I'm only Lvl34 right now, but I solo in Dawnshroud Peaks. I've killed hundreds of Tribal hunters/gatherers. Hundreds more Zelniaks. And I've never once come across any of these jewels and other misc. items needed to complete these quests. Which zones has the best chance of droping these objects so I can get a full suit of this armor?
This tunic is nice but if AC is what your after without losing stats save a few plat or camp the Phase Spider Carapace dont know stats off the top but i know has 28 AC and atleast 5 plus to all stats some higher
Man its really sad... don't bother with this junk, i've hunted all the zones for the stuff for many many levels.. go farm up some plat and for heavens sake buy some acrylia leather, you'll honestly get more miles out of it and won't feel like you spent lots of time on a worthless quest
allright here's how it is if you want the most out of the class you must play both pet cleric and tank. personally i tank to keep skills up etc but since i am a relatively poor beastlord my ac is currently only 650 or so at lvl 42 so in order to lvl the fastest and most efficiently i will often play a pet cleric till the mob is fairly low on health or untill my pet gets too low on health for me to heal before it dies. because lets face it it takes about the same man to heal myself for 200 points of damage as it does to heal my pet for over 500. not only that but while your pet is fighting i'm medding making for almost continous lvling( i have to med about ever fourth haste or so). when i feel the need to raise skills i'll look for a group i mean ya it kills the xp a bit but since i hae all weapons under 20 delay my skillz go up like mad crazy. currently i have a 177 1hb | 175 h2h | 150 2hb | 69 piercing | which isn't bad since i'm traing four weapon skills (i only recently picked up piercing). while at lower lvls your mellee may be far worse then your pets however i stongly urge all young beastlords to keep it up because after double attack/ riposte aa's we turn into monks with out a kick (believe me i've seen it)
The great thing about a Beastlord is our versatility. We can solo extremely well. I am at lvl 47 and still soloing strong, and we can solo different ways- some people chose to play pet cleric, and heal the pet while it does all the work- some chose to fight with the pet. I read some of the posts in here and a few people have been saying that the thing we are good at is pet clericing, but I'd have to disagree. I believe Beastlords were made to fight with their pets. Why else would we be given such high mele caps. Why else is our epic a weapon and not a pet? Beacause we are meant to fight. Look at Mages- they are more than pet clerics..they let their pet tank, and they nuke. I compare us beasts to clerics in that we essentially do the same thing, only instead of nuking, we mele. /pet attack, slow, DoT, Listless power(at 49), ice spear and then in for the attack. If you or your pet get low on health, back off, heal, and go back in. When you can recast ice spear (its 150dd nuke but 30sec recast time and only 75 mana) back off cast it again, and go back in. Try playing pet cleric when you are lvl 48, or 38, or 29 etc, when you pet is light blue or green to you and all you need is that one level to get a new pet. You still have to fight dark blue mobs to get that level, and your light blue/green pet will have a hell of a time fighting em if all you do is heal it. You gotta help the little bugger out. Play your beast however you chose -- my personal opinion is that we were meant to fight with our pets-which is why we are unique, and not like mages, or necros. we have a pet and mele, not a pet and magic. Our magic isnt even that great anyway..its good if you couple it with meleing. Just my 2cp Granted, there are a couple time you may find pet clericing more useful- Ive soloed tough mobs by being a pet cleric if I had c3, I would just chain heal him, and DoT and DD the Mob till it was dead...but for the most part, I fight. You just need to use what works in the specific situation.
I agree with you all the way but for all those peoples that only been playing (pet-clerics), for some it maybe too late to go back to (mele. /pet attack) cause they'er attack and defence would be so low it would be hell for them to get it back up. For them to understand why (mele. /pet attack) is so nice they'll have to keep they're skills up to level, just throwing some AC gear and weapons on wouldn't help.

I have a 47 Bst on Morrel thule and as it is now, there is no way i can solo a mob face to face, we end up playing "pet cleric" ...however we can solo all day this way. So this tunic is ultimately better than the treeweave b/c of the wis add alone.. Extra mana means longer pet life, and because when your pet dies you have to zone...go for the extra wisdom.
The ratio for ac is 1 ac per unit gives 3 ac to character. So a 15 ac will provide 45 ac on your character. A 25ac item , treeweave, provides 75ac. Thats an extra 30ac. Now sacrifice the extra 10 str for an extra 5 wis, and you wonder why your a pet cleric? I am a 40 BL with descent armor, with my 49 paladin buffs, my AC goes to 930 atm. I can tank low blues.
hehe guy said this is better then planner better go look at the planner tunic again lets see ac 16 on planner 5wis 5 str 5 agi ans saves also adds 50 hp and 90 mana not to mention bramble caot effect adds another 19 ac hmm planner seems a bit better to me but this is nice stuff for the lvl to obtain
This gear is very VERY nice for the level and you can get it, along with a boatload of exp in mid 30's to mid 40's, maybe higher. I really cant stand the people who whine about it, ask anyone 50+ and they will tell you its great for the lvl. ask anyone below 30 and they will tell you it sucks and aint worth the time. Go figure.
I don't think your awake yet my good man... Treeweave way better (AC wise, which is all my Beastie is interested in for chest item) and easyier to obtain than this junky tunic... STATS ARE NICE BUT WITH LOW AC THEY WON'T STOP THE INEVITABLE..
Just my opinion in all my time as Beastlord.
Harkoes Battlesmasher Beast of the Strange Brew. Druzzil Ro.
Well we monks are used to low AC items.. the biggest chest piece item in game for Monks is wha? A whopping 25AC (without going to Dragon Nec. to get the Ancient Wyvern Tunic, which is 40AC, and near impossible without either a VERY WELL planned pick-up raid, or an uber guild)!! And for a beastlord? ... .. .. Damn, ok, so we have pretty much the same AC equip, but then again, BST are supposed to carry the same AC advantages as monks (without the weight limit) right? (or so I've heard) So if I were a Beastlord (which I have one made up), I would skip the Tree Weave, and get a Crystal Chitin Chestguard! (AC: +25 Agi: +7 Wis: +10 Cha: +7 Mana: +10 Weight: 15.0 ) Even tho it's more expensive, you get some better stats other than just +10 str.
Sorry for all the ()'s, I got a little carried away. hehe
ok.. While the CCC is nice, i'd hardly call it an easily attainable item. It's more expensive than the kunark class specific BPs even. Sure, if you can find/afford one, get it; but don't expect to find one easily..i've seen one, that's one Crystal Chitin Chestguard in 2 years of playing. That's a rare item.
I've had a Sleek Sonic Wolfhide Jerkin on my beast from 40-55. It's the result of this quest Broker Fahaar's Tailoring Quest Nice item, but I'm definitely working on an upgrade, now!
