For the life of me I can't get this illusion to toggle to flying mode, even when the buff says its flying... I always have the model of the walking dragon *sigh*

On the LoN site on this card it says "limited flight", could someone who has used this: confirm/deny - describe this please?

This item's behaviour has been fixed since it was first released, and now works more reliably/consistently.

As mentioned in my previous posts on July 10-11 2009, there were a few issues with the implementation of this item originally. The patch on August 12 2009 corrected them. There may have been an additional minor update also in some a patch on August 19 2009 that was not mentioned in the patch notes.

According to the 2009-08-12 patch notes:

- The Aspect of the Brood item should now work more consistently.

Here is my experience:

The item is now an instant-cast clicky. When you first click the item and have no illusion on, you receive the following buff: Illusion Flying Dragon . While you have this buff on, if you click the item again, the buff is immediately removed and then replaced with a different one: Illusion Walking Dragon . While you're in walking dragon illusion, if you click the item once more, the illusion is immediately removed and then replaced with the first flying dragon illusion. This allows you to toggle between then. You can see your character momentarily reverting to its original form between clicks of this item, with a brief flicker.

The old behaviour was that while you were under "Illusion Flying Dragon" your character's flying position simply toggled from flying to not-flying, when you right-clicked the item. The illusion buff would not disappear between clicks, and would still be called "Illusion Flying Dragon" in both cases. "Illusion Walking Dragon" did not exist before the 2009-08-12 patch.

With this change, an enchanter can now project both the walking and flying illusions, and can do so while under the illusion. Simply be under the *other* illusion, and then click Project Illusion AA followed by clicking the item while the person in your group is targetted, and they will receive the opposite stance illusion from the one you're in. If you're not in dragon illusion, then the other person will receive the Flying dragon illusion.

The problem with people who have the ability to keep illusions while zoning (enchanters, rogues, bards, with the appropriate AAs) also seem to be fixed. You no longer become a massive dragon when you zone with the illusion on. Instead your size appears to remain the same when you zone / camp-log-back-in with the illusion on.

So it seems like the bugs have been mostly ironed out. At the time of this post, there is some other size-related bug involving illusions that is being worked on. It may be fixed the next patch.

Is it clickable inside?

Incredible, I know, but I just got one in my five "free" packs for this month. Of course, the card is "locked" so I can't trade it. Oh well ...

There are two modes of operation of this clicky (Aspect of the Brood). One is the "standard" mode, and the other is "flying" mode. When you cast the illusion, you start in "standard" mode, where you are running around on all fours on the ground. While in illusion, if you click it again, you go into "flight" mode where you are hovering. Clicking the item again while in flight mode returns to standard mode.

As an enchanter, you can only Project Illusion this clicky while you are not currently under this illusion, because otherwise the item click is interpreted as a switch betweeen standard and flying mode.

You need sufficient "clearance" to cast the clicky on you or someone else. If you are in an enclosed area or with many objects around you, you will find that the "spell did not take hold" message will appear. Go out to a more open area.

There appears to be an unusual issue currently. If you are a class that can keep illusions through zoning, then when you appear in the next zone, you are VERY VERY large, on your own screen. Others still see you as the normal size. Being large on your screen means you cannot maneuver around in an enclosed area. For example: cast illusion in Guild Lobby, then zone to Guild Hall or to Plane of Knowledge, and you will be very very large (on your screen only).
