

Great for Furbies in OOT i don't have one myself but in the group there i had the 55 Ranger there had one and at the time i still had about 7 stacks if regular arrows he gave me some of these did lots more damage it was funny watching him do a crit at 324 then do a regular hit at 384

Yeah I have the same problem... didn't work on my archery much til 54, now my regular double dmg hits tend to have higher damage than my crits.

Even though Kunark came out ages ago, these are still pretty rare to see auctioned on Drinal (I just sat up 8 hours trying to buy one in bazaar/Marketchannel). The idea of going to sebilis LFG is slowing dying out too, at least on drinal. Its mainly one of those "bring your own group" dungeons now. No clue as to the drop rate, never have gotten a group over on that side of seb, but apparently the people that have looted them, don't seem to be turning them loose yet. Guess it's time to round up the guild and try to get one in person.

aye I've run into that problem too on Drinal. Though in the bazaar its not uncommon to see 2-3 sellin at a time. Only problem is that they sell for 19k+ which is sometimes more expensive than the breastplate. My ranger could really use this though so I'm tryin to save up.

Why buy one, just camp the darn mob. Finally, after 8 hours of camping Brogg and after 3 of Broggs' corpses lie at my feet, I have one.

Hmmm... Now I need a Wind Saber, Windstryker, Sarnak War Bow, Bow of the Destroyer, or Bow of Shadows and a Fleeting Quiver. I'll sell this bad boy when I'm a Hunter and have Endless Quiver :)

Heheh.. Skip the Fleeting Quiver and just go quest the Jeweled Quiver of the Hand. Quest info is available on this site and its SUPAH easy to get, kill one level 45 mob in Katta and take a letter from him to an NPC in Sanctus. Done, thats it, Finito.

Jewelled Quiver is 6 slot 35% haste to bow and I think it was 0 weight as well.

RE: 7 hour Camp
# Jun 12 2003 at 9:04 AM Rating: Decent
it's a 35% weight reduction, not haste, haste on a quiver is 1/3 weight reduction. quiver of the hand about 11% haste, fleeting around 20%
RE: 7 hour Camp
# Feb 14 2003 at 4:51 PM Rating: Decent
Granted, the Jewelled Quiver is nice, but it's only a bow delay reduction of about 3.5. Fleeting quiver is about 6 and just as easy to get now in the Bazaar (if not easier). BTW, the weight is not 0 but 0.4 (close); it's the same as the fleeting quiver.

I just picked up one the other day for 5K. I have seen a few auctioned for 5K, but have also seen it auctioned for as much as 10K. So I would say, if you get it for 5K = good deal. I have never seen it auctioned for cheaper than this. :o)

OK, to put an end to the bs on this string, here it is. stats are ac14 with right click effect of summon arrows. arrow stats are dmg3 rng 50, and you have to be lvl 45 to use. The cast time is 15.0, so make as much as you need before a fight. This is an awesome piece of gear because i was dropping almost 30pp each time i had to make arrows like this. This is something with a effect that you will actually use as a ranger, unlike a lot of things which give crap buffs etc for this level.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 05 2002 at 10:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) 50 Range Arrows are good? For what, picking your teeth? My bow's range is 150. Why would I want 50 Range Arrows?
RE: I love this thing!!
# Jul 12 2002 at 12:35 PM Rating: Decent
Total range for on archery is bow range plus arrow range. So if you have a 150 range bow with 50 range arrows you have a total range of 200. That is already at around the maximum range for the long range spells, and plenty long enough for kiting.
RE: I love this thing!!
# Jun 26 2002 at 9:18 AM Rating: Decent
...because if you are bow kiting or sitting back plunking arrows instead of melee, 50 range is fine. These are free arrows to be used when you are out of higher damaging ones with longer range anyhow. Do you realize how many arrows you can use when fighting this way? It is hard to carry enough components with every available bag slot. heh I have never had any problems pulling, bow kiting or anything with 50 range arrows. You just have to stay focused on what you are doing. :)
RE: I love this thing!!
# Mar 19 2003 at 11:03 PM Rating: Default
/agree

Get a nice PoP bow, they are rather cheap now. For whatever reason, I got a Twisted Longbow (32/38, +2 magic dmg) for 4k, when NMW compound are going for 5k. Still, both are getting up towards 200 range, which is plenty enough for just about anything, even with zero range arrows. 200 range is more than enough for bow kiting, as much further and you're too far for buffs and heals.

I have this item on my troll monk, he summons the arrows and throws them at the mobs, since his strength is over 500, his range is usually zonewide, and damage averages about 5000K+ per hit. Crits are around 987k, that's the lowest one so far though (o.o)

PS if ya got pop...not only is there 61, but also 65. >=)

this is by far the one item that I have on my "must-have" list of equipment. Unfortunately, I havent had the chance to group up and camp brogg... I don't see these being auctioned in EC on Vazaelle-- there's definitely a reason for that. If anyone's selling one on vazaelle btw, send me a tell. That would be too bad cuz only Rangers can wear them. :)
I was given one of these by a pretty high (and pretty nice!) cleric who somehow won the roll and defeating the Need Before Greed critics around. Of course, there were no rangers there at the time so i'm sure their complaints were nothing more than frustration at having lost the roll. hehe!
