Duo with 1.0

This weap is deff ul there with our 1.0; wish I knew about this bad boy earlier; a real nice toy to have. My bard's 66 with a Rapier of Somber Notes and the Stave of the Mindless (or whatev its called) and this is a bit of an downgrade now. And sticking with snare/slow song is a manditory in soloing and some groups anyways. A nice toy regardless if I'm twisting 2 rune songs with a haste v2 and v3 or a hp regen. Though ive a bard on Lockjaw progression which could DEFINITELY use this when we make it up to Luclin; last thing I want to do is this PITA epic again (literally one of the worst , and hardest , for me to obtain so far).

Dropped this last night - only one bard at raid and he already had epic and tier 2(3?) bard drop so someone ran an alt bard to loot.

Still dropping?

Can anyone confirm if this drops still please, ive been camping it for 4-5months now and seen like 30+confirmed Va'Dyn with no toetwister at all. I know its somewhat of a rare drop but still, I wouldnt be surprised if sony took this out or just made the drop rate as rare as bracer of the hidden. If you had this drop recently let me know - thanks.

My guild took down the Va'Dyn on 3/4/2004 and it dropped the Toetwister.

Hope this helps.

I Like this thing, someone at SoE must have actually been awake when they made this particular bard item. Kudos to any pre epic bard and even post epic bard who weilds one.

-It's not low enough delay that its an aggro magnet and yet its not so slow as to make you call it the bard's wurmslower.

-It's got THE hardest stat to find on bard gear period, STAMINA! My Half Elf bard which I trained stamina in at creation and have spent AAs on stamina for still can barely top 100 stamina I can only imagine what it's like for those poor 65 starting stamina woodelves out there.

-It's got charisma too, I'm not holding some stupid beer mug when I'm grouped and playing traffic cop I'm holding weapons, another smart move.

-It's got a great ratio for the risk vs reward, was a pretty simple encounter IMO and this thing blows away my old 1 hander, bards need great ratio weaps to make up for double attack plus it's tasty under Provocation or 'chanter haste.

-Oh, the resists are also great although many times that I need the resists I'll have a drum out I can't go into every situation with a resist song memmed and going.

So maybe it was just by accident but having one to weild I have to say it's a great item and I didn't have to drop 6k for a bard only weapon when SK or pally only weapons in the bazaar go for 100p or so (/cough troubadar's mace /cough)

Good post.

Agree on many things. But if you don't care for race, make a vah shir or humna for more stamina. Else sta is easy to find. Battle-drummers main gauche is 5 sta and there is alot of others. Though not so common on bard-only items. Longsword of freedom from UP is 20/29 and one-groupable pretty much. It has a 13sta boost which is nice.

good weap

Just got this today while recruiting guild was going thro doing this guy and IV with two gruops - no bards on raid and i was only bard on (even tho a bard who was in the guild was on an alt i wasnt abotu to say anything lol) anyhow got it its good ratio - bit more dps but not much being a bard lol - anyhow the effect is nice BUT proccing weaps interupt casting - so twisting sometimes gets a bit off if u feel the urge to paly ur dex song for a rogue or such Smiley: boozing
RE: good weap
# Jun 22 2003 at 4:17 PM Rating: Decent
Proccing weapons make your casting bar go away but the song is still being cast.

1.333 ratio makes this a pretty nice weapon for a Bard pre-pop considering the relative ease of the encounter.
Mislabeled effect
# Feb 20 2003 at 7:01 AM Rating: Default
If theis weapons effect is tendon slice then why does it list the effect as memory flux??
RE: Mislabeled effect
# May 14 2003 at 7:30 AM Rating: Decent
It was changed some time back from mem blur to the snare. I suppose one or two ppl got ksed when the proc went off jsut before the mob say gated or such. Or someone was just assisting on teh kill to help out. Would suck for some rogue to come up trying to practice BS and your mem blur proc go off when he BS's it lol. Lost xp. All just speculation of course. I'm not sure if it would work that way or not. I have had the weapon since it was changed to Tendon slice which while isnt a GREAT effect but really helps when your in places like SolB at djarn and get bored with killing imps and forget to snare and one gets away from ya. lol...and you cant get the snare song off before he turns that corner into the mobs at the door.

You, sir, are an idiot.
RE: Changed the effect

From what I can tell the new effect Tendon Slice is a snare/detaunt.

Depending on what you're doing, it can be a good or bad thing that this does NOT overwite bard snare song (nor does it stack with them, not does it just overwrite the snare portion of the snare/slow bard songs). You jut get the message "Your spell did not take hold." I'm not sure if the detaunt still works or not, but I would guess so.

Also, this weapon does proc a lot, enough to be dependable as a snaring weapon, in my opinion.
Wow!.
# Apr 10 2002 at 6:36 PM Rating: Decent
I just got this nice weapon yesterday and I love it. The snare doesn't seem to last very long. I see the message your spell has worn off from time to time durring fights. It does have a very nice dmg dly ratio so I'm really happy with it.
RE: Wow!.
# Apr 19 2002 at 7:02 AM Rating: Default
It probably doesn't last long because somebody cast a better snare on the mob, such as a ranger or druid casting ensnare. It'll overwrite it and you'll get the spell has worn off message. Earthcall proc (ranger epic) wears off all the time when I'm in a group with a slower.

Random, not triggered
# Feb 07 2002 at 9:00 AM Rating: Default
It's not triggered, the proc is random. The duration is very variable, so don't depend on it for snaring.
Graphic ) ?
# Feb 06 2002 at 6:54 PM Rating: Default
So I'm guessing this looks like pliers or tongs, lol. I know it has the triggered snare but I think it would look cool, sort of like the shovel look some items have. ;)
RE: Graphic ) ?
# Feb 06 2002 at 10:21 PM Rating: Decent
Actually it's got a rather unique broadsword look.
