The Helm is Ghetto.....
# Sep 24 2002 at 6:16 PM Rating: Default
So I go all out of my way to get this whole set of armor based on the limited pictures I have seen of it together and most all of it looks awsome, until I put that Helm on my High Elf head. Now basically we got a awsome set of armor with a ghetto blue helm that doesnt even match the rest of the armor. So if your any other race it looks cool, if your a High Elf hang it up. I dont mind the stats though. Heh. Guess I will have to find a new helm. But it fails the fashion show for your guild raid if your a HIE.

Why not then just spend the 50pp or so and buy DYE. it works wonders for making my armor on my char's match...and can be reversed too.

something to think about.

I am wondering if the negative agi stats might be affected if wearing a full set of the armor: 2 bracers and one of the rest. I have all the pieces on my Barbie Warrior twink except the greaves. I'll post a reply to this once I get the greaves for him.

Killing these fellows is a good way to raise most Seru faction, including the hard to raise Hand Legionaires faction.

I usually duo the 6 static and 2 patrolling legionaires near the Twilight Sea zone in Katta. I'm not sure what exact level you need to be to single pull, but I've been pulling with Malosi (57 Mage), I can pull them past each other, etc. I duo with my wife, has a 53 Necro, dark/fear, and two backstab pets, setup to the right as you zone in and the fear pathing gives you eons before the guard will get to his shorty pals at the entrance to the town's underground. At a guess, I'd say most of them are right around level 45.

They also drop those damaged helms that can be turned in to Tymoz in Tenebrous to raise Coterie faction. My Necro wife has turned in close to 100 helms, but hasn't gotten out of dubious yet.

I remember when I replaced my bronze bp with one of these that the negative AGI was not enough to offset the AC difference, and this was lighter. With a weight of 8.0 and +10 STR, it frees up some carrying capacity, which is important if you have low STR and are struggling with heavy armor. I would think that as long as you are careful to keep your AGI from dropping below 75, that you won't have to worry.

Well, got the greaves for my warrior, didn't affect the agi at all, was hoping if you wore the whole set that the neg agi might be changed somehow.

Everquest does not have the ability to grant bonuses for a full set of armor. This was a myth started back in the days with Blackened Iron Armor by Diablo 2 players :)

At low agility levels, improving your defensive skills takes extra time. It takes even longer if you're spending most of your time leveling as a support tank and not the main tank. Paladins, since we never get dual wield, will often have to work very hard to out-taunt some of the other classes in order to take a few hits and keep the defensive skills growing. Take away agility and a paladin would have a hard time building defense, parry and riposte.

Yes, if your AGI drops below your base (becomes red) it has a profound affect on your AC.

I purchased a few pieces of VC armor for my 29 SK. When I replaced my 6AC helm with the 13AC VC helm, my total AC WENT DOWN!! I discovered that the helm put my AGI into the red and had a HUGE hit to my total AC.

I corrected this by buying a Serpentine Bracer, +9 AGI, and keeping the VC on. The 9 AGI made a 12 point difference in my total AC. Not directly from the AGI, but because it got my total AGI out of the red.

So with killing these guys and killing thought leeches / spire area in Mons Letalis, I think you can raise all the available Seru factions. The seru factions missing from the above that I know of are:

Citizens Seru
Heart Seru
Shoulders Seru

Most of the Mobs that see invis that I have encountered in Sanctus Seru have been on the "Hand Legionnaires" faction, which includes the Legionnaires at the zoneline in Sanctus Seru as well.

Mushii:

That's because entrance guards are always much tougher then guards on the inside...I have soloed a few of the halfling guards inside (which seemed easier as the dwarf kicked my ***). Problem is single pulling as they often come in pairs.

I wanna hunt here more often, but just need to get more to do it.

Also, the guards drop weapons and shields with bugged graphics. For instance the swords looked like mandolins and the shield looked like a kickass sword.

The Guards
# Jan 23 2002 at 12:53 PM Rating: Decent
The guards are pretty damn bad@zz! I thought I'd check out Luclin when it first came out...loged on my bro's SK (lvl 60 now). Didn't know where I was going but ended up in Temberous Mnts. The two guards that were in front of Katta coned green, so I thought, what the hell, and went to it.

1st-thing that I realized is that they have a VERY big line of sight.

2nd-thing, was that these guys hit incredibly fast and hard. (4attacks + bash + kick)So I ended up having to Vampiric Curseing, than Life Leeching the grimy little humies.

These guys DO drop the armor tho, I got a Velidus Belt from one of em. Not to shabby, but Guardians better...
Crusty vs Guard's
# Jan 21 2002 at 9:07 PM Rating: Default
Crusty Drops off Otter Warriors & Shamans & they have SOW, So kiting isnt very easy, resist Snare lot, I have a 56 Druid that gave up trying.
Maybe if you have full group of 45s can do Otters effectively, Not sure on Guards YET, will tell you later, cause Im going to try :)
Guards
# Jan 19 2002 at 9:00 AM Rating: Default
Unless there are guards lower than what I have seen you will have a hard time to get the armor at 35...
Reminds me...
# Jan 18 2002 at 6:09 PM Rating: Default
This armor reminds me a bit of Crustacean Shell armor. At least with the str bonus and AC. Not too sure, but i think this is a little more AC with less strength, no stamina, and negative agi instead of dex. Crusty armor, in my opninion, is better but this has the level of 35 to attain, while you need to be 42 to attin crusty according to this page.
RE: Reminds me...
# Jul 24 2002 at 6:06 PM Rating: Default
At early levels crusty might be better due to sta...but later on if you're a tank AC is king unless in a resist situation.

Agi is kinda strange when factored into AC. 4 agi is bout 1 ac really, so you might take a 1 AC hit for this. The 1 AC hit is after the AC and defensive skills are added together so while if you're a high level warrior wearing this BP you may get 40 raw ac, the agi will make it 39. Numbers used aren't exact but it makes the point.

don't forget though, if your agi drops below 75, you will loose much more ac .

And even later on ac becomes trivial and hps are all that keep you alive while you wait for the next cheal . . . I think we're past the point of saying AC is king.
