4) what is spawn rate

1.) Gantru Dralkenr (for me)
2.) In the field
3.) Kill gantrus
4.) rare
5.) no

we downed him with 5, was about a 10 min fight or so. we had -

58 Chanter (me)
57 Pally
55 Cleric
54 SK
52 Warrior

now yeah, that is a smaller force than yours, but we have one thing you dont have. SLOW. after a slow to the head (i used Forlorn Deeds) he's nothing but a lot of hitpoints.

He rampaged about 8 - 9 times, was slowed with ease after a tash, and after a slow, really did little damage.

But our forces did take a long time to down him, if you were to fight him in the field, youd be a gonner from the adds. Just get a FD'er to pull it to the ME zone. Then you have no worries.

In recap, get a slower, you can do it. Id go as far as saying that a Slower (shammy//chanter), cleric, and tank (preferably pally//SK so they hold aggro when slower is slowing) could trio it. it would be a LONG fight and not worth it, but it would be successful.

Level 58 when i fought it (white to me). Slower should be the applicable level.

Also, i won this. When it was dropped (were NBG pickup group, just some people who group at times) the Pally said "Tanks only?" and the general consensus is that it has saves, it has ac, and it has stamina, ALL CLASSES can use all of that.

We had 15 on the kill last night on Radir. I would say average level 58ish. It was a peice of cake with the people we had. I was MT(61 War) I would say you need atleast 8 people around level 55 to take him down. If you dont kill fast enough, repops can become a pain. I wouldnt suggest trying it with just you 6. Best of luck if you do. Gantru also drops this and I think your group would be able to take him.

Yeah gee, who would want 60+ hps on a bracer. Yeah that loot just sucks. Whatever. These go for 15k
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 23 2002 at 6:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) AC > Stamina. 12AC is low for any chain or plate class that is doing Rumblecrush and the like. AC, HP, Str, Dex, Mana, Wis, Sta, Agi is my hierarchy as a ranger. I'd be willing to sacrafice a little AC for a bracelet of might or quickness; 15 Sta is just not worth it, tho'.

as a ranger ,i am looking for sta/hps/saves items always. why? well everyone else said why. you only need ac when the mob is actually hitting you, and a good ranger will avoid that most of the time. only time i get hit,is when i want to get hit (saving a caster), other times, i can get hit by a reposte, but that's about it. the sta will make me last longer against the big AE mobs though, and the saves will make me resist him more, what more could i want when TS is down .P

---AC is greater than Stamina ONLY if you are taking a lot of melee damage. At the 'high level' game, Monks (all classes, really) often find themselves taking far more area effect spell damage than melee damage. AC doesn't help in that department. Also, there is a soft cap in the value of AC for each expansion. While Monks rarely reach that cap, tank classes often do and switch out for stamina, resists and hit points.
RE: not crap
# Jun 23 2002 at 10:16 PM Rating: Decent
Mmmm....Sta = HP's, therefore this Bracer rocks. AC is useless in the high end game unless you are a Tank, as a Ranger no amount of AC will save you if you get hit. Also 6 v all resists tops off what is a very nice item. The best of the bracers in this set.
RE: not crap
# Jun 24 2002 at 4:01 PM Rating: Good
While I wholeheartedly agree that this bracer kicks ***, I'd say it's quite nice for a tank as well. While AC is important to tanks. In the high end game, AC becomes secondary to HP. At 1100, the usefullness of further AC begins to decline and after 1450, more is fairly pointless. Uber mobs tend to hit for close to their max when they hit; the most effective way to stay alive is to have plenty of HP so that you can absorb these hits as long as possible so that the CH lands (and it will land at scedualed intervals - usually several clerics will be casting CH in rotation every few seconds). A good example of HP > AC is the pants that Furor (FoH guildleader/MT and arguably best equipped war in the game) wears... Bloodclaw leggens: 10ac 65hp and, if I recall correctly, a few resists.

Another good point to this bracer is the resists. These save you from having to carry and swich out another bracer (generally blue diamond) when resists are needed. Resists and HP are the only things that EVERYONE on many raids needs. The mobs in ToV, for example, have AoEs which wreak havoc unless you have the resists/hp (and lvls, higher lvls give better resist checks) to soak up the damage.

I, being less than wholely uber, try to keep my AC at or above 1100 but focus on HP/resists as much as possible while still maintaining such AC.

I would rank this as, all in all, the best bracer of the set. It would be usefull to most (or, arguably, all) classes, particularly melees, though I could forsee it having a use to any class. Casters could pair it with a bracer of comprehension, priests with a bracer of sense, melees with either a bracer of quickness or the new cultural bracer (which is what I use, I rather like the combo), etc.

All things considered, this is a very nice bracer and one I don't forsee giving up any time soon. On my server, 15k is the going rate, though 10k pops up every once in a great while.

he has at least 50k hp, doesnt hit that hard, once you stick the slow its over, but will be a 15 minute fight with solo group. single group of 55+ can take it, I got a steady group with a 53 cleric and myself as MA (only 54 tank but I got 1100 ac unbuffed), and we work awesome; rest of group is high 50s. this guy is pretty easy once the slow sticks, and the lewt is phat as ever. I believe that might is the best one for monks, but they all very good. course, I dont care bout monks cuz I ent one..

Spawn Rate
# Mar 21 2002 at 9:27 AM Rating: Decent
My experience is that he pops at longish intervals since I was there with a group recently and we killed Moktors for around 4 hours and saw one dralkenr. However I've no idea when he was killed prior to our arriving, but the interval must be in excess of 4 hours.

Therefore assuming that the drop rate for each type is about the same you'd probably get the bracer you want if you spent a day or two in Umbral. My experience of about 4 weeks in Umbral on and off is that the drops in order of most common to rarest : 1)Sta 2)Str 3)Cha 4)Dex/Agi, 5)Int and 6)Wis.
Spawn time?
# Mar 16 2002 at 2:11 AM Rating: Default
Anyone know yet what this guys spawn time? It seems just about everytime I zone into Umbral Plains, this guy is up. On the Drinal Server, this zone usually isnt busy unless a guild is raiding one of the big mobs. My guess is that this guy doesnt have a place holder but a certain time until he spawns again.

I have Bracelet of Quickness (12ac 15dex 15agi 6allsaves 0.7wt) and Bracelet of Fortitude (12ac 15sta 6allsaves 0.7wt). The greedy platinum monging guilds are farming this zone night and day on Innoruuk. Im a shadowknight, I use these over Blood Lords Bracer and Dark Runed Bracer. I lose a small amount of AC, but gain great stats and great saves. And due to my vast ego I like items with the word "of" in them.
Totally a monk item.
# Feb 28 2002 at 12:59 PM Rating: Decent
At least in the high end game the STR/STA/AGI/DEX varieties of these bracers are for monks. Low weight, solid AC, good melee stats and resists. Heavy tanks wouldn't use for lack of AC. The WIS/INT/CHA varieties would obviously be better suited to other classes though.
Well, totally is strong perhaps.
# Mar 06 2002 at 2:46 AM Rating: Default
This is certainly a great item for a Monk, don't get me wrong. The other class that would benefit primarily from these is the Rogue though, no shock there.

The vast majority of Rogues suffer from very low Stamina and will always seek items that provide saves, relatively good AC and HP. If that HP comes in the form of Stamina, all the better. Starting with <75 Stamina as many Rogues do, maintaining that 100 minimal Stamina in resist gear is often tricky. Getting it close to capping is darned near impossible ;)

Overall, I am impressed with the design of the bracers. To pair this with a bracer of Might would make for excellent utility and resist bracers rolled into one package for off-tanks. Rangers would likely opt for one of these and a wisdom one, while main tanks would still seek higher AC items likely. Casters benefit from a class one and probably one of these for the HP in many cases. They are all good for someone and certainly aren't going to go to waste.

On uber mobs, HP tends to be greater than AC, even for MA's. After 1450ac, more is almost usless, even 1100 is enough -- just have good HP. I could see this being usefull to MA classes as well quite easily. More HP=more time to wait for that CH. As a shadowknight, I MA in xp groups more often than not and I can take the heat in places like icewell keep, kael arena, etc. quite easily too. I would very much appreciate the boost in HP from the 15sta, not to mention 6svAll over the 16ac BE bracer I use (coupled with a tier'dal regent bracer, 25ac 5svAll 30hp/mana). For SK's and, sometimes Pally's who's role tends to be that of secondary tank on raids, the mix of good resists and hp/ac would be a great asset. When something goes wrong, it's often their job to try and fix it (ping-pong or poor mob placement for example).

This bracer would be wonderfull for any melee class, and would have it's uses to casters aswell, though not quite to the same extent. When it comes to places like ToV where your life is based around eating the AE damage, HP and resists are the one thing keeping you alive. On the mobs with unresistable AEs, hp is your one and only saving grace.

All in all, great bracer, I'd love to get my hands on one, as would about anyone who doesn't have one or something similar. 12ac is not bad for an MA class when coupled with good HP/resists. Take a look at Furor's leggens... 10ac 65hp and a few minor resists.

I'll be gentle, There are a set of these, fortitude, quickness, sense, ect. Thats what I was refering too, I understand how lore works (If ye have a lore item of a 'x' name, ye can NOT loot or get another lore item of a 'x' name). However, thanks for trying to point that out. Good Day!

You can't just go by the name all of the time. For example, the second Khukri quest from the Iksar Shadowkight guild requires 10 "a tome page" (1 no drop, lore page [given at quest start], 1 Non-lore "a tome page," and 8 lore "a tome page,") to be combined in a no drop lore tome binder.

Sorry for being **** about it but that quest is still being a pain (only another 40 explorer knives or so until I can actually roam through out Cabilis, joy....)
