My 23 Ikky bst just got one tonight (3/20). With all the high level players looking for the excavator claws for the scavenger hunt, I was able to walk right to the stables without running into a single mob. Any low level players who want this, I suggest going while the scavenger hunt is still on, it's so easy to get down there!!

as per last night, Feb 21, the club dropped in Kurns Tower. took me 3 hours and 3 Undead Jesters/7 thick boned skellies/some twenty skellies. you can actually see, when he holds the Club instead of some FS 2H weapon

also, the spawn info/guide here is correct.

good luck Smiley: smile

PS: fantastic weapon for low levels, with the proc and the low delay.

Was given this today by a friendly Iksar and I love it. But, it seems the effect is "random" - anyone know what triggers the effect??

It is a combat process, so it randomly goes off during combat. Conventional thought is that higher dexterity causes a weapon to "proc" more. Also, being hasted so you swing more helps. Note the proc can go off even if you miss the target. I have killed more than one mob with a proc from a missed swing.

Procs are figured on a # per minute/hour basis. Haste does NOT affect it at all. That's why, with the Earthshaker + Rampage guys went to kill all those mobs, they got slows, because it made each hit more likely to proc (but remember that when you get slow, you hit less often, so that doesn't affect procs when you're attacking one mob at a time).

Procs are figured solely by the weapon and your dex. I think there might be a way to increase it with an proc mod effect, but I can't recall what it is.

I can confirm this club drops.
I killed the jester Friday night - no club. I camped right there and went to sleep.
Next time I jumped on I was being attacked by the jester. I killed him - bingo he had the club.
Total camp time 10 minutes. Jesters killed - 2.
My level 11 cleric very happy.

I've been camping the jester for about 10 hours and have killed him maybe 5 times, all of which he only had the fine 2 hander. I also started to think maybe he wasn't dropping the club anymore until i logged in and someone was there at the camp and said he just walked in a couple hours ago to the jester with the club...he got it and gave it to a noob...argh!

Jester Spawn Info

4 posts
Ok, I made this post way back when but now I can't find it so I wanted to re-post the info so that way it would be at the top.

There is a lot of misinformation and speculation on how to acquire the club, but I will give you the 100% sure-fire way on how to hunt for the Undead Jester.

First of all, I would like to say I have spent many, many, many hours in Kurn's, and know every little corner of that tower. I have hunted every mob in the place and killed them all repeatedly. I have acquired many Berserker Clubs, enough to equip and to make a tidy profit (back when the club was the bling-bling).
Anyway, here's the scoop:

First, please refer to the Kurn's Tower map here:

  • This map claims that the Jester spawns at location marked 1. This is incorrect (but close).

The Jester is a walker. He will never pop as a stationary spawn. He will never pop inside one of the rooms in the "Stable".

    Jester placeholders:

Since the Jester is a walker, you need to kill all the other walkers in a specific area. This area is the L-shaped hallway that runs through both of the Stable areas.

To be exact, look at the map and locate number 3. The Jester route begins just northwest of number 3, right before you enter the first Stable area. He then walks north (past #2), makes a left turn where the hallway turns west, then walks to the end of the hallway, turns around, and walks back.

The very best spot to camp the Jester is just north of #2, in the corner, facing southwest so you can see both ends of the hallway. While you wait there, eliminate any walking mob that comes into your corner. You can safely ignore any mob that walks in and out of any of the Stable rooms. The Jester placeholders are only those mobs that walk the entire length of the L-shaped hallway.

The picture of the Undead Jester in the Bestiary ( http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=4974) was sent in by me. If you look closely, you can see that I am in that corner, facing southwest, and I am fighting the Jester that has aggroed on me.

Most placeholders will be regular skels or burynai, but sometimes you will see the Burynai Forager or other named skels. Some drop loot, some drop quest items, and most drop Fine Steel.

Nothing you do will have any impact on popping the Jester besides clearing the walking mobs in the corner of the L-shaped hallway in the middle of the Stables.

Most Jester pops do not result in the club, but will instead annoy you with Fine Steel. Have patience, keep clearing the walkers, and you will get one eventually.

I wish all the best of luck, and hope my information helped.

All of a sudden this jester comes up and starts swinging at me so we kill him in like 10 seconds and I loot an IBC and was like hey look at this. Then 25 min later he came back and my son got one to. I said hey this might be worth something. He said I'm gonna try to sell it for 5k. ROFL! We both had a good laugh over that one.

Ok heres my story, I camped Jester Sunday June 1st. Started at 8am and finished at 5pm. I killed everything in stables. Got the Cook to spawn twice, both times with no Shield. Burnyai Forager once. Finally on the 9th hour of camp, Jester spawns with club in hand. I took him out quickly. My advice to anyone who wants this club, have lots of patience, Kill everything in the stables. On the Cook's side of Stables, the only thing i killed was in Cook's room. I'll break down the spawns and their locations. Starting with the 6 rooms adjacent from the Cook's side. There are 2 spawns that roam here. Usually undead. This is said to be the Forager's Placeholders. I beg to differ. When the Forager spawned, he came down the hall that has the room with the hole in the wall that leads to Bargynn. Ok, once you make the left and turn the corner. There are 6 more rooms, (including the room with the hole in the back wall). I'll number the rooms for ya from left to right. Room #1 (Hole Room/First room on left) has to spawns inside, usually Burnyai, and 1 roams across the hall to Room 6 (First room on right). Room 2-6 has 1 spawn, always a Undead. The hallway outside of the 6 rooms have 2 spawns that roam as soon as they spawn. These 2 are what I believe to be are Placeholders for Forager and Jester. I believe that when its time for a Rare to spawn from these 2 Placeholders, you'll get either Forager or Jester. Thats just my guess. Anyway thats my story. Good luck and have lots of Patience when camping the IBC.

Late last Saturday night, a guy in the bazaar was selling this for 300 plat. I sent a /tell to him saying I wanted to buy the piece, but only had 258 plat (which at the time, was true). Well, I was pretty lucky because he accepted, I got the IBC for a ridiculously low price, and my cleric has a good replacement for his Centi Warhammer. By the way, I've been monitoring the price of this piece ever since, and have never seen it for less than 1100 plat (on the Seventh Hammer server). Looks wicked equipped, with a spike in the front and the back. My cleric was ecstatic)IMHO, this weapon is better than the Centi Warhammer because: Faster delay, better wisdom, good proc.

So I guess I'm in for a long camp here - at least there's still a lot of dark blues =) Maybe I'll get lucky and find some Burynai Hide gear for minor upgrades.

I can't be certain, but I'm guessing that since the proc on this weapon grants a strength bonus, that your Strength of Earth spell is conflicting with it. Try leaving that off next time and see what happens.
#Zaztik, Posted: Jul 09 2002 at 9:08 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It means the proc that's suppose to help you, doesn't take effect, because you already have better buffs then the proc, and the proc will not stack with them.

For all the strategies I've seen, the only one which works, is patience.

I once camped this for 4-5 nights in a row, 7-10 hours a night, and never saw the club. Saw the jester a couple of times, but not the club.

Came back after not playing for 6 months, and started camping again. Spent one night, 5 hours, saw the jester once, no club. Started again tonight, saw the jester within a couple of hours, and got the club! Woohoo for me!

Asside from patience, the strategy used was to sit at 194,51 watching down both hallways at the same time. Some say this can't be done, but if sit in the corner, and change cameras (F9), I found the first person perspective to change, allowing you to see down both hallways. Its nice to be able to do this, as the jester spawns in either of the two hallways. He does wonder around a bit, but not over the whole zone... just up and down the hallways.

Various beasties spawn along these hallways... I believe the jester spawns _in_ a hallway, not in a room, so keeping the rooms clear isn't necessary. Just kill anything you see wondering around. The placeholding spawns can wander into rooms, so if you see more than one beast in a room, kill'em both, as one was most likely a place holder.

The spawns are about 10-15 minutes, sometimes no spawn, with the timer possibly restarting when the Jester's actual place holder is killed.

Actually, this whole post is wrong. The Jester does spawn in a room (the one with the hole in the wall) and the placeholders are the roaming mobs and the cook/thick/fingered skeles. Kill these mobs repetedly until the Jester appears.

Can someone kindly explain the value of this weapon? I'm currently comparing it to a Centi Warhammer and I am interested as to why it sells for twice as much as the CWH.

    IBC = 7/18, ratio = 2.571, +4 STR, +4 WIS, -2 INT and fleeting fury.

    vs.

    CENTI WARHAMMER = 15/32, ratio = 2.133, +5 STA, +5 STR, +2 WIS

I can't see why a CWH sell for 500pp and the IBC can sell for 1k+? I know it's a rare camp/drop for the IBC but the stats just arne't as good.

    Your input is appreciated!

main things are it's speed, and the buffs.. the reason it's more than a centi wh for sure tho is the centi is much more common. take a look at how often ppl post asking if this still drops. that's how rare it is, folks will spend a week or more looking for the jester with the club, and then when they don't see one, they post here asking if it's not dropped anymore!

the value of the club is determined by its increase to wis, higher up casters care less for dmg value then they do for their magic stats.

the jester does not "just pop" in fact this is one of the great EQ Nightmare camps i know people who have spent Days of playtime only to have the jester pop a couple of times without the club.
so if you want this be prepared to wait a while.

A guildie wanted this so he could raise his 1HB,and i was really bored so i said what the hell.We both traveled to FOB,and made our way down to the spawn area.Since I've read all the horror stories about this camp,i figured it would take forever. We were just killing skeles for fun when one with a club starting beating on me,it took me a second to recognize it as the jester.I killed him pretty quick(39 Druid) and let my friend have the loot.Total camping time, about 10 minutes.I'm still amazed how lucky we are,and i wish others the same.Good luck :)

And one of the quests is to get that item, and when I get that item, I get to keep it, and I get 20k! Hell, I'll share it with you if you can damn give me enough info on the little bastard. I tried and I tried... But this is me last resort, and it BETTER work! (By the way, I dont just get 20k and the club, I get my epic!!!)So, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE helpy me! <::::::::::::::::)===D This sword will be going up that jesters butt! Woo Hoo after 50+ Hours over 2 weeks and 6 jester spawns I got my Club.
Few things I learned keep the stable area cleared.

Got Jester to spawn in about 3 hours of keeping the stables area clear 3 nights in a roll. Last time he had the club.

Before this I spent 8 days 5hours a night in tower just killing wonders cook and finger and leaving the rooms alone Only saw him twice durring this time:(

    Hope this helps.

I camped this thing back when it's price was closer to 10k on my server. Took me a week, average about 4 hours a night and 10+ hours on a sunday. Some one stated below:
    QUOTE:
To get Jester to Spawn, Kill the Wandering mob wo spawns in the hallway. - False

This is not false. The jester spawned 3 times for me and every time the spawn was the same. He pops in front of the room that has the hole that drops you to level 3. He wanders the hall. I have killed him by placing my 31st warrior (with seriously bad equip at the time) in the corner of the hall and leaving the computer. The jester spawns and aggros my warrior and gets riposted to death. That is how I camped for my club which I still have and will never sell just on principle :)

It depends, if you are a warrior than yes! if you are a monk however get a wu stick cuz the 8 pounds will kill you, unless you are some crazy monk weighing like oprah winfrey

8 pounds isn't too bad i'm a lvl 50 monk with a T-staff which is 10 wt. and i'm usually 1 stone over weight which only result in an ac loss of about 5

Im tring to find out if these fall into the trivial loot catagory and if they do can a 35 war and a 35 cler still get them off of the undead jester? Maybe we will have better luck if we aren't grouped? Haven't tried either way. I hope someone knows.

35 war or clr could mangle the jester easily, its only lvl 20. kunark has never ever had trivial loot in effect. it only exists at all any more on the FV server.

OK, the other night, i bought an IBC for 500pp. I thought it was pretty good, the stats, the speed, and it had a prok. What does the prok do?
Please, the guy who sold it said it would do STR, DEX, STA and a little bit of haste. Is this all true?

If you want to know about this spell... look up the Shaman spell with the same name. This is a VERY low level spell. It doesn;t help much... it's basically Low level Alt material at best. The proc only lasts for 18 sec. If I'm not mistaken, it raises AC, STR and Dex by 5

For all of you camping the Jester, let me tell you that (are you listening?) THERE IS NO "SECRET TRICK" TO GET HIM TO SPAWN. He spawned for me at: pos 184.17, pos 208.71, neg 38.22. You jsut have to kill everything within the 2 hallways(the ones with 3 rooms on either side) untill he does appear. It was about a 12 hour camp. He is a RARE spawn and you need time and patience to camp this mob. If you don't have either of those then do not try. As for Turn's post concerning the price listed, keep in mind that a) this item has not been updated for quite some time, and b)It is simply the BOOK price. When this item was first put on this site, 6k was a good price. The average price is around 2k on Brell. Hope this helps out.

6K is a joke, lucky to get 1k for this club, not rare at all if you hunt KC, but you lowbies will have to wait till you can hehe. Seen in NFP for 1k wouldnt waste more on it, EXPECIALY for a Monk, HAHAHA 6k for this heavy club when u can buy trance stick for 4k?? =p other than that, this is a great club, use on my monk some with damage bonus of 7, its a 14 18 weapon and with CoF or FBSS you will hit alot) nice to farm...err solo with) in a group its not bad, but rather have more damage.

I have been here so long I know how many bricks are in the tower. Still no jester. I noticed that the picture of this item says that it usable by Paladins but the Allakhazam description says it is not.

Can anyone confirm whether or not paladins can use this? Maybe if I bring my paladin here (a major undertaking for a dwarf paladin on a pvp team server) he will have more luck. Of course, this will do my ranger no good since he is not on the same server. But, at least I could say I got an IBC.

The IBC would be a formidable PVP weapon anyway, especially against casters. Along with bash it would be very difficult for them to get spells off at all.

Arrrrgh. Ugh. Doh. Weeeeraawrroooarg!Oh Tunare please please help me. I didnt want to go here again. I camped the damn Jester for about 50 hours of game time. I killed hundreds of badgers and bones. I displayed monumental patience. I foraged 2 backpacks worth of food. I looted almost all the badger armor. Oh Tunare why do you curse me so? This item is like a tortuous demon of the mind. Yeah, I want one. But I had to leave after 50 hours, no exp, the littering of the floor of much fine copper and silver, and 473 cups of coffee. Plus I stuck a pencil in my eye and ate a can of salt. Now I read these posts and what does the stoopid ranger want to do? GO BACK! Camp the jester. Da da de da dum da de da. It is the fault of all who post here. I must have this item. You have inspired (cursed) me to go back. Besides, it's too late now. I've spent too much time already. I will now camp this until the end of time. Perhaps I will become the Jester. Yes, Yes. Judd the Undead Jester. If you see him give him some salt and a pencil.

don't know why people waste their time on this item. well maybe i can understand lower lvls (25ish i suppose) but lvl 40+'s who come to camp it..wtf.. this thing isn't THAT great. Friend has one on Xev and can't even sell it for 1k, noone really wants it..either that or my server is full of a bunch of cheap arses =P (btw solist icy wand isnt that great either..BARELY sells for 2k on my server, normally 1k =\) Point of this post..if your a lower lvl 25+ or whatever knock yourself out hope ya nail the bastard, 40+..get some friends, go to guk, gain lots of exp, get a fbss, froggy crown, tbb and all the other crap that drops there =P

I was fighting a badger at loc 187,257 just when the jester popped in! Woot! Anyway, I spent about 8-10 hours camping this (off and on over a few days). My strategy has been to kill everything (skels and badgers) in ALL the stalls and the room just to the south of the above cited location (usually has a few mobs in it).
