Shadows of LuclinGotten this from Orcs in Oaisis too.. sooo its not just a Luclin armor..
I think the big difference is that all the rough-hide is a fairly common drop.. nice to get some leather around level 11-14 you can get a full set fairly easily.. heck.. in oaisis alot of people just leave it on the ground.. fo those who need it

Is it cheaper than leather?
If not, what's the point???
Even if it is, who's gonna hike to Shadow Haven for it before thay can afford something better?
Seems like there's a ton of new items on Luclin that seem completely useless.
Of course, there's some way cool stuff too...but why did they bother with all this other junk?

maybe it has an alternate graphic for leather, much like soft wicker... if not, then it does seem pretty lame to add another version of leather that has no difference outside of the name.
Maybe Verant wanted to promote the idea that Luclin is a new world that had no contact with Norrath for many (hundreds or thousands?) years. So on Luclin they developed new armor and items, similar to Norrath's but different. Howevever, I do agree that if this is the same as leather and looks the same, they just tagged a new name on, it was a waste of time. Their time would have been better spent working on all the bugs they released the expantion with. Or perhaps working on more different and new types of armor and items that actually have different stats.
