I'm guilded with another necro who has over 4K AA. Here's their stats from the last time leaderboards updated. (And we know how current that is.)

Mana - 33,119 Hps - 32,923 AC - 4,041 Level - 85 AA - 3,933

That's RAW. Thate's about what I have with every raid buff on. I'm sitting a smidge close to 2K AA at the moment.

What does that have to do with anything? Not much, except that we've been around for a while. Me, since '01 - off and on.

What do we have in main hand? Epic. What does every 85 necro have in main hand? Probably epic. I'm gonna say - Epic. Yeah. Epic.

But, I don't understand, Bonesmasher! This weapon is teh awsum! No. No - it's not.

Epic 1.5 increases chance to DoT crit by 4 percent. Epic 2.0, (me) 8 percent. 2.5 - 12 percent.

Latest and greatest I get for a Exigency of blood proc + 3rd spire (without a glyph, and I heard those are even more insane) is around 22K, otherwise it's like 10 - 11 K on a "regular" crit. I haven't looked at the proc rate on this thing, and I doubt I will. It'd have to have a proc rate of 8 percent to proc 10-20K extra damage a tick, or something. Which it does not have.

Here's what a normal "tick" of damage might look like for me, once i get wound up.

~ 97 percent of the time, a grouping Necro is going to casting a DoT.
95 percent of the time, a raider is. (Doing more trash clears + hoping for an Exingency proc on the Boss mob.) Sympathetic yadda yadda ain't worth a hill of beans. It'd be a great farming weapon or something, maybe. I have a farming weapon, and still just keep epic in main hand. I guess this is something cool to stick in your bag, maybe. Maybe something to pump your stats for leaderboards or something. For replacing your epic?

Necro's won't replace their epic until some other mainhand - not 2hb, cuz yuo lose your shield ac etc. - has as good or better focus.

Giving it some serious thought, I imagine this might be good for a single player grouper who can't scare up enough friends by level 85 to help get them their epic, but can find enough pick up groups to get some tokens. That's about the only reason I can see why someone would be using this, full time.

If you two box - you can get your epic. I ran a guy through his epic in less than a week. I'm sure it was less boring than farming tokens. But I'd be BEGGING people to join me in a group to bust out some tokens if there was a weapon there better than epic 1.5. You could probably offer 200K and get someone to help you get your epic over a week. Heck, offer 20K per kill. You can make 10K a day farming just the Hole or DSH farm. Someone will bite, I'm sure. I'd spend an hour (or less) to kill one named and get 20 K for my effort. I'm sure a lot of people would.
