This guy was a wuss. My guild member spawned him, and I was asked to come kill it. I tried to pull with snare, but he was immune so when he started to cast I did the same. Loaded him with 5 dots, and then began my nukes. Took me about 3min to easily solo kill him. He however does chain cast his charm, and did land tash on me. However my MR was still 155, and he couldnt land anything else. He hits for 177-227 decent fast, a little surprised for a EC mob named or not. He did drop the boots which I gave to my guild member so it was a decent & fun fight.

took that foe with just 2 ppl an 65 Enchanter and me (52 bard) had magic resist up to 211 but he still was able to charm me (no i didn't attack my group) the enchanter had the king grimkin as a pet I just looked forward to magic resist and assisted the pet. Fighting took about 3 minutes and he was down. Got me a nice pair of boots.
Maybe we were lucky in this fight (i went down to 28% hp during the fight) but it was the best I ever had in Echo

If you want a good set of overall boots to wear without having 4 different sets of boots ( one for Ac, one for resists, one for HP/stats, one for effects ) get as pair of tribal war boots from chardok. The are much better for WIS casters ( no INT on them ) have better saves on magic/fire/cold, some stat buffs and Ac 12. That being said as a shaman I still keep JB boots for mana free AGI buffs and epic boots for instant sow. But since non-shaman cant use the last 2 pairs of boots the Tribal War boots are some of the best all around boots u can get if you had to pick only ONE pair of boots to have. I traded gear for mine, but I think they werer about 1800pp at the time ( 6-9 months ago ), so they may be cheaper now.

Just a little warning. A 60th warrior with his epics and myself (54th cleric) could NOT take this beast down. Even with almost continuous annul magics from myself it was taking almost no damage from the warrior. So if it had one of those lovely enchanter rune spells on I could not remove it. We fought this critter for about 5 minutes before we gave up and zoned.

You can easily camp the Ghost in the basement of Unrest for some nice boots. DWB AC8, str 3, dex 5 .. something like that. Safer with a partner, but you can solo if you have any experience here.

I personally think that they are better than (at least) druid ToV Boots. ToV boots are 8ac (might be 12), 15dex (lol) 50mana (fair amount) and two to all saves -- and effect sow (WOW AMAZING) -- I use SoE 200x more than I use sow now

umm dude, 2 points of wis gets you like maybe 6-10 mana depending on your level, so to say that your mana on ToV boots is not as important as per say the some total of WiS here, is obviously ignorance on your part.

why bother going after these boots for just 4 wis and 2 to all saves? 2 isnt a lot, and GEBS with 9 wis seem easier to get. =P

"Frutti" boots are ALL/ALL, so I believe iksars can wear them
GEBS are all/all. But, I would rather have Coldain Skin, because of the HP and Mana.

If you goto the section of Echo where the undead spawn, and the named, but common Taskmaster spawns, you may be unlucky enough to find this hidious beast. It look like medusa and it will tear you up untill you are uglier than him if your not ready.
he cons even to me at 52 every time i see him up. He is an enchanter mob and thus, he is hard as hell to kill. his spawn, meaning the time he is up, is VERY short... maybe 10min at max. u can kill all the skelles and the taskmater and hope he pops but be ready to get him when he does.
if you are camping there and cannot kill him, dont worry he will despawn after not to long but watch out, he likes to buff up and haste the taskmaster.

The skeleton's and shissar are not really connected to this mob.. sit outside the small corridor to the room and pull them for days and you won't see him.
This is one of the new luclin room type spawns. There's a "spawner" in the room that you can actually accidentally target through a bug. To get him to spawn you just sit in the room for a certain amount of time.
And as we found out, supposedly he spawns more powerful the longer you stay in the room, with different drops. Darria in my guild now has these boots as well as the Terror guantlets from his second spawn. As we hear leaving the room resets Xilniov back to the first spawn, so be prepared for a long boring adventure.
One strong group of 50+ can take xilniov down, but is much easier with two groups. He charms and it doesn't seem to be affected by your resists. MR up above 100 and I was still beating the hell out of my guildmates.

not everyone can afford Coldain Skin Boots, every item is special in its own little way, even cloth at low lvls is alright for low levels (1-4), seeing how its the new year, we will probably get an influx of new players, so like i said before, not everyone can afford Coldain Skin Boots
While i am in total agreement with your statement in most respects if you cannot get 3k together when you get to the point in the game that you can kill this mob then you are doing something very wrong. this dude is a 52 chanter that tore a hole in some serious groups if you look at the write ups, and at that lvl i would just go to Sol B and get the boots of Djarn it's far less hastle and FAR FAR better loot 8o). this Mob cannot be regarded as Mid lvl in any respects as you need a group of 55+ to handle him with any certainty.
if you want TRUE mid lvl gear go do the Twilight Sea armor it's fun and you can do it from low 40's in a group

I really don't see what all the fuss is about. These really aren't ALL that great. Ok for casters with max wis or int looking to work on resists, but then you could also just get coldain skin boots and replace another slot with resist gear. *shrug*
