I presume this is the Fungus Coated Tarmok Staff, not 'covered' ?
price?

I picked one of these up today in the bazaar on Morell-Thule server, only cost 100pp, i figured it would be a good weapon to work on 2hb with, and boy was i right. With a good haster in the grp it hits decent for me (that is because my haste item is my epic so i never got a haste item) and im hitting over 120 all the time, and getting crits in the 300's with a skill of only 30
cheap

This weapon would be great for dueling, even if it doesn't have any great extra stats besides the disease resist, it's also nice to know that it's for ALL/ALL. And it's fairly light as a weapon...

Great Weapon

I recently acquired one of these, very nice weapon IMO. I need to get my 1hb up a bit, but even with it at 120 I was hitting for max of 107, str was 207. I'll use it to keep my aggro down while still doing loads of damage...I can OD my kicks with this thing. And since I use SCHW I can drop the delay down a lot.

I picked this up for 750 and it was worth twice as much IMHO. Seems to range from 30-37 dmg depending on the mob's disease reistance. As a 30 level monk I also use a KD/CoT combo and depending on the disease resistance this weapon's modular damage is just slightly less than KD/CoT to substantially higher. Add to this that I can swing this baby seemingly forever without losing stamana, and it's low weight, plus resistance this is a great weapon. I use SCH, which makes the delay a much more tolerable 37 and with Quickness and strength buffs it becomes killer damage output with max hit around 110 for me.

Definitely something to look for in the 30-40 range.

My last post i was level 47 and w/o a haste item--i have since leveled to 49 and obtained a SCHW--i can push my str to 255. I had to spend 500pp training 2hb to 193 because ive only had one skill up in several DAYS on melee combat. At 978 attack rating now, ive had a maximum hit of 153 and at 62% haste the 45 delay is more like 31. I must say to any monk who would like to do killer damage w/o gaining agro to get one of these, you will put out insane damage with doubel attack and the level damage bonus of 38 in the picture is probably close to the upper limit of waht can be acheived, but since u get higher 2hb caps than shamans and double attack this would be a nasty weapon with a haste item and celerity from a chanter/shaman.. Granter there are a few better ratio 2hb out ther that are monk only but this is all all, and its ultra light for a 2hb--if u get one of these hold on to it and practice 2hb--you
will be glad u did.

I just traded a shrunken goblin skull earring for this weapon. I am a 47 shaman with pretty good 2hb ( 180 akill ) maxed offense at 200 and 221 STR...using a drakkel icegrinder i was getting hits of 106 max not counting the proc. The first time I swung this weapon I hit and got a whopping 128 damage!!! I figure that with maxed STR and 2hb I can get hits in the 150-160 range. With Alacrity on this thing is resonable fast ( now all I need is a perm haste item ). The really nice thing is this weighs only 2.2 lbs vs 15 for the Icegrinder and +25sv disease is sweet too. After reading about what a pain this thing is to get I feel I got a good deal ( although I spent the last 3 nights trying for another earring with no luck...grrr.. ) This will allow me alot more freedom with soloing/meleeing.. I cant wait to group and have this thing coneect for 140 damage in front of the tanks in the group, I'm dying to see their reaction. Thanks Clugg for a great weapon. By the way shaman do not get the weapon bonuses each level like melees do--a near 200 damage hit would be sick from "just a caster". Shamans everywhere take up arms!!

nice
# Feb 03 2002 at 12:16 AM Rating: Decent
the ratio is better than 1.5 becuase of the bane damage
RE: nice
# Aug 19 2002 at 5:55 AM Rating: Default
its not bane dmg (which is good seeing as it would be less useful if it was :P)
bane works only against mobs of that type (think: the weapons from the new CT zone that have bane lizard dmg.. in that case the extra dmg only works against mobs of that type.)
Dis Dmg 7 in this case means that every time you swing, the mobs being hit 'roll' to see if they resist the dmg dome by the dis dmg component of the hit. If resisted, the weapon will have a ratio of 30 45, if not resisted, the weapon will act like a 37 45 weapon.

I think the best part about this staff is that it is low weight. Try finding a nice 2hb weapon with weight this low...I dont even know if there are any. I was using Runed Fighters Staff (19/20) for a while but had to sell it recently because it weighed 6.0 and took me over my weight limit.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 09 2002 at 5:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) While it has a nice ratio, most people don't use 2hb and those who do really need stat bonuses and can't give up two important slots for an item that has none.
RE: Nah
# Jan 09 2002 at 10:00 AM Rating: Decent
Most people don't use 2HB? Can't imagine why, when you're swinging anything faster against a DS mob you end up sucking the life out of yourself. And in a group situation? If you're not the main tank you want something nice and slow that hits for tons to let the tank taunt easier. 2HB is a wonderful skill. I have the Tarmok Battlestaff (also from Fungus Grove) which is quite similar (33/44) and I've been using that more than 1HB or H2H lately, forgot how useful the skill was until I had a decent 2HB to use.
Wow.

1.5 ratio, fat damage bonus, and very nice disease save, even though disease isn't the biggest threat ever, it prevents you from wasting traditional save slots on it.
quest drop

there is a quest in Fungus Grove that requires you to help a tarmok kill some fungusbeasts. some named fungusbeats spawn and drops this staff.
