We have all established Jenny by tommy two-tone

why is item lore try your imagination?

check verse 2!

Quote:
Jenny Jenny who can I turn to,
you gimmie something that I can hold on to,
I know you think that I'm like the others before,
I saw your name and number on the wall.

(Chorus)
Jenny I've got your number,
I need to make you mine,
Jenny don't change your number:
867-5309 (867-5309)
867-5309 (867-5309)

Jenny Jenny your the girl for me,
you don't know me but you make me so happy,
I tried to call you before but I lost my nerve,
I tried my imagination but I was disturbed

(Chorus)

I got it, I got it, I've got your number on the wall
I got it, I got it, for a good time, good a good time call...

**Guitar solo**

(Chorus Al Coda)
Hey! Jenny don't change your number,
I need to make you mine,
Jenny I call your number:
867-5309 (867-5309)
867-5309 (867-5309)

Jenny Jenny! Who can I turn too?
(867-5309)
For the price of a dime I can always turn to you...
(867-5309)
867-5309
(867-5309)
867-5309
(867-5309)
I got the 309! (867-5309)...

Thats a real phone number where I live. In the music video it was actually a prison number. But we would prank call it sometimes just to show peeps it was a real number. Now the owner has a recording with the song on it instead of a normal answering machine message.

About half the previous posts are commenting on this same thing, so yes, I think we noticed :)

Note that they not only name the song, but point out that the singer's name is worked into the item name as well.

I agree this is a very nice item for you. One thing you need to start doing is look for items with Wis AND Mana. After you get to the 255 cap the mana/wis point is less then before the cap.

Prior to the 255 mark mana is about 10mana/wis point. So giving up 1 point of wis and getting +10 mana would even out. (I have not looked at these numbers in a while.) That is what I remember and used for evaluating stats and replacements.

Good luck and be patient.

Me, I am a cleric. I prefer wisdom stats over mana, because wisdom increases mana and the wisdom stat, unlike mana which just increases mana. I rely on wisdom much more than mana because I am level 56, and I dont have my 255 wisdom maxed out yet, and with AA's it can go up to 355, which is hard to get. This is a great source of wisdom for the chest. In fact, it is tied with the number one chest slot for cleric's. Just my opinion. Smiley: smile

I'm afraid I have to disagree. I stopped looking for high wisdom gear after around level 50, because with KEI it maxes out wis. Even w/o KEI, i had over 200 wisdom, and if you've ever taken a look at what wisdom adds, after 200 wisdom the amount of mana it adds per wisdom is halfed. I aimed for 200 wisdom unbuffed, and have had almost no mana problems. If your guild is at the level where you are fighting Grieg, I see no reason why the 30 wisdom would become the deciding factor for why a cleric should win. This BP is useful for any of the stated classes, but I (personally) would let it go to a paladin, as they make more use of the stats.

Why do you feel the need to flame her for her opinions? Frankly, her gear looks like most UNTWINKED level 56s I've seen lately. Does it make you feel "Uber" to make fun of her gear?

BTW, if your Allakhazam profile is correct, you really shouldn't be insulting other people's gear, because yours isn't particularly impressive for a level 65.

And, for her situation, she is correct for the most part. Wis > mana until wis is capped, then Mana becomes better.

This item normally goes to Paladins when we kill this mobs... we've only seen 3 BPs drop after about 15 kills (I've only seen 2 on 12 kills presonally) and the BP goes to a pally every time... The melee stats and the large amount of raw wis make it better overall for a Pally, as they are the ones more lacking on wis generally. Our clerics generally wait for something like the Breastplate of Integrity
with better mana and resists.

I myself wear the LDoN BP, and ornate makes this obsolete also, so the only real use for it is to give the pallies in the lower ranks (sub 60) a chance to catch up on their wis substancially.

I can see that this bp is useful to a pally, but unfortunately I cannot agree with Breastplate of Integrity being better then this one, not even on clerics.

Clerics could have just as much use of this bp as a pally - ask any cleric who got this :)

My guild took down Grieg 2.0 last week or week before, Dropped the Bp, the Ulak, and the boots of stability. Cleric got the BP, Grieg is actually a very easy raid to do if everyone can get theyre MR and FR above 300 (including Bard resists) and is 60+. The biggest pain with him is his gravel rain AE, knocks you around like crazy!

Many guilds dont bother with this encounter since they dont feel the reward is worth the risk.
Grieg is in no way a cake walk, but if you know how to keep your healers safe from his AE, he can be taken out, and I am a very happy Cleric right now.

To take it even a little further. The rest of the numbers are all 5's. The reason that Hollywood had to start using 555-5555 as every phone number was a result of this song. The rest of the stats add up to that phone number

# Oct 01 2002 at 7:07 AM Rating: Decent
Saw this item last night on a high elf cleric (possibly paladin? Forgot about if I saw epic, was too busy gawking at BP) named Yanila on Vallon Zek. She said it took a large group of level 60's to take down Grieg. OMG..that thing is amazing. Looks like a shiny silver plate with old character models on. From what Yanila said there are only 2 reported players wearing Jenniy's on Vallon Zek. My cleric alt is already drooling, and after seeing it was a confirmed item I am determined to get ahold of that thing someday. Wish me luck. If I ever raid Grieg's I will let you know if I succeeded. Yanila said the BP dropped on first kill. Coincidence? Or maybe just a very difficult item to get because of mob difficulty? :)

#PrinceBytorr, Posted: Sep 11 2002 at 11:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Effective weight is only 12 anyways. BFHD. you should have 255 str BEFORE you put this on at the level it taked to kill grieg.

should have 255str before you put this on? not necessarily. but you should have enough low weight equipment that the 20wt wont encumber you too much. as for even HE pali, they should have adequate enough str to handle this anyway.

Simple, if you are in a guild that kills greig (we're about a month away, kill vindi, gozz, ikitar, zland, RC, Doom etc.) then you

1) have SS or better gear and
2) always have Focus on raids, hence most melee have max or very close to max str dex and agi (SoV maxes agi for sure).

Of course the item's appearence is completely irrelivant, I'm curious none the less. Can anybody shed some light?

i wouldnt call this the "BEST" BP, sure its nice, but if your ABLE to get this BP, you prolly have HIGH wis anyway, over 200 for sure, remember on most raids you will have koadics so your wis will be high, better BP imho is Crazy Cleric BP, same ac, 15wis, saves, but +90mana

mana is the stat of all stats for casters, overall mana pool > all other stats in importance, yes you need AC/saves/wis(or int) but +mana all the wAYYYYY!

nevertheless i'd prolly where this just so i wouldnt look the same as every other purple/hot-pink cleric out there =/

Give up 15 wis for 40 mana? If you are really in to +mana and resist items, then this BP would be awesome for you... +30 wis lets you replace other wis items for resist or mana/hp/ac gear. The end justifies the means in this case.

Most of us won't EVER even come close to seeing this mob in our game lives, let alone kill it and get the bp. Therefore, stop arguing and bitching about a BP that is all but fictional to you, concentrate on something more worth while. Think of it this way, the chances of you getting this BP in an UBER guild....slim to none. The chances of you getting this BP and not in an UBER guild...NO WAY IN HELL. Save your time and post on something that you can actually get.

Yes the stats are great, but thats how it goes. Heck I think Wizards should get Superior heal and Clarity.... but it ain't gonna happen. =)

Nope, they are a chain class. Look at Velious armor. Only real exception is Totemic and JB armor maybe. Shamans cant wear FP.

Weight means nothing to those who could use 30 wisdom. IE pallys and Clerics. I'm sure they wouldn't mind being weighed down a tad for that amount of insane wisdom and ac

You should realy have a lighter BP and melee classes have heavy stuff already, Besides, Its junk, No mana, No HP, this if it was not no drop would sell for like 15k in EC

Thats true but thats a Crazy CLERIC BP... Cleric only =P

I'd kill for this BP (never gonna get one i guess hehe) but it seems kinda unfair to allow pal/sk to use it and give it 30wis and only 9int =/

High wisdom items are something that all clerics look for ... 30 wisdom will give most clerics more of a choice to change out some of their lower wis items for more AC items.

I am just wondering how hard this mob is and how many groups does it take to take it down :)

Yup its a good Cleric BP probably the highest AC one out there for you guys also. but I wouldn't count Paladins out of the roll most 50+ clerics already have over 200 wisdom, especially one in a guild able to attain this.

Sal'Varae's robe of darkness also has 60 AC and is cleric useable. Of course getting either of these items isn't too easy (especially when neph is ahead of you in dkp! DAMN YOU NEPH!). Happy hunting.

Goodbye ToV, hello Grieg's End.
This items plain out disguesting, expecially on a pvp server...a little heavy, but who gives a sh!t. For those stats and ac, I'd give up almost anything.

What Shred seems to forget is that The Troll SK and Erudite SK's have MUCH worst Exp Charts than the Half Elf Paladin and the high Elf Paladin..

Also.. AC: +60 Str: +8 Sta: +7 Dex: +6 Wis: +30 Int: +9 Cha: +5 Magic Resist: +5 Fire Resist: +5 Cold Resist: +5 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +5..

60 Ac.. Str, Sta, Dex, Cha.. don't be suprised if you see alot of Bards interested in this little item also. I know I'd be.

To those commenting about the lack of Mana/HP
# Jan 25 2002 at 6:04 PM Rating: Decent
Yes, the lack of HP is a bite in the ass for such a nice BP, but considering the decent well-rounded resists and the extreme wisdom this makes an EXCELLENT Breastplate for Shaman, Paladin and Clerics in particular - the lack of mana is completely negated by the high Wisdom I would wager(I don't feel like looking it up)
RE: To those commenting about the lack of Mana/HP
# Jan 27 2002 at 2:35 AM Rating: Decent
I basically agree, however as nice as it would be to shamans, they can't use.

Great pal bp imo. Lotta clerics involved with getting this item to drop would likely have over 200 wis, possibly capped at 255 with their current setup. Also likely have a sov bp with MoK. If that is the case, most rather not loose the effect, hp, and straight mana.

30 wis would be great to help bring up the pal's mana pool without sacrificing much probably besides some straight HP. They have some darn nice healing spells/buffs to aid raids and groups.

I foresee many going to paladins more than any other single class. Could be wrong though.

Can't help but agree with Gestalt. While this is a great cleric BP, there are better BP's out there without as much raw AC or Wis but better rounded stats and effects that make them much more useful. Paladins on the otherhand could use the AC and unlike clerics, they probably haven't maxed their Wis unless they have sacrificed AC for Wis (and what part time tank is going to sacrifice AC for stats?).

Oh, and for all those who keep compairing this with the crazy cleric BP, yeah the crazy cleric is nicer overall IMHO but it's also MUCH MUCH harder to get since VI nerfed the card drops.

Twotone has nothing to do with the color of the BP. Tommy Twotone was the artist behind the song that supplies the stats for this BP (8-6-7-5-3-0-niiiiine)

And for those of you arguing about who should get this BP, don't worry. The uber guilds fight over who is forced to take this piece of trash. If your guild is big enough to take down Grieg, this is junk. No mana, no hp, limited STA, limited resists, trust me no one really wants this.
#Taimat, Posted: Jan 25 2002 at 4:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Being that it is a two-tone BP, does it actually use two colors or is it just the name and is one color like all the other armor out there (save velious armor, etc.) ? Just wanna know. :)

It got it's name over a song from the 1980's made by Tommy Tutone, hence the name. He made a song called "867-5309 Jenny's Number" and as you can see on stats and name it matches pretty nicely with numbers and everything.

Itīs a real bp..I sent in the picture myself. Why does everyone scream fake when a new item shows up. =( Great way of encouraging people to report in what they find. Take a walk by Safehouse and there is a thread there, same on Paladins of Norrath. Our clerics wonīt even come near this bp. (no mana on it and 255 wis already, I guess). Itīs a nice paladin (and maybe SK) bp though.
As for who drops it, take a wild guess...I said what zone it was, didnīt I? :p
