bought one for 85k only to have my 66 dru alt win roll for another 2 days later on kael raid. resold for 150k easy as it was only one up in bazaar at the time.

You can indeed Slam while under the illusion BUT.....there is one MAJOR problem. You CANNOT Backstab and Slam at the same time. Its either or. They both have the same refresh rate. I have personally tested this. As long as you hit the BS key from either the front or back of the mob "doesn't matter which" the Slam key gets blacked out as well. Kinda sucks since i don't think any Rogues are gonna be choosing to Slam over BS. So the Slam feature with the mask is pretty useless. Great mask non the less.

This mask is Bard wearable to, so its not THAT useless.
Is it true that you can Slam when under this illusion?
yes, when in illusion large race, you can slam.

You can't pickpocket mobs that High in LvL in the first place. I seriously doubt that this item was pickable from regular giants in Kael. The highest thing I have ever beeen able to pick is Blue Diamons in Seb and Chardok. I have fought waayyyyyyyy to much in Kael for Dragon faction and pickpocket every mob I fight every chance I get and have never gotten anything but money from Kael Giants.
If you find that your purse is lighter than usual then I have probably passed your way.

You can't pickpocket no drop or magic items. Any pickpocketing rogue knows that.

u can however disarm no drop weapons i found out, learned that from a gnome in steamfont when i disarmed his wepon and picked it up, turned out it was no drop =P just thought id throw that in there even though this post probably ahsn't been read in about 2 years by ANYONE

Glad that it's not the same stats as the DE mask (like the iksar one is) and its an item I could use that I dont have to compete with the main tank for.
P.S. I do like the giant illusion idea, I'd love to come up on someone at mach6 in giant form and see what their reaction would be :)
Stats? 10sta I dont have to have equipped somewhere else to keep mine above a respectable level, str is carrying capacity if nothing else, the AC is very nice so are the HP and so are the saves.

str also affects attack rait
i know the post was made in 2003 but for the noobs out there, attack rate is not nor has it ever been affaceted by str. if your dex is below 120 you will have a slightly less attack rate (what tankd do you know at level 10+ that dont have 120 or more dex any way) other then that the only thing that affects attack rate is the haste items, songs, and spells on you and if your slowed by any spells or songs.
what str does and this is all that it does is 3 things. incresses your max carring capasity, increses your endurence levels, and increseases your attack RATEING, ie under Armor Class XXX you have Attack XXX more str means more Attack XXX which means a better chance to land a hit/ hit for your max, this does not affect your crit rate ( it does affect what you crit for due to your crit being based on a % of what your original non crit hit would of been) dex makes you crit more (just to not confuse you).
so as i said str does not= your attack rate, if it did you would kick the chanter out of the gruop and get the shammy that gives you 100 str insted and 55% haste insted of the chanters 75% haste.

Got my mask tonight, 2 dropped actually and two helms of rallos zek. The major highlight is the 35ac 10stam 100hp 7 sv all, not really interested in the str/dex like another poster was saying, hp is where it's at;)

People sell this all the time, smart guy. it's called a high end guild farming the AoW until all their rogues have it. Then they keep killing him for the other loot which they may not have enough of already (hihi rings / BoC's) - so the guildbanker sells the mask to help buy other goodies for guild.

hmm a mask this good could only come from the hide of a barbarian such as myself...or my cousin johann, we wont get into how the avatar got his hide cause it is quite a messy story.

Being in a guild that is about to kill AoW, the only things I am looking at on this are the hp and saves, yes the AC is nice but as a rogue I am not trying to get hit and by the time your guild is killing AoW you should be at 1200AC or so which is plenty. For raids all I try to do is keep my hp and resists as high as possible and my str/dex/agi around or above 155 (have primal) and keep sta at 205 or close. This will maximize your buffs and proc.

Ya know, with as badass a mob as the Avatar of War is, you would think he would drop a giant mask, would be sweet seeing a 30 ft giant going mach 5 across WK. Nice stats otherwise.

its a fantastic item anyway. I guess the barb form would only be useful for the rare dark elf rogue around halas (or other races I guess) to have higher faction than the indiff they would have via sneaking when selling, might help with kosness too.
