Unfortunately Kudamorfa, that's not how the Golem death / Broodling Spawn works. I did this last night. My guild, Cries of Insurrection, killed Terror the night before, spawning one iksar childs tear (They only killed ONE golem). Last night, we went back, and killed Dread who did not drop a tear. We killed Fright, who did drop a tear. Each golem has a % chance to drop a tear, regardless of the previous drops. Also we did this with a raiding party of 24. We took down both golems with only 4 or so deaths from each golem.

You mean the tear dropped off the GOLEM? I thought the lvl one hatchling was supposed to spawn once you cleared the golems (however many) and the hatcling dropped the tear.
Maybe it's been changed, but it doesn't seem to follow the Epic storyline, because you're supposed to kill the Iksar child to "release" it from the Plane of Fear.

No, that is not how it works. You can get the lvl 1 Iksar Broodling to spawn by killing EITHER Fright OR Terror. Dread does not spawn him. Therefore, you can get the Tear by killing Fright/Terror and then the Level 1 broodling. There is no Percentage on this... you Kill Fright or Terror AND the broodling pops right there. I hope this helps.

I'm just joking, but no, this item will never be a Rogue Item because it's the SHAMAN EPIC WEAPON. You must be a Shaman to use it. The effect is a DoT (damage over time) that is ACTIVATED thru the item, (see: TYPE: TRIGGERED)

It takes a lot more than just 20 people to raid PoF thats not even 3 groups and none higher than 52? Im sorry but your gona need to make some good friends or find another guild. I was 53 when I did this leg my guild killed the whole zone including CT easy but long. Please please please dont try doing it with 2 groups 52- or you will get sevearly scrood. few reasons.. 1) on small raids like this and if you all die theres a very good chance of loosing your corpse. You cant zone out the way you came in you half to get to the exit which is even worse than all those golem. 2) I alone was 53 on this raid and I died. If you go on a plain raid not expecting to die you will be very very dissapointed. Deaths are expected and if your not willing to accept this please dont go in. We dont need in random zones spam for a rogue and a crazy cleric to claim bodys back in PoF. 3) You need to know the lay out of the plain you need a veteran that knows the zone there is no maps of the zone because eqatlas.com's maker is lvl 44 or something ranger ( dont get me wrong he does amazing jobs on his maps ) This may be the easyest plain but still dosnt mean its actully easy to raid. The thing to do if your not gonna leave your old guild any time soon is go and as some uber guilds if they will let you loot it if they dont need. 4) Not to keep insulting your guild but if your guild cant take a PoF raid theres a small chance you can take any of the later mobs. sorry but in my opinnion this is just constructive critisisim.

With a partner, at level 36 I had also gotten through the Epic up to the Shield of Falsehood. Hacing read all the info I could find from EQShaman and message boards, I did not have a lot of faith in being able to get past Dire when my Guild raided Mistmoore, since we are a pretty new guild without a lot of high level people in it. Well, as I was making my way through LFay, I got a tell that Dire was down and to hurry up and get there. So I get there, three of us fight our way through and I loot, totally stoked! Now I go back and am reading about turning it in and I'm smacking my head because I have not been to Emerald Jungle to talk with the Sentinel Spirit and give him my gem yet. Have I gotten ahead of myself and bugged the quest? Those boots will make getting to lvl 46 and the Planes a bit easier. Thanks in advance.

Don't know if you've done this or not, but you should be ok just turning in the gem (first) then the pelt.
I have been working on parts of my epic ever since level 35. With the support of a couple of my Guildies I was able to complete everything up to the Shield of Falsehood at level 35. Once I hit 40th our guild raided Mistmoore so I was able to assist in killing the Black Dire. Now at 45 we are finishing up the necesarry work at the City of Mist and planing on heading to the Hole in the near future. While studying the walk-through I felt that the Plane of Fear would be a fairly "simple" task:
"Kill Iksar Child in Plane of Fear in the little pyramid at LOC ( -630, -360 ). Respawn time is (currently…) 60 seconds and hes level 1 and got about 15HP"
This is how it is shown in the run-through, however I have read numerous posts stating that the "Iksar Broodling" now spawns after killing Fear, Dread and Terror. These are all 55 level mobs that melee for upwards of 500. Fear and Dread both having death touch which does 20,000 pts of damage, and Terror an AOE of 500. It looks as if a large raid of 20+ people are needed to bring them down.

However the highest levels in my Guild at the moment are only 52, with only about 10 people of sufficient level to even enter the plains. Taking out any of these 3 mini-bosses would be next to impossible without calling in lots of outside help.
Someone please give me hope that I can actually complete this without having to round up numerous high-levels to do it for me. Tell me that the child is still spawning every 60 seconds without the need of killing Cazic-Thule's personal body guards. Lie to me if you have to (just kidding). If you have recently finished your epic, please let me know the state of the Iksar Broodlings spawn cycle. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated!

Wulfgarin, you are correct that the iksar child no longer spawns independently. You do have to kill Fright, Dread, and/or Terror. They each have a chance of spawning the iksar child, who appears right where the big beastie died if she spawns at all for you. (She doesn't spawn every time, maybe 50/50 or so.) However, I'm willing to bet that many high level guilds already have the epics for all of their shamans so they might let you tag along on their Fear raids and loot the tear if the child should spawn.

The Iksar Child is a triggered spawn and spawns when you kill Terror or Fright, she will NOT spawn after killing Dread, Hope this helps... also my first time posting! =)
Got my spear just 3 days ago, and i must say it is fantastic.. having a right-click magic based dot that does no direct damage has a tremendous effect on our ability to solo, and our usefulness in groups, combined with the jbb (which imho is high underrated and almost as useful outside of velious) this is an excellent combination. I find the range to be reasonable, but small. Something interesting about the dot effect however is that I casted it 4 times on myself, and all 4 times it did different amounts of damage. Of course it was 3am (had to play with it hehe) so maybe my mind was gone. I believe the formula has some sort of randomization in it, as the dot does not seem to do a fixed amount of damage... it does increase damage every tick similar to splurt starting very low damage so it is low-aggro.

I am considering starting my epic, but I am a Vah Shir shaman and want to make sure that this quest has been enabled for Vah Shir.
Is the casting time on the effect really instant? or has that page just not been updated since they changed this weapon to right click from proc.. if it is instant then holy f*ck.. you really could kill anything you could slow at lvl 60.

Casting time on Curse of the Spirits is 9.0 seconds (VERY LONG TIME).
The range is very small as well. When fighting anything considered large (like giants or dragons), the casting range is still within melee range of the mob.

I started the quest at level 24 and had no problem getting up to the sheild, "which I dont use as there is alot better out there". I have solo'd all of the parts so far and only the last 2 stages left before Epic.
You dont have to be 50 as someone said, you can started it and the entire epic is based on faction.
All shamans should be able to do it fairly easy, invis and invis vs. animals will be your best bet for most of it.

Congrats on your achievements! Can you please share the tactics a non-twink, level 24 Shaman can use to defeat Tabien the Goodly and Glaron the Wicked (both listed as 32 mobs, one a pallie the other an SK)? And if you are twinked, what equipment were you wearing to solo both of these mobs?
Also, I am VERY interested in what out there is "alot better" than the Shield of Falsehood that is obtainable by your average level 24 Shaman?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated !

I can't vouch for the previous poster, but I got my shield at 17 by following the advice on another forum. After turning in the gem from the test of patience, ask the wandering spirit about the Shield of Falsehood and he'll give it to you. I waited until 31 to do the next part, but enjoyed the shield meanwhile. In fact, it lasted me until 51 when I was able to complete the Shield of Bane Warding quest.

I have just recived my Spear of Fate at level 48 you can get it at 46 but you cannot use the clickable effects until your 50 so all you shamans that are not 50 yet go for it you dont have to wait. :)

What level do you have to be to Right-Click the spear? 46 like the JBB?
Unless someone has ever clicked on it and had it give you the "your will is insufficent to command this weapon" message, then it's moot. I doubt this has happened. (If someone out there has had this problem, let us KNOW!)

If I am not misinformed this is the epic weapon for shamen. Since you can't do the quest until you are level 50 and the spear is No Drop, it doesn't really matter if you could have right-clicked it before lvl 50 because none below 50 will have it. But, to answer your question, you can right-click it at lvl 50.

50 is not the limit on level to obtain the spear of fate, it is 46. There is no part in the quest that requires you to be 50+, not many guilds will help you unless your 50+, but you still can do it before lvl 50.

You have to be level 50 for the quest because otherwise the NPCs won't respond to your handing in items. They will take your items and say thanks then ignore you. And the jbb proc level is 45 like all of the JB stuff.
Sorry, but you're just wrong. You only have to be 46 to complete this quest (but you better have some high powered friends), and this is only because you have to go to the Plane of fear.

You can do the quest earlier than 46 to if you like to.. The tear can be MQ´d earlier.. I dunno about if you cant use the effect before 50 though..

hey i have looked at the stats of the SoF on several pages, and about half of them say that the dmg dly is 12/24......so what is it? 20/20 or 12/24?

For apiring shamans, read the walk through. Also check Belgars alchemy site for a more presise walk through.
Iksars, for the freeport part of the quest, invis head to the sewers and drop invis, its safe. go through the dialog part with Bondl Felligan, hes non agro. when he walks re-invis zone out and head back to sewer and wait on Bondl to return and just say "You can buy booze" (per belgars walk through) it will cause the spirit in the Jade tiger in North Freeport (close to bank BTW) to spawn. Re-invis and head over to jade tiger and go to the 3rd floor. You are far enough away from any npc's to be able to drop invis (well worked for me) and initiate the dialog with the spirit. Grats, your done with freeport.
DO NOT be fooled by the black wolf in mistmoore- i had a 55 cleric friend and 2 45+ warriors, we barely made it. he can be very tough unless you, the shaman, are 49+ (i wasnt at the time) to cast on it.

I am only a lvl 6 shaman right now,(tho i only started 3 days ago :P) I love EverQuest. I think it is the best game ever created. When i heard about the Spear of Fate, i could not wait til I would be able to get it. I read about it and I think it rules. I am also looking for a group to be with for a little while. I don't think you can MQ the tear, as Rak's aggro is triggered by your true spirit faction, and only shamans can raise it :(

As far as I know you can MQ the Tear, the catch is the same as w/ any quest really - Both the initiator (guy w/ the tear) and the recipient (the guy that loots Rak) must have sufficient faction to do their respective parts. So find someone that has completed their epic to get a tear to MQ it w/ you and then do the quest from beginning to this part to raise your own faction before you turn Rak's drop in to get your epic.

I'm a lvl 50 Barbarian Shaman and have had problems getting the gem from the second spirit in FP. I have done this part of the quest a few times to make sure that I am doing it correctly and I have checked a few different spoilers and still no gem. This leads me to believe my faction is messed up. Does anyone know anything about the faction needed to do the quest and how I can fix it to receive the gem.
As a lowly 30 shaman with some time to kill, I decided to start the quest early.
There are NO faction requirements for TrueSpirit at the beginning.
Just kill one of the starter mobs (Peg Leg for me in BB) and the spirit will spawn.
After that, the faction requirements begin.
As far as I know, there are no ways to LOWER this faction (except, of course, by killing
one of the spirits ... but who would do that anyway), but I have heard that skipping
some steps or doing them out of order can result in having not ENOUGH faction to
complete the next step. Find a spoiler site or talk to a SoF-wielding Shaman to find out
exactly how to do the quest and what the faction requirements are for each step.

Killing the Lesser Spirit does not lower one's True Spirit faction. I killed the Lesser Spirit in Butcherblock several times before beginning my epic with no problems at all. At one time it was possible to ***** up your TrueSpirit faction by getting it too high (!) to complete the quest, but this has been fixed. BTW, I started my epic at 14. The tests of trust and even patience aren't too hard, but some of the later ones are a bit more difficult. ;-)

Man this spear is SO awsome.... I'm starting an iksar shammy and i was worried that their epic quest items wouldn't be all that great!!!!

Strangely enough, Religion doesnt matter for the quest. Its race specific.

I was really confused since I'm a troll shaman that worships Cazic, but I said "I follow hate" and its worked up to High Scale Kirn.

First it takes over 20 to complete without dying AT LEAST second you need to travel a lot and third there is an evil wolf guy in mistmoore you have to kill that has a bunch of little wolfies near him and they are all level 48 double hit for 400+ and bash high too! anyone who has dont this quest knows the outcome is only barely worth it the only thing is it does sweet damage on the effect and on the spear itself + it has 20 wis 10 str 10 dex and 10 stam and it glows! it you wanna get it look at the quest for it on www.eqshaman.com or casterealm
