Knowing the fact the OOT ac is lvl 45, a lvl 45 probly couldn't solo it right? Should i just wait till 49 to take it down? I want my jboots!!!!
Not always 45

I just killed the oot AC at level 45, and he was blue. He didn't resist much, nor did he hit very hard on the two rounds of combat he got off his one effective resist. Some of the regular clopses get lucky on resists, though, and I once had to gate out from two high-resist PHs in a row.

Ok well, too much debate about how to make the AC spawn so I went and studied it a bit. Check out the page I put up in relations to this and enjoy your new JBoots.

watch out for the vendors in SRO!!!
# Jul 27 2001 at 10:19 AM Rating: Decent
No one seems to have adressed this anywhere so I feel I should. If you are hunting for the AC in sro, make sure to keep it away from the dark elf vendors. I was recently hunting for him in sro and he spawned, the zone was empty but he was attacking something..... I don't know who aggroed who, I think the AC may have aggroed the vendor because none of the other vendors where attacking it.... anyways, those vendors hit hard. I diddn't even have a chance. The vendor outdamaged me and the AC poofed. As I am pretty sure that the AC aggroed the vendor, just make sure he sees you before he sees a vendor. If he attacks a vendor first, you have to either keep the vendor feared or otherwise detained to keep it from outdamaging you or you have to kill the vendor yourself before the AC dies. I was very frusturated seeing as I have never heard of this happening before. Someone told me that due to the pathing on the AC, it used to ALWAYS happen. Apparently it still does sometimes. Be careful.

I just had this done to me in SRO, got there and killed all rare named spawns and all packs on one type of mob. Less than 45 min later I check track and WOOT, AC in less then 1 hour. I am only one in zone so not too worried about someone KSing me. Track his big butt and he is about 3/4 way dead and like you posted the DE artist KSed me and after he yelled NO not my ring he poofed. VERY TICKED OFF.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 31 2001 at 1:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The AC is a very rare spawn in this zone. He dropped on a wizzy friend of mine LOL and a few seconds later he had the ring. dosen't happen often but it does happen.

I tried using a fire based dmg nuke several times and he resisted everyone, but when i switched to cold based he took full dmg. Also he rooted on the first try and stayed rooted for the whole fight.

Seems to be about as resistant as a normal SG, in sro. Have yet to kill the OOT spawn though. I'd imagine it's about as resistant as a normal clops there. If you can take out a SG, the AC in sro will be cake. If you plan on going to OOT, the AC there is level 45. Decently higher level than the clopses that can spawn in it's place. If you can barely kill a clops, you'll prolly need a little help with the AC. I don't KNOW this, seeing as I have yet to kill the OOT AC spawn. It may be weak for it's level.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2001 at 8:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Was selling some crap to the inkie merchants whilst waiting for a Hate raid to start when it pops on my head and starts hitting me. A couple of mins later I have a brand new Ring of Ancients that I am gonna chain on for plat, plat and more plat (already have the booties ya see).

Explain to me how you are going to sell a NO DROP item. Im just curious.
RE: Well lucky ol' me

It's rather simple really. He probably plans to go to SRo or OOT and shout that he has a ring. There are other characters there who need this ring for the Journeyman Boot quest. He will travel with them to give the items to the Gnome who gives out JBoots. He will hand off the ring, they will hand in the money and rapier and get the boots. Then they will give him a ton of cash for handing this in for them, thus saving them the trouble of camping this fairly rare, and very over-camped, spawn. cf Multiquesting.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 25 2001 at 5:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have been hunting for about 2 weeks in a row in SK and I have seen the AC about 5 times, seems to roll though KFC (seen it there 4 times)
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 31 2001 at 8:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Just gated and camped out of EK because an AC found my pet's resting place. I was bound just inside the gorge leading into HHP, and the pet was guarding a patch of land a few yards down the path at the mouth of the canyon, just within earshot.
RE: Yes, Cyclopses in EK
# Apr 09 2001 at 9:00 AM Rating: Default
The cyclops that jumped your pet was Broon, and he is only lvl 23. Broon spawns in the gorge next to the ramp to HHP. Then he walks across the zone to stand in the river by the Druid stones. Come back and solo him after you get your lvl 24 earth pet! He has a 6 minute spawn time, and gives good xp to lvl 28. The hardest part is killing him in the river and getting across the zone to med before he spawns again. Ask a druid to sow you and your pet! The loot is not great (few gp to 2pp max and occasional cyclops toes), but the xp is excellent! The AC is a whole different ball game.

Broon is pretty pathetic, imo, at lvl 19 me, a cleric, and a 19 barb rogue slaughtered him. great xp, decent loot (although WW giants are better, warsliks woods guys, not western wastes). Go at lvl 20 as a druid and bring a ranger and you 2 will slaughter him. He's also got to be the dumbest of the dumb cause he talks about Droon i think killing you but you never see this guy unless you hunt around. GL on your EQ slaughtering fun.
RE: Yes, Cyclopses in EK

I was hunting the druids in EK a few weeks back, and we did see all three of the cyclops guys, in order, around there.

First we started off killing broon. Then a little bit later droon found us- I think they are farily similar in pathing and such. After droon was the father that he talks about (forget the name) which was a decent fight for 3 of us between 25 and 28.

As far as I could tell killing one spawned the next, and after the third it went back to broon.

Proon is papa, quite sad when you kill him.. I'm coming to see you now Broon, you don't have to cry anymore! (not exact)

East Karana?
# Mar 28 2001 at 9:50 AM Rating: Decent
Maybe, but if so, it's absurdly rare. I hunt EK a LOT for various trade supplies and have never seen it once. Normal cyclops do appear there tho, so I suppose it is possible the ancients do once in a long while.

I was hunting Reavers in EK with a lvl 20 warrior and I saw the Ancient Cyclops there..have humted there a lot with various characters and only saw it that one time so yes it has to be extremely rare there
