This and Shadowheart (flaming in on shadow in off) is a uber combo IMO, going to get these on my rogue.

I am not a hot melee as a bard. But with this in secondary and battle drummer's main gauche in primary, singing my haste song, I am standing toe to toe with mobs I used to have to chant and dance with. It hurts when they have a damage shield, though :-).

I won this in rolls with shadowheart on one UP raid. That was enough to make me get my piercing up, it is now maxed. In long fights I have to twist in a stamina regen or I start missing a lot - these are heavy for piercers.

And it does have a nice look, not one of your wimpy daggers.

Ok, Does the weight of gear affect game play other than running and walking around??
Nice

got this today off of tawro along with braclet of sense and rod of virtue, no one else could use it, so it defaulted to me 8)

14 20 with the fire damage, plus all these stats, now i have a reason to get pierce up!

Very nice

Snagged this baby a few nights ago from Spirit of Tawro while in UP with my guild.
14/20 (fire dmg included) and uber dex/agi + damn good sta/str make this my secondary choice, with the Snowchipper primary. Liked it so much I went from 96 peircing skill to 210 in a few nights of exp :D

Setup
# Sep 04 2002 at 6:34 PM Rating: Decent
Personally I think that using a shadow heart or flaming dirk in primary and LS of freedom in secondary along with a 40 percent PoA haste belt would work better than ragebringer. Y'see, both weapons have better ratios and if you pull out RB to BS you have a very good setup.

Tawro and Radir are easy to kill, drop these not too rarely, and are the perfect solution to guilds that aren't quite uber but are high lvl needing nice weapons for tanks.

Even if you could efficiently swap RB in for backstab it would still not be worth it. RB adds 100 ATK, which make a significant impact on your DPS.

RB adds 60 atk. 40 from equipping it and another 20 due to the str stats.

Parse logs on thesafehouse.org have shown RB in offhand with <insert nice rogue poker here> does more damage than 2 <insert nice weapon here> and a 40 or 41 haste item.

Heh, that's exactly the weapon combo I use, although only with 27% permanent haste (+20% optional from eyepatch). Worked very nicely for me. From 3 times I did Tawro he dropped once the LS, once the dirk and once the staff.

Fire Damage
# Mar 11 2002 at 8:33 AM Rating: Good
The plus 3 fire damage means that the weapon is 14/20 everytime the monster in question fails a resist check against fire.

So.... unless the monster you're fighting is very fire resistant the weapon will for all intents be 14/20. Against fire immune mobs it would be 11/20.

No proc or anything like that. Just a straight up bonus to the DMG rating of the weapon considered vs. the mobs fire resist.

I tend to agree with this. Before I got my Ragebringer, I was using a Serpent's Tooth (13/27) and the Flaming Dirk (11/20). When I first got the Flaming Dirk, I used it in my offhand because the damage was lower. I decided to swap weapons. I'm glad I did, because even though the damage rating was "lower" (11 as opposed to 13), I was getting pierces as good or better than the Serpent's Tooth, and I got backstabs that were sometimes BETTER than I got with the Serpent's Tooth.

Now I wield this in my offhand with the Ragebringer in my primary, and with the 40% haste on the Ragebringer, I fight like a buzzsaw. :)

It may seem that way, but you are incorrect nonetheless. Elemental damage is flat damage, only Bane Vs _____ weapons actually add to the base damage of the weapon. otherwise this weapon would be incredibly powerful.

aye, the flaming dirk can be 11/12/13/14-20 dmg weapon depending on the fire resist check. It is still a nice weapon for offhand on an epic rogue.

Update - Additional Drop Information
# Mar 08 2002 at 7:58 AM Rating: Decent
The Flaming Dirk also drops from the Spirit of Tawro, a level 60 elemental that spawns after killing Tawro Icequake, a level 60 Syl Ren (blue alien). So now there are at least two on my server. :)

do they drop like the gorganda spiked club, everyone has one and people anr there jsut to loot?
RE: can i get one
# Feb 27 2002 at 9:44 PM Rating: Decent
I highly doubt it, not with those stats (which are dragon-like). Also, I've yet to find anyone else with one, not even on The Safehouse. Since Doomshade is a boss, he probably doesn't drop any everyone-has-one items.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 15 2002 at 3:30 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) it looks like my ******. real small and pointy.

# Feb 15 2002 at 1:07 AM Rating: Decent
does this have any special look
RE: look
# Feb 15 2002 at 5:57 PM Rating: Excellent
Sort of, but it's not unique. It has the same look as the crude stone dagger you can find on newbie-ish creatures in Shadeweaver's Thicket. It has a wide, flat blade with a kind of yellowish stone colour. I know that doesn't describe it well, however. :\

Let me see if I can link to a picture of it. :)
