These newbie quests also offer a lot of exp gain if you are a true newbie not used to the game, and just getting started in the world. I started with Luclin and did many of these silly little quests in my home city and used the rewards which I recieved from them, and am now at ally faction with everyone in Shar Vahl and when I was doing them I got noticable exp gains, particularly the citizenship quest (at lvl 1 it can be completed in about 20 minutes if you are familiar with the city, a bit longer with some help from others if you are new) which bring a new lvl 1 char to 5% from lvl 2 in a very short time with no fighting involved. Anyhow, item isn't really great BUT there is definitely more to be gained from the quest than most people give it credit for, like many others of the sort.

this isnt really the result of the shaman quest anyway, its a side quest to getting there. the real result is your new cloak a new buckler and a frost rift spell

I can't defend a truly bad item by saying "I quest for roleplaying". I've never heard of this container before now and I think you'd have to be pretty hard core to do this quest just for this container. If you want to do the quest for fun then ok but just about everyone I know does a quest for the reward and this is nothing more than a container that is worth 2 gold if you're lucky. I say take the time it would take to do this quest and buy a real container.

if you're new to the game, or new to Luclin, or new to playing a shaman, or... well you get the idea.

newbie quests are just that "newbie quests". they're geared to teach new characters about their surroundings and their class... and of course there's the pure roleplaying aspect or the social aspect (2 or 3 players helping each other accomplish these little quests).

There are a few good reasons to do these quests but ultimately it's up to you... personally I remember being broke, naked, and not even having any pocket space to speak of and Every little bit helps.

If you're just playing mechanics, you won't agree with my post... but then you're probably not the person I meant it for anyway Smiley: smile

I like to quest for the sake of questing. Hunting gets boring. Questing breaks up the monotony. I was level 34 before the wood elf druid newbie quests were added, but I still did them.

I usually give the reward away to a newb, or destoying it if it's No Drop. I also have something to say when newbs send a tell asking for advice.

I have noticed that what I had written before is not valid so I have erased it.

Hmmm, a container the result of a quest. Only four slots. No weight reduction. Only holds medium sized items.

I am trying to discern the value of this, and nothing seems to be that beneficial.... maybe this is used as a component of further quests?

What would be the value of this, of completing the quest to get this, unless it is used in further quests. 'Cuz otherwise, I think I would be going for backpacks or tailor-made stuff.

You have to do this quest to become a recruit, no? It's from your guild trainer. I thought it was worth it for the shield and cloak update, although a pain in the neck to get the pottery done with xakra bile being so hard to come by. Definitely work up your skill before trying to form or fire the jar. Use a regular firing sheet.

Try to remember what it was like way back when you started, running around with no armor, no money trying to get enough for some patchwork or if you were really lucky leather, remember how backpacks seemed really expensive for something that wasn't armor or a weapon?

i remember those days oh so clearly..."hmm, do i buy a backpack, or an uber leather tunic to upgrade from my patchwork?" 6 or 7 gp was a lot of money!

i think my cleric still has a box of bones from the newbie bone chip quest in qeynos! =)

personally i love all the newbie quests on luclin. at least the little kitties have a chance to get some USEFUL loot instead of the junk you get from newbie quests in antonica ("oh..thanks, 6 cp and a ration are just what i needed").

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 28 2001 at 9:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Im thinking back to when I first started, and ya know what I did? I said I will exterminate the pixies in Gfay and I got a 4 slot bag that was the result of saying what was in the brackets... this quest is stupid.

Actually, this is a pretty decent quest for the newbie Vah Shir Shamen. The knapsack is not the only reward. You also receive an upgrade to your newbie cloak and a decent shield, all of which is attainable at around level 3 or 4.

As far as i can see all the quest at this lvl lead to others and doing this for Shammy gives you a nice 4 slot pack that holds med, A 4 slot mixing contaner that hold med, a firing sheet, and A reusuble pattern for a pot. I realy like these quests and plane to not twink my shammy. And try to use only the stuff I erne.
