unrest groundspawn

is this quest broken due to the revamp of unrest ? i can't find the groundspawn there and i spent over 10 hours going over the entire grounds area ( and the mazes ) inch by inch. nada....any help would be appreciated.

i tryed to /showgrass off and nothing changed ... dropped all flora post bloom lod and turned detail all the way down ... it seems that the Unrest revamp has affected this ground spawn because i have searched for hours and never found it yet. please update if anyone has petitioned and with what results ... seems to be broken and that is quite unfair /stupid revamp

If you are using tobynn's write up from below be aware the steamfont mountain spawn point is -900 -470 not +970 -470.


Beware there is a groundspawn for the rogue 1.5 in the eastern maze of unrest too.Don't get confused and loot that by mistake.


/showgrass off helps to see the groundspawns

The spot with the 3 pipe update was a little weird to get an update for,had to try a few times.

As a necro i was able to solo this by fd flopping to the top of each tower while getting updates.

Proper spoiler alert!

Quest task "Gyrospire Relocation Research" given by Researcher Stripcog in Fortress Mechanotus. He's in one of the tents at the zone-in area.


1.) This gyroscope fell in a lake ring, but was eaten by a fish that swam into a cave. (ALL)
2.) This gyroscope fell in a maze. (ALL)
3.) This gyroscope fell near a dark castle with flapping eyes. (ALL)
4.) This gyroscope fell behind a stone with a face. (ALL)
5.) This gyroscope fell in deep water between two rocks in a sad ocean. (ALL)
6.) This gyroscope fell in a pile of huge bones near a windmill. (ALL)
7.) This gyroscope fell amongst tiny people. (ALL)
8.) This gyroscope fell within moving trees amongst dead trees near standing stones. (ALL)
9.) This gyroscope fell near a statue in the shade. (ALL)
10.) Loot 1 Gyrospire Beza Gyroscope 058'142'064 from a steamsuit. (The Steam Factory)
11.) Speak with Researcher Stripcog to acquire the Broken Gyrospire Relocation Device. (Fortress Mechanotus)
12.) Place the gyrospires in the Broken Gyrospire Relocation Device and seal it. (ALL)
13.) Active the Gyrospire Relocation Device on the training mat. (Gyrospire Beza)
14.) Active the Gyrospire Relocation Device near the standing valve in the infirmary. (Gyrospire Beza)
15.) Active the Gyrospire Relocation Device in the corner between the ramp and control room. (Gyrospire Beza)
16.) Active the Gyrospire Relocation Device in the secret room near steamwork storage. (Gyrospire Zeka)
17.) Active the Gyrospire Relocation Device on the dias with three pipes. (Gyrospire Zeka)
18.) Active the Gyrospire Relocation Device under the breech of the Zeka Launcher. (Gyrospire Zeka)
19.) Give Researcher Stripcog the tuned Gyrospire Relocation Device. (Fortress Mechanotus)


On final hand-in:

Researcher Stripcog says 'Yes. This is great. This will work out just great. I justneedtoadjustthisandpressthatandshiftthatand yes, there it goes. That should work. Thank you very much. This will be very useful in our efforts. You can keep this device as with your efforts I now know how to duplicate this. When you use the item, if you are facing north you will go to gyrospire zeka, but if you are facing south you will go to gyrospire beza. If you are at the gyrospire, and not at the landing point, you will go to the landing point, and if you are at the landing point you will go to the other gyrospire. Neat huh?!?'

7.) Looted from "a darkvine thistle" (brownies) in Dragonscale Hills
8.) Ground spawn in Loping plains, near the Oracle tree, approx (+2450, +2900) ***
9.) Ground spawn in Hills of Shade, close proximity to Scorn/statue approx (+445, +2000)
10.) Looted from "a steamsuit" in Steam Factory
11.) Hail Researcher to acquire the Broken container
12.) Combine the 10 gyroscopes
13.) Crawl Beza and click the device to update task
14.) Crawl Beza and click the device to update task
15.) Crawl Beza and click the device to update task
16.) Crawl Zeka and click the device to update task
17.) Crawl Zeka and click the device to update task
18.) Crawl Zeka and click the device to update task
19.) Return to Stripcog and collect your new toy.

*** These ground spawns are faint in color and hide well amidst the ground cover. Look carefully or you will miss these two.


Regarding the activation points, they are all along the route you take to reach the rooftop. No backtracking required, just plow your way up top for the very last time!

The training room is a door just at the top right of the second spiral ramp in Beza. The Infirmary in Beza is the smaller of the two rooms filled with beds. The third spot in Beza in the typical afk/safe spot on the roof just next to the control room where zero mobs path. This final checkpoint is also the teleport spot of the functional reward device.

The secret room in Zeka is adjacent to the conveyor room wherein the deactivated steamworks are hanging up (storage); it's a tiny empty room with a white door. The dias with three pipes is impossible to miss on your route to the roof, as you need to practically step on it on your way. The breech location in Zeka is not up on the platform behind the cannon, it is directly underneath the base. This final activation checkpoint is also the teleport spot of the functional reward device. Although I did not agro anything when I touched down, there are see invis mobs all around and it appears to be a good spot to get real dead real fast (I did stand here for 30mins waiting on recast timer and did not agro anything).


I was able to confirm the various functions of the device. Facing north (in any zone) teleports you to the roof of Zeka. Likewise, facing south (in any zone) teleports you to the roof of Beza. If you are standing at one landing point, and click the device, you teleport to the landing point of the other Gyrospire. Clicking the device within a Gyrospire will send you to the roof, regardless of what direction you face. Recast timer is 30 minutes.

Anyone have /loc's for Beza/Zeka? I ran around clicking that thing for a few hours in what I thought were the right spots, but no dice. Also, can you be invis when you do this, or Lev'ed? As for the Steamsuit drops. I found that the top right part (of the map) of SF was the best spot for these drops, its the large round room, I think North of the MMM zoneline. It has about 8ish steamsuit mobs. I set up in the very small round room before the hallway to the larger round room, it is 100% safe. I got 3 drops in 2 clearings.

Have only done Beza so far. You can indeed have lev on here and Sow/SoE works fine. The update for the training room is the center of the training mat (dark blue rug). The Infirmary is the room north of the safe room. The update for the Infirmary is the west end of the room (left through the door) between the steam vents, but there were three see-invis mobs in here so be aware. The update on the roof is straight back along the top of the ramp to the side of the tower/control room.

Update: Finished Zeka. Add the following locations in your gyrospirez_1.txt map:

P -1.0000, 292.3750, 600.7399, 127, 0, 0, 2, Breech_Point
P 63.5183, 219.5528, 350.4540, 127, 0, 0, 2, StorageRooom

The 3 pipe spot updates to the LEFT of the ramp as you face it, sorry no loc, Engineer LXII was spawned at the middle pipe and he killed me after the update.

For us, the click area was straight up at the top of the ramp near the middle pipe. It seemed like each toon had to move around a bit so that each of them ended up clicking a different place. But it was up the ramp for us.

Can you activate the device also in instanced versions of beza? If so it might be easier to do cause no repops in the instanced zones so easier to go further when you get a wipe like I had yesterday. I hope it's possible.

Good write up! ran through this in about 2 hours today np. Only issuse i had was it took 27 steamsuits to drop the orb for me. seemed to work well camping in the room with the converor belt.

Get the task "Gyrospire Relocation Research" from Researcher Stripcog in Fortress Mechanotus at about 195, -1520, 400 or in 3rd tent at zone in behind Pyrotechnician Flizcog.
