By the time you can reasonably get this item as a clr/dru/shm, you likely have your epic. Certainly for druids and shaman this is true. This item is kind of a booby prize, but useful if you are the one wis caster there without your epic.
As a 56 cleric without epic yet, this is an excellent weapon for us if we still have a ways to go for epic. We DO melee sometimes and the dmg/dly is better than Dark Ember, and if you have ever seen the graphic for this, it is WAY cool :) I am the proud owner of one myself and though the stats are good the vanity of the item is also well worth it. As far as what class it should belong to? It is much better suited for higher level wisdom casters, mainly druid and cleric in my opinion because of the stats, and the fact that it really does not do that much damage compared to the other weapons out there for melee classes.
I hate it when people post about items without considering the true use of the item. This blunt rocks if you are the person it was designed for, a wisdom caster. Consider that the most popular wis caster banger is the Dark Ember. 13/32 9 wis (some other stats but to simplify things just considering wis and ratio)... this item comes along which is 13+3/29 8 wis with nicer additional stats. Most wis casters who every solo a bit would give thier left nut for one of these.
Dark ember has only has 5 wis. The full stats are Damage: 13 Delay: 32 Str: +2 Wis: +5 Fire Resist: +7 HP: +20 Mana: +20
this gives a better ratio (2.230 vrs 2.461, not counting the flame damage), same str, 6 more each dex and sta, 3 cha, 15 more hp, 5 more mana, 3 more save fire, and above all, 3 more wis. Since the 200 wis cap was raised, 3 extra wis makes a VERY big difference now. Thats as much as +48 mana at level 60. All told, and very nice primary hand item for a wis caster.

(added the fire bonus) that is way slow for the lvl it is attainable at dont get me wrong I know that anyone in their right mind would have a haste item and all but I would never use this in any hand but offhand seeing as how off hand doesnt use delay it goes off using the skill of dual wield (please correct me if I am wrong)
correction. off hand does use delay. every time the secondary weapon delay cycles you make a dual wield check to see if you attack with yuour off hand. any good log parser will show you that the off hand weapon strikes in multiples of your secondary delay. So a lower delay weapon in your off hand makes more frequent dual wield checks, and will strik more often. What you do not get for your off hand is the damage bonus. So to calculate the best off hand weapon, just go be straight ratio. You dont have to weight the delay like in the main hand.
???? There's a reason for that. Take a closer look at the entry and notice none of the other stats are correct, nor the name. Thats because the picture doesnt belong to this entry!
